YAY!!! with everything going on w/ family, holidays, vacation, etc. i am down a pound!!! i felt like i had gained about 5 lbs on some days! after yrs of gaining and losing and gaining over the years w/ other plans, this MRC plan, i got it down! By George i Got it!!! if Life gets in your way and you go off Plan, then get right back on board. Some things are out of our control but i have learned that when i don't have foods on plan available, to eat smaller portions, get the protein and veggies in and always have the Water and HNSs available. i always keep a ziplock of HNS powder in my pocketbook to add to water (and carry it in my car w/ bottles of water) no excuses - be prepared. i automatically remove half of the bun or don't eat it at all when i'm out or eating somewhere else. open face sandwiches rock!
i did get up earlier and got two walks in this week so that made me feel a lot better!

Advice to the newbies... just remember MRC consultants are sales people and if you feel like they are pushing the supplements on you, they really are! alot of people including myself have lost successfully without any supplements (pills). my doctor told me if i took all the supplements, i may lose faster but would regain when i went off of them. plus be broke!! i use my own protein powder (Syntrax Choc. Truffle and Roadside Lemonade and Protidiet Pink Lemonade - large container) - from Diet Direct ... i just avoid them when they start asking if i need HNSs and say, nope i have what i need, thank you. i've never told them i order online. in the beginning i bought a couple boxes from them (soups, choc. pudding) not a bad price and for those things, same price as Diet Direct if you get 5 for $55.

This diet works!!! the best advice is on this forum...the recipes are on the forum too and very helpful so you dont get bored.

Good luck everyone and happy friday!

Life isn't a straight line, it bends and curves. It's how you choose to handle those deviations that matters. Can it be that after a lifetime of losing and regaining I am actually realizing what it takes to keep it off? Patzi, what would you say? That seems to be exactly what you do.

Woo hoo!!!! that's fantastic!!! this is so true - a few days ago, i was like OMG, i am gaining everything back that i lost and was like here we go again. immediately did Medi quick and got right back on plan. fixing meals for my MIL but i was like, she can just eat what i eat only i gave her more of everything. found out she doesn't like collard greens and was trying to feed to the dogs...they turned their noses up at her! ha
i know with other plans if i gained it is not easy to lose so quickly and w/ this plan it is. now i'm ready to lose the rest and i'm thinking i'll lose more - i kind of like the compliments :-)

Well, things are just getting more surreal! I now have a copy of the ad featuring me that will be running in our newspaper next week! OMG!!!! Let's put it this way, this is an NFL city, thererfore, this isn't a small town paper. ;)

I just weighed in and lost 0.5 pounds. Shocked me. TTOM came this morning so I really thought I had gained. I'll take it!

Heck YEA!!!! NWCGina that is soooo fabulous!!! I can't wait to do that. :carrot:

After my rant on Tuesday and subsequent binging on pizza...I got right back on track and started exercising like crazy. 28 minutes on the elliptical at work on wednesday, 20 minutes of zumba on thursday, and tonight is another grueling heckish 28 minutes of elliptical. My councelor liked that I only did one syntrax nectar and the rest HNS, and was super proud that after such a big derailment I got right back up and started working hard again. We had a better session. Then it was time to weigh. According to the center I lost three and a half pounds, but since I knew that my weight was going to be high because I changed the time of weigh in and the clothing I didn't even take it as real. So I really lost two pounds. YAY ME! And I guess the ellipitical is a good workout...even if it's grueling.

Glad to hear of all the weight loss...and it's good to see you back BigDog...glad your MIL is starting to eat your food!!

Have a great weekend y'all!!!

Well, I went to Food Class, stepped on the scale and lost 2.5 lbs. YAY ME! :carrot:
When I went last Friday for WI & measurements, I actually was up 2 lbs., (to 260) but I attributed it to time of day and didn't stress about it. Today, I'm at 256, so I'm wondering can I REALLY count the additional 2 lbs.? Whatever the case, I am TOTALLY excited/motivated!

I'm on the "Meta-Slim Plus" plan. If this is what all meal plans say, please let me know how I can separate it out from the others. It's on a yellow sheet of paper.

The center Manager went through the class and there was NO HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS. The only things she STRONGLY recommended outside the HNSs were a multi-vitamin & the Krill Oil (which I purchased both).

I'm going to stick to the "pre-condition" menu until Sunday, then I'll start fresh with the new plan.

I was REALLY PLEASED to see how they had a list of popular restaurants as well as tips for ordering when eating out. Also, if I know I'm going to eat out and can get the restaurant menu in advance, my counselor will go through the menu for me and let me know what's "safe."

This is me right now...........:carrot::jig::cb::cp::dance::dancer: :cheer2::broc:

Good Morning KG!
I'm thinking of you this a.m. as I know you'll be going to the center to get your plan. I was scheduled to go in at 5:30, but I'm going at 11:30. :carrot: Hopefully I'll "see" you around today so we can share our plans.
I NEVER thought you resented your children - just the fact that you had to prepare separate meals. I TOTALLY understand. It will get better with time & your children will become more understanding - especially if they know that what you're doing now will help ensure you'll be around for years to come for family vacations, college graduations, grandchildren, etc.

Sometime over the weekend, I'll talk to my daughter about bringing the junk food into the house. The other day she told me, "I'm going to be your biggest support 'cuz I want you to be healthier and be around for a long time." (Bought tears to my eyes.) So, I'll share my plan with her this weekend, then go through the cabinets & remove all junk food. I don't mind if it's in the house, and as a matter of fact, I have a dorm-size fridge she can put in her bedroom (if necessary). Also, I'm more than willing to purchase some type of plastic container for her and my grandson's "goodies."

Leo,
Your daughter sounds like a sweetheart. I'm sure she will support you. So nice.

I read your most recent post since you got back from the center. Way to go on the weight loss. You should be so proud of yourself. That is a great way to start your journey.

I went to the center today and I am also on the "meta-slim plus, level 2". The menu is just on a white piece of paper, but I wonder if they made copies. If anyone knows I would appreciate the information. She said that I would start on level 2 then move from there. Move to where I don't know yet, but this plan has me drinking 4-5 hns's a day. I am also going to start on Sunday. I need to get organized and do some more shopping. I was very unhappy at the WI because I have gained 3 lbs. It is TOM and my counselor said that was perfectly normal. I guess I should be glad it wasn't more. I am trying not to get discouraged, but it's a little hard. I just need to see a loss in that number and I think that would help so much. I haven't been perfect with the eating, but I have been close, so I'm a bit surprised. Not to mention all the supplements that I'm taking. I did expect to see a loss this week. But nature had it's own plan I guess. LOL I'm not upset or giving up by any means, just disappointed.

KG!!!!!
TOM is coming up for me too! Man, I'm gonna be so bummed if the scale goes up, but I know it'll be water weight (more than likely). Also, I CRAVE EVERYTHING then. I just wanna eat & eat & eat & eat some more, so I'm hoping the HNS's will help with that.

I don't know how we can determine if we are on the same plan. There was no mention of levels, but I'll ask my counselor when I see her on Tuesday. I'm required to have 3 HNs's a day, plus 3 additional to be used as mid-morning, mid-afternoon or an evening snack.

What HNS's did you buy? Did you learn about the "ketone strips?"
What days are you planning to weigh-in?

Hi! I just joined MRC last night! I am so excited!! I had been thinking about joining MRC for several months but when I'd google them I'd read some really bad reviews so I was very hesistant about joining them, but then I found these threads and I feel much better about joining them. I do have some questions if anyone can help.. I didn't have the hormone testing done, well, done yet.. Can you still use the Corti-trim, MSM or the UC-II - I am unsure what they are I had just read about them helping belly fat and tightening of baggy skin. And by the time I loose all the weight I have to lose I will probably have a lot of hanging skin.

Thanks!!

LeoTheLioness 01-06-2012 04:18 PM

Hi Matea & Welcome!
I'm new as well and will start my plan on Sunday.
Sorry, I can't answer your questions, but I'm sure someone will.
Once you go to "Food Class" you'll learn EVERYTHING about all of the supplements. In the meantime, you could always call the center directly & ask the staff there. :smug:

Hey gang!

First, I want to thank Jen for reaching out to me and 2nd, I want to apologize for my absence. November was a crazy month, being gone for 2 weeks for my mom's foot surgery and got back into town on Thanksgiving then spent a week trying to recoop and had to go to Orlando for a business meeting the following week. I also started a part time job at Hobby Lobby - so working 7am-4pm at my full time job and then going to work from 4:30pm-Close (which is 8pm but after cleanup, some nights I didn't get out of there until after 9pm). Needless to say, my weight loss came to a screeching halt!

I finally got the travel weight off and slowly lost a couple more pounds and then after Christmas, I lost 4.5lbs which allowed me to sign the 110lb board! I was shocked! I couldn't believe I had lost that much. But then I went for my WI that Friday and gained 1.5lbs back and this Tuesday gained 2 more pounds! UGH! But I have also been sick. Had bronchitis last week and still feel like I have a sinus infection. Hoping for a good WI tomorrow.

Oh, and another thing that has been keeping me a little busy.. I met someone! I've known him since high school, lost track of him through the years but we met back up earlier this year when we went to Joplin to help after the tornado. But we've really started to spend a lot of time together and it feels good! Haven't really had these kind of feelings in a few years.

Anyway - it's time for me to get back on track! I have set my goal to 185lbs.. which means I have a little over 30 pounds to lose!

I know I have missed a lot and I'm not even going to try to play catch up! But it feels good to be back! I've really missed all of you!

Candi--
You look AMAZING! Congratulations on the 110lbs! I'm also happy that, although you are super-busy, you have been able to find some romance, too! How exciting!

You are such an inspiration! We understand if you are too busy to post or read very often, but do make sure you give us updates!

I'm a little discouraged as my weight loss has slowed to 2.5 lbs a week, but I'm still going in the right direction. I'm thinking of re-signing for another 17 weeks to help reach my goal (I would like to lose another 20 or 30 lbs)... has anyone ever re-signed?

I re-enrolled a couple of times. You can re-enroll for either 10 or 17 weeks. I usually did 10 weeks at a time when I re-enrolled. Also, ask your center often about whether they're going to be running any specials anytime soon (they may even be running a new year's one now). I usually tried to re-enroll when they were running a special so I could get my additional weeks at a discount.

I hear you about feeling like your losses have slowed. Mine slowed down a lot for a while after I hit the 50lb mark (from about 2.5-3lbs a week to 1-1.5lbs a week). Stick with it, though, if you can. Eventually, my losses picked back up again.

Wow, you look incredible!!! we've missed you on the boards. how's it going? love the new profile pic!!

Yes,the cort-trim helps release the fat from your body. Also,MRC 6 helps a lot. Ask the consultant any questions you have and they should help. That is what they are for is to help you though this change in your life. I have been with them since june 2010,and I still call and see them 2 times a week for help. I weigh in 2 times a week.

Welcome to the weekend. I have my last Christmas gathering today. I volunteered to bring a fruit tray, a veggie tray, and cheese...so I've got my lunch planned:) At this point I'm not too tempted by sweets, just going to take my HNS and some diet soda along.
