it's 1/4 cup uncooked oatmeal and it's one serving. i'll make 2 or 3 servings and then divide up. i'm waiting on my diet direct order for the vanilla pudding stuff :-) i tried making a recipe before that called for it and used just protein powder....yuck! or maybe i should have added vanilla extract or something. i can't cook btw! and no one will eat anything i cook but my dogs. lol (they love my scrambled eggs)

Hi Rocki, of course I remember you!! I started at the center after they ran a special. They have all new staff, and I have found them to be pushy and not very informed about factual issues....the orientation class almost made me gag with the lies they were telling. It was all I could do to go, but I did for the accountability. With the special you got 18 boxes of the HNS and 6 weeks for $99. After that they were running a re-sign special for $179 for 17 weeks including the saliva test (which I don't believe in doing there). I was still going to sign up for it and just not do the test, and called in to do so.

After telling the receptionist I wanted to extend, she said she would have a consultant call me back. She never did, and I called 3 times! When they finally did the next day, they said the special was over ..... sooooooooooooo, I'm done with them. I still believe in the eating portion of the plan and am following that and journaling, using Nectar, Pure Protein and Walker products for my extra protein. And if I don't feel like using them, I just up my lean protein by 2 oz per serving. I do wish I had the accountability of weighing at the center, and am trying to figure out another alternative for that.

Good luck Rocki .... we both know the plan works if you follow it, so cheers to us!!

this diet does work but i don't care for the center at all and am finding it hard to even go once a week to weigh in. they give me no tips at all and it just seems so fake...if i ever mention i'm at a stand still or ate something i shouldn't they immediately jump on me to sell me supplements - they take my blood pressure every time i go now even though i told them i never had high blood pressure and know that's its normal. but since i'm prepaid till Dec., i'll still force myself to go each week. i had to remind them to measure me, even had to tell them when i lost the first 10 lbs to put me on the bd. oh, well, i'm self motivated and read these posts for motivation.

if you do want accountablilty, have you thought about going to Wt watchers (cheaper) and you could do this food plan but go there to weigh in? i know that sounds crazy but they are very motivating and share good recipes and advice on getting more activity in. or one time i asked my doctor if i could come in her office and have someone weigh me each week so i could be accountable to someone. i never followed up but she said i could do that! :-) i know some people would go to a GNC or somewhere they have a paid scale that you pay a quarter and it prints out a tape w/ your weight on it....

Thanks for posting this--it's my goal to get off all those meds, too!

20 pounds gone!!! woo hoo!!!

weighed in today and lost 3 more pounds for a total of 20.5 pounds!! i weighed at home first and was 178.5 so tried on 3 "weigh in" outfits before i went to MRC for official weigh in. i had a cotton shirt and the lightest shorts i could find! i have been disappointed the last two times because i had heavier clothes on and didn't reflect much of a loss so was prepared this time! so i'll make sure i leave those "weigh in" clothes in the car. had to rush back and let you guys know! since you have kept me motivated day by day. i couldn't call my friends because none of them know i'm on this diet. i keep pretty private and for the first time told my husband! he's helped alot by grilling lean meats and fixing huge salads. he's in great shape so pretty much eats what i do and adds more carbs, popcorn, dessert (things i can't eat) All good! i thought i would miss those things but i have my protein bars if i crave chocolate or add diet lemon lime soda to my HNS or have a creamy chocolate shake or pudding a day so don't miss desserts....

It seems the centers are so different from place to place. I mean, they all push the supplements, but BigDog's sounds especially bad at the support. Mine is ok, although the girls are all so young and they tell you such stupid things about the supplements. By the way, did you see the 3FC moderator's reply to my post about the Carb/Fat Blocker? Go read it!

I do like the MRC basic diet better than weight watchers. All that points stuff was mind-boggling and my loss was too slow on it to keep me motivated. But obviously thousands of people love it!

Congrats, BigDog, on a good loss!

My weigh-in today: 2 pounds. MET OCT GOAL of 7 pounds!!!!

Congratulations!!! You just keep it up!! I am like you...don't like to share my journey too much, and have a hubby that is very supportive eating everything I do...plus some :) LOL

Congrats Bigdog on the great loss this week. :D Keep up the good work.

I did my second WI of the week and also did measurements. I was up 1.5 lbs. That is not making be very happy. I understand that the scales don't always show what is "really" happening but I wasn't expecting a gain. I commented that I was about 24oz of water short yesterday and the counselor told me that was probably the reason for the gain. The body comp showed an increase of 1.5 lbs in water. So guess I better get to drinking that water. On a better note, I have lost a total of 43 inches. That does make me happy. :) I met my October goal and have lost a total of 20lbs which also makes me happy. I'm just having issues focusing on the positive and not the gain.

Hopefully next week will be full of loss and NO gain.

Hi

I had maintenance weigh in and gained 1/2 pound, so that is 1pound gained for the week. I spoke to the consultant and decided to do the Medi Quick for three days starting tomorrow. Refused to buy the bars and the shakes, as I do not take them. So just bought the vanilla shakes. Center suggested I do the shake morning and afternoon and regular meal at night. Will see how I do on weigh in on Tuesday.. Have no idea why I have gained, but will go over my journal, and find the answer.. One pound leads to two, etc. so I want to be 5 pounds under goal, and now I am 4.

Candi...
I am not on facebook, so I asked my friend to post for me... She sent me your posting and your picture and my goodness, it is something. You should be so proud. You deserve the recognition for sure.

Congrats to all those that lost weight.

Hi guys!

Oh my gosh - I started in April and I dropped about 15 lbs adn then kind of lazied my way through the summer - staying on plan, and messing up every third or fourth day or so - just enough to keep me at the same weight for the past 6 months. Nice, huh?

I came back to the center - and restarted.

I am on day 5. i am having a fairly good time of it. I got some ketosis stick tester things. I haven't gotten a positive result yet, probably because of the sugar free turtles I thought I could get by with on Day 3. Stupid!

Anywho...I like those snickerdoodles. I make a little cake out of the hot chocolate and unsweetened cocoa and splenda. Its delish!

I TRULY TRULY need support. So please give it when you see this!!!!! :)

Goodluck to all of you.

May we follow our diets to a T, and not do BLT's...(just learned this lil' phrase - Bites Licks and Tastes) I am guilty of BLT-ing so MUCH. Its surprising how difficult it is for me not to... Houston, I think we've found the problem.

Good luck at dinner tonight. And after dinner. My former self would eat a big fat bowl of cereal - preferably shredded wheat - but no more.

Those days are in my behind...and soon, they will beout of my behind and behind me.

just read Suzanne's/3FC comment - very cool! i love this diet and am not hungry between meals...it's perfect for me..i don't even have sugar cravings or hormone issues like i used to (prob becuz i was low sugar/high sugar all the time) WW used to work for me but for the past couple years did not. it was too flexible for me. i did like the WW group meetings and met some great people there over the years. it might just be me (re: the MRC center) i don't care for the one on one meetings - some of the stuff i hear them tell people is such BS..pushing the supplements and their HNSs. im in sales so guess i should understand they are "salespeople" but i don't like to see people get taken advantage of. and maybe me being in sales don't like being sold :-) one good thing though is they kind of leave me alone now and don't push the supplements... BTW, i love Diet Direct. i saw on there this baking protein powder that you can make cookies, etc. with... i got my order today of the Wonderslim products (i got the variety pk of shakes, protein bars and dark chocolate cream pudding/shake) supposed to be same as Protidiet which is same as MRC stuff (16 grams protein) i'll get slammed at work a lot so will eat a protein bar for lunch or for breakfast...
Sorry, i'm Ms. motormouth tonight... congratulations on your loss!!!

i was really bummed when the scales didn't show a loss so made sure (w/ advice from this board) to wear the lightest clothes i could and drank like a half cup of HNS and went in early to weigh in! :-) it is just water weight and that's why you showed a gain so next week you will show a loss! i really had to focus on getting all my water in this week and it worked. i just need to keep it up week by week so i can keep losing. in the past, i'll get comfortable and start sliding back to old ways. not this time!!!
