Back in December, I went clothes shopping (again) and came away with one pair of stretchy pants (again) because my usual size 12s really didn't fit, hard as I tried, and I went into denial (again) and refused to buy size 14s that would fit comfortably. And then I went to Starbucks and had a nonfat latte and a cranberry bliss bar, which cancelled out the benefits of the nonfat milk (my usual answer to clothes not fitting or looking dumpy to cover me up -- and generally feeling bummed-out).
Early in January, I started on South Beach phase 1 and am now eating a whole foods, vegetable-heavy diet.
I've been keeping a pair of size 10 slacks in my closet - they now fit comfortably and are the only pair of pants that do (everything else is getting floppy).
Yesterday I went clothes shopping and 12s were too big, so went for the size 10s -- and found pants that fit! Yay!
I shop second hand (Goodwill, Value Village), so most of the jeans have shrunk to smaller than their original size and the slacks tend to be closer in size. So, slacks fit, jeans were hit and miss.
I found a pair of size 10 Levi's that I can fit into, but that are very tight (in December, I couldn't have pulled them up over the tops of my thighs). I love the look of Levis, so went ahead and bought them. They are my new mini-goal (really working toward 4-6).
Clothes can be fun -- I'm looking forward to enjoying them more than I've been able to for so long.
