Thanks, Fluffy:) I'm starting to be able to eat again and for now I'm eating whatever I can stomach...cereal mainly. I figure I need to regain my strength and don't want to associate the good for me foods with feeling so crummy. Hopefully by Sunday I can be back on track.

bigdog 12-09-2011 01:37 PM

Patzi - yum!!! that recipe is perfect and something i can make ahead so i can grab one on the go. South beach website or books would be a good place to look for decent recipes..high protein low or no carbs...

camaswa - have you not learned anything from me? Wine is a fruit and should be counted as such :-) (newbies, i'm kidding!) it's funny but i don't gain when drinking wine - well, maybe if i drank a whole bottle but my weight gain comes from desserts and too many carbs. it does cause water retention but if i chug a bunch of water the next day, comes right off. even the high fat Boursin and Brie cheese i had last weekend didn't make me gain. i had celery stuffed w/ boursin garlic and herb cheese twice for dinner! i lost 2 more lbs. and the SF FF jello has been a life saver me at it's low 10 calories. has kept me from the protein bars that i was gobbling up like dessert... i added some lite cool whip to the lime jello mixture, whirled it i nthe blender for a delicious dessert for 15 cal. a serving. next week will be cherry ! thank you Bill Cosby! hmm....maybe i'll make jello shooters for the Christmas party this weekend :-)
went to the library and checked out a couple books to get some high protein, low carb recipes... Atkins for Life and a book called 500 low-carb recipes -(Greek Roasted chicken, Zucchini Meat Loaf Italiano, Spring Chicken Soup) and all on plan!

patzi 12-09-2011 01:58 PM

Camaswa....
You did it, enjoyed it, today is a new day... Get on the scale and see how much damage was done. To get it off, try eating OP for sure, but eat more eggs and fish. When I say eggs, like eggbeaters or egg whites. Or you could do a day of shake and HNS in morning, same for lunch and a regular meal at night..

I had mentioned about wine at parties.. This is what I do and will do tonight and tomorrow, as I have two parties in a row.. I always take a fat and carb blocker when I eat out. For wine, I order a wine cooler in a large glass, and when I am thru ask them to add club soda to it with lots of ice, and then add a red HNS to it, and it looks like you are drinking and it lasts a long time, as a wine cooler is in a large glass.. You can also add one of those kiwi colored HNS and that looks like a drink, also..

On maintenance I allow myself two wines and that is it.. Rest is the HNS mixture.

Hope this helps... But do get on the scale, as if you don't then one starts to play mind games with oneself. You can do it , just stay focused.

Officially in the 160s! Weighed in at the center today at 169, which is 2.5 pounds down from my last weight in, but only 1 pound net because I gained 1.5 at my last weigh in. Still feelin' pretty good!

patzi 12-09-2011 02:35 PM

1Bighog..

Great. Happy for you.. I say anything off is a great thing...

WI at lunch and I lost the 1/2 gain from Tuesday plus another 1/2 pound. I was told the 1/2 gain from Tuesday was because of water retention from flying. So all in all, I'm excited for the pound loss since TTOM started today. I almost forgot about it since I haven't paid attention to the calendar lately. Not too bad. Only 8 pounds to go!

Bighog - Congratulations on the loss and being in the 160s. Great work!

If you are not on maintenance, just adjust recipe to suit your plan. My friend gave this to me a long time ago. May be a South Beach Diet recipe, as that is where she lost her weight.

VEGGIE QUICHE CUPS TO GO( made in a muffin pan)

1 package (10) oz. frozen chopped spinach
3/4cup egg beaters
3/4 cup fat free mozarella cheese
1/4 cup choppled green peppers
1/4cup onion

Defrost spinach and drail well so there is no excess liquid. I squeeze spinach
till no moisture .

Spray muffin pan with Pam or whatever spray you use.

Combine egg beaters , cheese, peppers, onions in a bowl. Mix well.Seasoning is your choice.

Divide evenly among muffin cups.. ( I usually get 10 cups filled), as I like mine
big.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. My oven takes longer than 20 minutes, so check them as cooking.

Tami.... You can use any type of cheese. I use soy cheese,as certain cheeses I sometimes cannot tolerate, and any type of veggies.. If you can't have peppers and onions on plan, used broccoli . Last week I made with cheddar type cheese, vs. mozzarella... I use herbs in there, also for taste.

3 drops of hot pepper sauce may be added to the mix if you like a hot taste.

Many times as I am off to work,I take two of these as I am going out the door, with an HNS & a slice of toast and eat on way. I keep them warm in an insulated small container that I have.

They freeze well.. I make them and freeze them and use as needed.

Hope this helps. If you change recipe around, let me know, so I can try it.
Patzi

YUM....Thank you for sharing this recipe, Patzi! I am going to make it!!

Patzi, what is baked oatmeal? sounds interesting :-)

Hi...
I put the baked oatmeal on the maintenance forum that Jen started as this is not an OP dessert and should not be eaten by those that have not reached maintenance.

just saw it on the maintenance forum...way too many ingredients for me to make anyway - i'm more of a 2-3 ingredient recipe kind of gal :-) love the spinach quiche recipe you posted earlier this week - YUM!
thanks for sharing!

I Faced the Scale

Five days on the road, business dinners, airplanes, etc and I am down .8 since the morning I left. I am shocked! Look what a guilt trip i do on myself - I did really well. Here's what I learned: wine really IS fruit - no, kidding, just couldn't resist.

I am learning to pay attention. Learning not to go into denial. Learning to face reality. Learning that perfection is not the goal. The goal is progress.

:carrot:

bigdog 12-10-2011 05:26 PM

Totally agree, Camaswa,

The goal is progress. Everyone is different, but i'm not going to obsess over every single thing i eat or drink but am going to continue to make the healthiest choices i can make daily. Two business lunches this week w/ my boss and clients - it's just freaking food...it is funny because at my table, they were scarfing down homemade chicken noodle soup, pasta dishes, fresh shrimp salad on homemade bread and i didn't even crave or want any of that... i ate my chef salad w/ lite vinegarette on the side, left the homemade roll and was like no big deal. the Chef came out w/ a homemade chocolate cake for us to try...i had a couple bites - it didn't kill me or send me into Pounds overload land...
the main thing i have learned is that i like being thinner and i like my now flat stomach and not feeling stuffed. it's a good feeling and eating more protein and less carbs makes me feel great!
my girlfriend who motivated me to join MRC travels for her job and when she has a cocktail or two, she cuts out her carbs and fruit for the day. she lost 25 lbs, is under her goal and has kept the weight off.:hat:

One week without a loss

WARNING....VENTING HERE! I was switched to meta balance 2 weeks ago and this last week I had no loss at all. I am not so bothered about that as much as I am with the counselor I met with on Wednesday. She told me meta balance is meant for people that exercise a lot and since I was not exercising that I should go back to meta slim. I told her my plan was switched due to fatigue, dizziness and migraines that I was having while on meta slim. She told me I just needed to have some super veggie in the afternoons. what? really? Not sure what her goal was, but she certainly made me feel like a failure since I was not able to stick it out on Meta slim. Fortunately she was not at the center today and the counselor I met with reassured me that meta balance was the plan I should stick with. I did have a meltdown on Thursday which probably contributed to not losing this week. I was stuck in a meeting all afternoon on Thursday in a hot room. By the time I left I was STARVING and the HNS I had did not cut it. When I got home I just grabbed whatever was within my reach to eat (tortilla chips, p-nut butter, cheese stick). I think will try and avoid this counselor since she puts me on a bummer when I meet with her. Sorry for the long rant!

Rocki 12-10-2011 07:31 PM

Will check out that oatmeal recipe when I get to maintenance. Thanks for all your awesome information here Patzi!

Patzi

Woohoo bighog! That's awesome! It's so great to go down into a lower set of pounds! :)

Awesome job! Traveling is so hard for me. I did have a McDonald's salad last night instead of junk food @ Sea World, but when we got home my dad had brought over Popeye's chicken..ugh!

Sorry to hear about the crappy counselor, but glad that you got it straight with the nice one! :) I really like the 3 at my center. I've been very luck there.

faerychic...
You are permitted to ask for a counsultant you like and can work with. May times I am waiting my turn, and they come to someone before me and she will say, go ahead I am waiting for so and so.. If there is someone you prefer,, then I would make an appt with that one person and tell the center you want to see only her.. It is done by many in my center.

Hope this will help you. Nothing worse than a consultant making one feel like you describe. Losing weight is a challenge, one does not have to add anything from the center to that.

I was told that if I went on Meta Balance, I would gain, as it was for clients over 200, and I did not fit in that category... I did try it, and lost nothing for 2 weeks and went back to Meta Slim.

Never have to aplogize for ranting.. All of us have done it.. That is what we are here for, to listen and help.

Also, on recipes... I have taken a recipe into the head of the center, and asked her to help me make it OP for MRC without using any of the supplements and they have done that.. Soooo, if you have something you really like and it is not OP, give it a try. I never use any HNS in cooking. I substitute something I use for daily cooking and it has always worked out.
I should not have purchased the cook book as I really never use it.. The center does give out recipes, but again, always substitute HNS and supplements

Patzi

bigdog 12-10-2011 09:28 PM

faerychic,
The super veggie drink? did she explain the reasoning behind that? (just read in my materials that the super veggie drink keeps you "regular" so guess they are encouraging you to ....well you know :-)
from what i was told from the center, the Metabalance diet is for people that don't mind losing a little slower 1-2 lbs a week and the Metaslim diet is for those that want to lose faster 3-5 lbs. my friend that was on Metabal. just had 20 lbs to lose and she chose that diet because she wanted dairy in her diet. she hardly exercises at all.
if you want more recipes, the Metabolic Research facebook page has some great recipes and some great tips on keeping on track too. there are some links to recipes on this forum too. (much better than the cookbook) i bought the cookbook used on Amazon used...glad i didnt spend more than a couple bucks on it...
Planning ahead is the key to succeed on this program, i boil eggs ahead of time, have cheese cut in cubes, cut up cukes, celery, green peppers and put them in zip lock bags, grill chicken ahead of time. Flank steak is good too. this past week on a sales blitz w/ my boss, i ate cheese toast and a boiled egg in the am, put some frozen blueberries in my pink lemonade HNS powder and water (blender bottle) for mid morn., and had a protein bar in my pocketbook in case i got hungry... i carry some HNS powder in a zip lock at all times to put in water...
if i'm really hungry, i'll grab some extra protein and drink more water.

everyone is different but my weight gain came from too many carbs not protein. not really on the plan but if i can't get my veggies in, i drink V-8..the 35 cal. hasn't stalled my weight loss at all :-)
and Vent as much as you want!! alot of us on the forum have heard all different advice from the consultants....they go to training classes so i'm not sure why there are so many different answers out there! very strange..

nwcgina 12-10-2011 10:18 PM

Well, I think my tummy is about ready to get OP again. I'm going to give veggies a try tomorrow. Hope I don't get that bug again anytime soon:(

As for consultants...I always call in and get the same gal. If she's not available, I have her call me back. One time I spoke with someone else and was not at all impressed (even though she was the manager)...love having the same consultant cheer me on and keep me accountable. My parents go to a different center and have had several different people and are almost always told something different by different people...like which supplements to use, this that and the other thing. I think if i were going to a center I would be insistent on seeing the same person. At least you would get consistent info.

I'm in my busy season...so lots of packing meals. I have cheese cubes and boiled eggs ready, making turkey meatloaf muffins tomorrow, cutting up veggies...isn't it amazing to be losing in this season of eating??? At work on Friday they told me I looked like I had all the stuffing taken out of me and (lovingly) called me droopy drawers. Just 2 lbs from seeing my lowest weight since junior high!!!

Wow!!! I would love to be back at my weight from junior high. Congrats on that. I also love that during this time of cookies, and cakes, and candies, and pies, that I am losing weight. Not as quickly as I wanted, but to be honest..I'm sneaking some cookies (but telling my councilor) but I blame my work (not that I should do that) cause they bake them fresh during my shift. But I pop a piece of sugar free desert gum...apple pie or orange creme pop and I'm good to go...the smell goes away and the craving goes away.

I saw my old co-workers today and it had been 2 weeks. Even though I haven't noticed a big difference except in clothing...they said that I was significantly slimmer. Was so happy I think my smile made the lobby brighter. Have decided to remove my pic from my facebook page so that way when I put up another one when I am considerably lighter...it'll be....wow! Cassie you look fabulous!!!

Do I have the current site? I am going to check facebook now for their recipes...

Big Dog..
Want to thank you for mentioning Nashua Nutrition.. I ordered from them and was very happy and the samples were on target with MRC.. I received three free samples.. I still take Replacement Shakes and HNS when traveling or after the two parties I went to this weekend.. Talking about that, I got on scale and up two pounds. Have until Tuesday to get some of it off, hopefully all of it. Will do two days of shakes and then if still up stay on green menu, if not go back to full maintenance. I like the replacement shakes with HNS added to it. I enjoyed everything I ate and drank at parties and now back to being OP again . Next party is NY Eve.. I have 6 pounds under goal, so that is making me feel good about it. One thing MRC taught me is it is a way of life, and I don't feel guilty about anything I eat or drink on maintenance. If I gain weight with it, put it aside for another time.

Hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend... I am sipping shakes.. LOL

Patzi

bigdog 12-11-2011 10:11 AM

Patzi,
even when i get to maintenance, i'll still be drinking some of the protein shakes and MSNs. it's the only way that i can get all the protein in that my body needs. i seem to prefer more vegetarian type meals -i'm not vegetarian but meat is not always appealing to me (i used to eat peanut butter sandwiches on lite bread all the time because i didn't feel like eating meat ). the last couple days, have been eating cottage cheese for my protein for lunch w/ fruit and celery. i'm going to make the turkey meatloaf muffins so i can have something easy to grab and eat on the run.
i love the protein shakes...that's my "dessert"
have a great Sunday! i really need to get it in gear and get some Christmas shopping done, then get ready for Christmas party at the Sailing Club- usually lots of salads and we're taking smoked salmon so should be ok :-) hoping they have champagne! we always toast the Sunset at the club!

thanks Patzi - I think in the future I will avoid this counselor as it is not the first time she has given me a hard time.

bigdog - thanks for the tip on the facebook recipes. I do have the MRC cookbook (waste of money) especially since a lot of the recipes call for HNS's which I cannot use with meals on Metabalance (HNS are used for snacks). I realize my weight loss will be slower but at least I am having fewer migraines on the meta balance plan. The counselor I met with yesterday was very encouraging and said to stick with it and would come up with something else for me if meta balance doesn't work. hmmmm...... maybe I should take the super veggie as I do have issues with constipation!

As for my meltdown...........I think I was just looking for an excuse to eat some junk food since I was feeling down as a result of my meeting with the bad counselor. I did have plenty of on plan food I could have eaten. I have to remind myself that food is not going to make me feel better when I am on a downer.

I appreciate everyone's input and am glad to have this forum for venting and encouragement!

bigdog 12-11-2011 11:07 AM

faerychic, if you are constipated (TMI!! LOL!) don't you love this forum? buy the smooth move tea. (Walgreens, Walmart - can order online) drink it the night before. it's so good! (i heard that veggie drink is awful and you have to actually hold your nose to drink it!) that's prob. the main reason you're not showing a weight loss. also are you wearing light clothes when weighing in? i keep the lightest weight shorts and shirt that i have in my car so i'm not disappointed by a heavier clothes gain. i run into the b-room at the center, pee and change into my light clothes. if i could get naked i would! i don't even wear my usual padded bra! (TMI, for sure!!)
At the center one week after a vacation i lost 1 pound. the consultant that weighed me in started lecturing me and saying what can we do to help you, blah, blah and acting like i was this big fat failure. made me want to give up and i went out to eat that night not caring to stay on plan. i was happy w/ that 1 pound loss and they made me feel awful. then i remembered i'm doing this for me and refused to let them make me feel that way and got back on plan.
you can do this :-)

Cassie, the sugar free dessert gum is a great idea - getting some today!

Patzi, as always, you give better advice and tips than the center - Thank You! (you should be a counselor!)

Droopy pants Gina -too funny! last time i was at the Club (where i'm going tonight) a couple people asked me if had been eating and one asked me if i was on the grapefruit diet! (not sure where that came from?) LOL they kept telling me to eat, eat, eat... dang food pushers!!! i told them i ate before i came - hee hee

1bighog 12-11-2011 12:06 PM

Oh my stars. I went out with my boss and a coworker Friday night. First of all, you know it's either going to be a really good night or a really bad night when your boss tells you not to wear anything with your work logo on it. I literally crawled home that night (or actually, the next morning) at 3:30 am and when I woke up, I was face down and fully dressed down to my boots.

Anyway, I'm sick of the same breakfast every morning...slice of bread & cheddar cheese under the broiler with a boiled egg...so this morning I decided to make recipe out of the MRC cookbook. I saw quite a few that I thought looked good but I'm running low on groceries so I decided to make the Snickerdoodle cookie. It's disgusting. Has anyone had this? Wondering what I did wrong. It's very rubbery and it just doesn't taste good. It calls for oatmeal and I know I'm not supposed to use instant. I had old-fashioned and quick oats in my pantry and I used the old-fashioned. Everything else seemed so simple--beaten eggs, cinnamon, artificial sweetener, vanilla pudding supplement--not sure where I went wrong.

bigdog 12-11-2011 12:20 PM

bighog - wahahahahaha!!! too funny re: Night out ! for the snickerdoddles, when i made them it tasted like egg baked oatmeal so i started using just egg whites and they came out a little crispier... also before i ate them, i put in the broiler to crisp them up. i also sprinkled cinnamon and splenda on top before putting in broiler... i am still looking for that perfect MRC cookie - i want crunch!!!

i had turkey sausage w/ my egg this am for some variety and cinnamon toast... i also like mozzarella cheese mixed with my scrambled egg in the am so it's not so eggy....i microwave in a mug.... good on half of a lite english muffin too (tastes like egg mcmuffin open face..)

All- remember me swearing off protein bars.?..well forgot i ordered a bunch of pure protein bars from Amazon when i was ordering some CDs so they came in friday... great price BTW, $7.55 for box of 6...but dang, my weight loss is at a stall because here i go again, eating one or two a day. i've now put them in my car so i can't just reach in the pantry and grab one.
also, the other night, my DH (Chef) bought home a box of homemade cookies, i was like, you need to put them in your car and don't keep them in the house. he's like, they are for me. i told him i didn't care if they were in the house and i would eat them. so he says, no you won't, you have willpower. i was like, no i don't I WILL eat them...no power. he hid them and i did look for them and gave up! he's the type of person if we had a box of chocolate, he would expect it still to be there a month later. me, i would think about that box of chocolate every minute until it was gone!!!!

We joke that when people start at our work place we need to weigh them when they start, we guarantee they'll gain 10 in a year...constant potlucks, patients bringing goodies, esp this time of year. I could use a little extra money right now but am not going to work extra because there is so much good stuff there and it wouldn't help me! Then they joked I lost the weight because I was no longer working very much...it does help to not be around the stuff.

Making the Jamie Eason turkey meatloaf muffins again today. yum, they are good:) Stomach still not up to everything, but good enough to be fully OP.

Bwahahahaha....this is soooo much like my husband and I! In fact, after I read this, I read it to my husband and he goes...wow! That is us! I think maybe this might be his eye opener that the candy he has stashed in his desk should be moved cause I know exactly where it is. Thanks ladies for the laughs today...I really needed them!:D

camaswa 12-11-2011 03:21 PM

1bighog - what a riot about your Friday night! hey, it happens.... And I didnt like the snickerdoodle either. I gave up on weirdly concocted recipes, they just seem like lame substitutes for the real thing. I have some ground turkey, so today I will try that mini-meatloaf for the week ahead. That one sounds really good.

Gina- you really sound like you have had a rough go with that stomach flu. Bummer.

and Bigdog, i have the same kind of husband- he actually buys stuff then FORGETS it. It is amazing and maddening. We have the same deal: he has to keep his candy bars in his car. But he works from home and likes things such as chips and cookies at lunch. Sometimes he actually puts them in his desk drawer. Sad but true.

do you ever wonder what happens to the people who post regularly then just disappear? I wonder about Razorback Candi, who lost like 100 pounds. And tdkTara. (something like that) Her posts were so intelligent. I just love it when I feel like I know people and can share in their successes. And I am finding i miss them when they stop posting.

My goal for this week coming up is to keep my head down and eat really clean. I'm lucky i got through this last week without a gain, but if I am going to make 5 pounds in December, this is the week to make progress. My daughter comes home from college on the 18th and will want all the foods she has missed. For one thing, we LOVE the peppermint bark from William Sonoma, and it is hard to imagine not continuing that tradition. Its funny how important traditions are to kids. As for me, a drop of peppermint in hot choc HNS would be fine. I also put sugar free egg nog flavor in a vanilla creamy - not bad!

Have a good week all. Keep your heads down!

i was just thinking the same thing -what the heck is going on w Razorback and some of the other people that used to post here? wondering if they dropped off program, or what they are doing now? would love to have some status updates. my DH keeps eating all my cottage cheese so bought two containers today! leaving the Christmas party tonight, he had to drive by Sonic and get his fast food fix.... i got home and had some cherry fat free sugar free jello :-) i started out at the party w/ a cajun bloody mary, then champagne and then red wine. i'm thinking i'm not going to be feeling too good tomorrow....LOL! i had super tight black jeans on and a tight fitted sweater - to avoid overeating!!! it worked and everyone was like Wow! i pretty much just had a bite of what iwanted to taste and that was it.

:-)

i bought the dessert sugar free gum today - yum!!! key lime and chocolate mint - it's really good and you can blow bubbles with it too!! i'm thinking all the chewing would at least burn some calories , right? :-)

Okay...this is too funny since we've been talking about it. Our hiding place for goodies this time of year has become the garage freezer...I still know the stuff is there, but you have to go outside in the cold, so thus, not real tempting...and outta site, mostly outta mind. DH & kids bought Christmas cookies at a fundraiser yesterday and hid them there. I went to check them out because i'm doing a cookie exchange (not for me to eat, I'll end up giving them away) and wanted to see what they would still like to have...I open the freezer and there's a full Pizza Hut pizza sitting in the freezer! What?? I knew my husband got it when he helped with a youth thing tonight, and it was so sweet that he hid it there since that is what I miss more than chocolate...pizza! But it made me laugh.

Went shopping tonight and tried on size L (was XL and 1X previous to this)...they fit...but I could tell within 5 more lbs it would be too big!! So I didn't buy. I'll wait. Bought some cute black boots instead. What a great feeling. Makes missing most of my holiday favorites worth it. Like camaswa, I've been having a few feelings of "am I really not going to have _________ this year??" Oy! One day at a time. The 24th in the evening will be hard...and the 26th shopping with my sister...other than those days I just may make it through this.

Hang in there! I went through the same thing last year, but then I would remind myself that if I stuck with the diet plan and lost the weight, then I only had to give up _______ for one holiday season. I'm looking forward to being able to have some of my favorite treats this year that I missed last year... just in a lot more moderation.

Just tell yourself that none of your favorite treats goes away forever, just for right now. ;)

Happy Monday everyone.

I hope everyone is doing great and glad that the stomach bug has gone for everyone (can't imagine, that is SO horrible).. We've had major allergy issues here for weeks (hubby, both girls, and I all have bad allergies)..ugh.

I was up this AM but had steak & 2 stuffed mushrooms yesterday. I try not to eat beef too much on the plan b/c it's so dense it makes me gain or stall slightly. I did try to make the stuffed mushrooms as OP as I could, but when I figured that out with the other veggies, I was really over on my amount. I had spaghetti squash with a spray of butter and garlic salt and it was pretty good. I bought a huge bottle of the fiber tablets @ Wal-Mart and they have been working pretty well for me to "keep things moving" :).

Here's a recipe I tried yesterday. It's my own version of a "Mock Tuna Noodle Casserole".
1 can tuna
4 oz cooked broccoli cut up
1/2 pkg of HNS Chicken Soup (clear)
garlic and onion seasonings
40 cal tortilla cut into strips
1/2 oz cheese

I cooked broccoli alone first (just to warm), and also cooked the tuna mixed with tortillas, soup and seasonings to warm. Then added broccoli and cooked some more. Oh, yea. I added the cheese at the end to melt on top. It wasn't the best, but it was a decent, very light, totally OP meal. I think I could do this a few times a week for lunch. I know having tuna is a good way to help lose. Way better than beef.

I also made the "Rockin Eggnog" recipe from the center. I know a bunch of you don't like to cook with the HNS or use their recipes, but I really enjoyed this one. I didn't have any more Vanilla Creamy pudding so I used a caramel one I got online (ProtiDiet I think, same nutritional values as MRC's stuff). I took the packet of pudding, 6 oz water, 4 ice cubes, 1 tsp rum extract, and dash of nutmeg. Blended until smooth and add another dash of nutmeg and it was really good. I would add a bit more rum extract (real would be better :)), but overall it was a great treat.

Bigdog..did you post all your recipe links on the MRC Recipe page as well? I think I'm going to try the mini turkey meatloaf and the quiche recipe that Patzi posted this week. I need something new. I totally know what you mean about weighing in and not even wearing your padded bra! :) When it's warm (most of the time here), and when I'm a bit lighter I wear gym shorts and one of those shelf-bra tanks from Gap. I'm big chested and those don't hold me up too well, but I'll wear them to weigh-in b/c I figure my bra weighs 1/2 a lb or so! :) Right now I still wear gym shorts and a light t-shirt to weigh in.. I even take off hair bands, clips, jewelry, etc. :)

Thanks, teacherlady. I've been telling myself that and totally wasn't tempted at Thanksgiving, but maybe its because I've been at it a little longer now and I'm feeling a little weak:) I think if I stay OP for the next 2 weeks and see the scale move, that will be my biggest motivation.

Rocki, great recipes!! i'm making the turkey meatloaf muffins today and buying the spinach for the quiche both sound wonderful! another fave we cook at least one time a week is the ground turkey or lean ground beef tacos - i use 3/4 hard shell and pile on the shredded lettuce and green onions and put the seasoned meat (3 oz) and shredded 1 oz cheese on top... and salsa. my DH loves it! he of course eats like 4 or more of them (not far he has a high metabolism!!)

Woke up with another migraine this morning....... This is the 3rd one I have had since last Thursday. Makes it tough to stay on plan since I usually get nauseous. I am beginning to wonder if the HNS's have anything to do with it!

BIGDOG -you are getting so close to your goal! How exciting .... your goal is very similar to mine and we're the same height. If you're like me you probably carry your weight well.......people ususally cannot believe I weigh as much as I do (I am big boned....really!)

Hope everyone has a great Monday :)

I have migraines, and I have never been bothered by the gel type HNS, however the powdered ones have artifical alcohol sugars I believe, or something like that, forgot what the center had told me, so I cannot drink the powdered ones as sometimes they will trigger a migraine..

I made the quiches. How do I know how much I can have? I forgot to add some seasoning, so it's a bit bland, but smells delicious! :) I was able to get 15 mini muffins out of it. I used 1 whole egg, 1/2 cup egg whites, 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, 10 oz spinach. I figured it out per quiche, but still not sure :)..

27 calories
1 carb
1.26g fat
3.13 protein

I guess to get all my veggies I would have to eat 6.6 of them. That would be 20g protein and 6g carbs, 8.3g fat and 178 calories (that seems like a lot, but that would be my whole lunch).. Sorry for all the posting/rambling..just trying to be on program :)

Rocki..
Anytime I tried a new recipe, I took it to the center when I weighed in, and they would figure out how much I could have to stay OP. I would do that vs. guessing, if you really want to stay OP.. 6 seems like a lot, but not sure which program you are on. Take your data, carb, protein data with you when you take the recipe to the center.. I was always OP while losing weight so had them do the work and they did not mind at all.
