Leo - Way to go on the weight loss. That is AWESOME!!

I went to WI today and got good news. I was down. 2.5. I have stalled for about a week and was very glad to see a downward movement agian. I do not like the plateaus but know I have to go through them just like everyone else does.

Hello, I attended my food class today and will be starting my plan tomorrow. I lost 6.5 pounds during the pre-conditioning. Looking forward to learning from all of you.

Best

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! I REALLY appreciate it.

I've been thinking about ways to reward myself and came up with this - for every 10 lbs. I lose, I'm going to buy myself a new pair of shoes! :carrot:
I LOVE SHOES (and I don't think my shoe size will change as I'm losing weight)!

Everyone have a fabulous, fat-burnin' weekend!

See ya'll Tuesday!

I love shoes, too, so I think that's a fantastic reward! FYI, though--your shoe size will change a little bit, but not until you've lost quite a bit. I went from size 9.5/10 (depending on the brand) to size 9/9.5.

I had a few shoes that I simply can't wear anymore because they're too big. It's okay, though, as I buy really good quality shoes and then wear them until they're falling apart, so I was due for a few new pairs. That, and now that I'm wearing way cuter clothes, I needed some different styles of shoes to go with them. ;)

I'm glad you like them, Patzi! I'm finding that I really enjoy the challenge of finding more and more interesting meals to make and keep in my "rotation" of things to eat so I don't get bored and end off going off track. I still eat plain chicken and veggies sometimes, but it feels good to eat something that seems so gourmet at times--but still know that it's healthy for me and not going to cause me to gain!

I've only been posting about twice a week, but I'd like to start to get to the point where I'm posting 4-5 times a week. That's more likely to happen in the summer, though, when I'm not working full-time. :)

Leo the Lioness -- great job on your week!
Casamawa --I totally understand about being in a spot where things are a little struggle. I have been there myself this week. But I am back on track, really thinking back through my menu plan and making the choices that I need to when eating out. I haven't weighed in yet this week but I know by my scale I am down a couple of pounds. Taking a short mental break definitely helped me.

I have stopped taking the MRC-6 after posting the other night aobuut how tired and having headaches after I started taking them -- headaches are gone and i don't feel as tired. so I am staying away from them for a while. I will stick with just my vitamins and B12.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Help! All the sudden I feel like throwing in the towel. I'm not far from goal and losing steam. I was so proud that I managed to lose a little over the holidays but now I just want to stop thinking about it. I want to stop putting in the effort it takes to plan. Stop working on alternative ways to decompress rather than mindless eating. As I write this, what I hear is that I'm tired. My job has been stressful, a few things have been out of the norm at home... I just want everything to stop and I want everyone to leave me alone.

I looked forward to getting back to normal after the holidays, but I haven't gotten there. I don't know why, perhaps in part because my daughter is still
here from college? Of course I love having her, but every dinner feels like it's "special" in some way, and to be honest, I try not to act like I'm dieting in front of her. Last night we went out for dinner at a very nice place - birthday dinner for husband- and today I am up 2 pounds! Yesterday up almost 1 from the day before that.

I am in dangerous territory. I don't want to drive all the way to my center to weigh in when it will be bad news and I don't need to buy any HNS.

How can I get my head back in the right place?

Girl, you are my inspiration!! you threw away a box of chocolate over the holidays!! there is no way i would ever have the willpower to do that! i did throw away a half bag of choc. covered peanuts that i had in my car and if i hadn't read your post, i would have never done that - ever in a million years. (i was at the ATM and got out and stuffed that bag in the little tiny trashcan near the envelopes!) i felt great for doing that. i would have kept eating them and tell my self that a little each day wouldn't hurt me (that belief put those 35 lbs on me!) when i have company it's really hard - had to baby sit my MIL a few days this week again - after a day of eating off plan, i was like this is crazy, i can stay on plan and she can eat what i eat, only more. but i did find myself eating stuff off plan because my DH was bringing home "bad" food! it's in the house and i'm eating it. then i'd do Mediquick to lose it again. Plus to deal w/ my MIL, i found out that wine definitely makes the evenings a little less stressful! i do know when i exercise more, that really really helps - not just on the scale but for my well being.

i'm thinking for you, at your height, your weight now is probably where you should be at. i bet you look great!!! how about talking to your center about starting the stabilization earlier? i think you are ready and if you do lose a little more, then that's a bonus.
Also, just tell your daughter that you are eating healthier because you feel better (don't mention diet) since you have a trainer, you can say he/she recommended this food plan.
Have a good weekend and keep sharing what is going on. i'm filling up my water jug!! MIL is out of the house -for today anyway - YAY!

you can check w/ your counselor --my center emailed it to me when i asked them for it...one counselor hit the roof when i asked her about it then i emailed my center a couple weeks later and they emailed it to me! :-)
the instructions are that you can only do the meta-quick menu up to 7 days a month...consecutively or throughout the month.
i use it to lose quickly if i've had a couple off days or have reached a stall in wt. loss.

4 HNS per day - 1 at b-fast and lunch, use the other 2 as snacks between meals. 1 HNS can be creamy.
B-fast- one MRC meal replacement bar or meal replacement shake
Lunch " "
Dinner - 4 oz protein (ckn, turkey, white tuna or white fish, buffalo/bison) , 4 oz cooked veg or 8 oz raw veg., 40 cal. bread or 1 serv. melba toast (40 cal)
they recommend 1 scoop MRC super Veggii or Super Fruit and Veggi (i've never added this myself)

Thanks, all, for the great support regarding my freak-out. I am not ready to quit. I do look soooo much better and I'm not all the way there. My bodyfat is still in the high 30s. I feel I should get to 160 then switch my emphasis more to exercise and building muscle with a maintenance food plan. I do remember when Gina was struggling with something similar and maybe MetaBalance might be a good change. I have considered that before...

Today we take our daughter to the airport for her return to school. I am making a menu and shopping list now so I can stop at the store on the way back. Fresh start!

Also, I slept 11 hours last night- could not believe it. I do think I got exhausted, which makes me want to eat crap and also makes me feel depressed and negative. So today is a new day all around.

Thanks again for the replies - and yes, I DID throw away a box of chocolate not too long ago!! Haha! I can be one strong mother when I put my mind to it.

camaswa-I'm still loving metabalance. I feel so much better mentally and physically. Getting ready to go out for a run which i wasn't able to do before. I would say I am satisfied eating. Never full and still get slightly hungry, but usually by then it's time for a small snack:) And now that I'm exercising I lost an inch off my lower tummy which I haven't been losing much there in comparison to the rest of my body.

camaswa 01-14-2012 06:00 PM

That is great to hear, nwcgina!
