Pre-conditioning almost over!

Well, I had to make an adjustment to my profile because I was off a little with the starting weight. I went in for my 2nd WI, which will be the last one before I take the meal class tomorrow morning, and I've lost another 3.5 lbs! So, 6.5 lbs in 7 days. And I have to admit, I had an ice cream cone on Saturday and some chips :o but really starting with Sunday I have been sticking with the plan and haven't had any caffeine since Friday! I'm just so excited! I don't think I've ever lost 6.5 lbs in a week.. I would always exercise but then eat everything under the sun. Ok, I'm done for now.. just had to share.

My weight at home is usually a pound off of the weight at the center. I weigh in the morning before breakfast and with no clothes. I weigh at the center in mid-morning fully clothed! LOL

I weigh first thing in the morning with no clothes, but at the center, it is usually like 1pm or later, so as someone else said, all the food and water intake since morning affects the numbers. :( I just put a new battery in my scale as it was flashing low and I know it won't be accurate at all like that.

JenB - Congrats! That is wonderful! :D

Hi..
I am still on week two stabilization, and lost 2 pounds on Tuesday, and gained one pound today at weigh in, so total for week is 1 pound lost.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

GoalBound 03-25-2011 12:32 PM

Patzi, Did they say if stabilization will be like a yoyo while figuring out your triggers? I mean... is that how it works or do they expect you to pretty much stay at one weight while they add in the other foods? I hope this doesn't sound rude or anything, I am just curious.

Congrats on another pound lost! (If you are still wanting to lose, that is. lol)

teacherlady79 03-25-2011 02:31 PM

Yay Patzi! Stabilization seems to be going well for you so far!

Well, I did pretty good out of town the last two nights. Interestingly, being back in my college town really brought on the cravings. Turns out most of my memories are centered around eating and/or drinking... or doing stuff while eating/drinking.

I did fine Wednesday night--we ate at Red Lobster and I stayed on plan and tried to get extra water in.

Yesterday, I did pretty good until the afternoon. We went to shoot pool at one of my old hangouts, and I treated myself to a small white russian--one of my favorite drinks. And, oh my, was it good. Then I immediately downed a 20 oz bottle of water, lol. The funniest part was that I got a little drunk off that one drink! Apparently, not drinking for 6 mos makes for a lightweight! At dinner, we went to one of my favorite restaurants and I did sirloin & veggies, and gave in to the dessert menu and made hubby split a lithuanian torte with me. But, again, I'm ok with that. I tried to drink lots of water last night to counteract the sodium from eating out, and otherwise enjoyed myself.

The only regret I have is this morning. I ate my cottage cheese and melba again (I brought it with me for breakfasts, knowing the continental breakfast at the motel would NOT be anywhere near on plan), but then hubby left an otis spunkmeyer muffin out (leftover from the motel bfast he ate). I gave in and ate it. At least it was one of the "mini" ones, so not too bad in calories. I'll just have to own my OP decisions, drink tons of water, and add some extra exercise in to try to minimize the damage. :^:

Goalbound..
Would love to lose a few more pounds, but I did not tell center that, as towards the end, where I was on a stall, they wanted me to buy more weeks, and I refused, as I bought more weeks when I did not meet goal when they told me, so when I hit the goal figurevthey had, I went on stabilization.

I was told there are ups and downs in stabilization, and they did not want me to go over 2 pounds, if I did, would have to address it. Starches and fruit are a real trigger for me, so I have been careful to choose the low cal fruit like berries, vs. high sugar fruit like bananas, and only starch I did add was beans. The day I eat the extra starch, I do not have the extra fruit. I was told to add the starch and fruit three times a week, so I alternate. I would never think of adding popcorn for the starch, as I am allowed a cup, and I know I would get in trouble with that. I could eat the whole bag. LOL.

So we shall see. There are 6 weeks of stabilization, and really would like to lose a bit more, if not goal weight is fine. If any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Hi... When I go out, I call restaurant first and ask them if they can grill some fish for me, and steam veggies plain, and that has never been a problem.Even when I don't call, I find a restaurant that serves chicken, fish, meat dishes wil do this for me.. I also order a side salad, and use one of their lite dressings, or just some oil and vinegar, light on oil. I bring an HNS, and put that in my glass of water, and bring melba toast with me.

Center has suggestions for Outback,Olive Garden, Italian Restaurants, Steakhouses, etc.. If you are interested in anything in particular, here is the list I have, I can tell you what they suggest
Casual Dining, bar & grills
Italian,Steakhouses, Seafood, Mexican, Asian, Indian.

I will check back later to see if I can be of any more help here.

To give you an idea, if you go to Olive Garden, they suggest you order the Venetian Apricot chicken, tell them no sauce, with steamed broccoli, no butter and do not eat the breadsticks..

Hi...
Is there anywhere on the forum that I can look at the two meal plan. I do not mean the Meta Quick, but the two meal plan. I wish I was told about this previously, as I travel lots and this would have been great..

Thanks

I believe someone scanned it in under the post titled "anyone on the 2-meal plan". I received the paperwork today and all the food choices are the same as the other Meta-Slim plans.

Breakfast - You have to eat breakfast
1. Protein from group 1 or group 3 (either 4 oz or 6 oz - whatever level you were on on the other plan)
2. Starch (1 serving - same list)
3. Veggies (4oz cooked or 8 oz raw)
4. Fruit (1 serving - same list as before)
and an HNS

Snack HNS
(can have a second HNS if eating dinner instead of lunch)

Either Lunch or Dinner (dinner is recommended)
1. Protein - 1 serving from group 3 or group 2 (Twice a week)
2. Starch - 1 serving
3. Veggies (4oz cooked or 8 oz raw)
HNS

Snack HNS

You are required to use 4 HNS daily - and I can have up to 5 (this might depend on your weight) up to 3 fiber drinks are optional.

This is less actual food so many people do feel hungrier on this plan (per my consultant) The HNS can be moved around a bit depending on which meals you are eating.

I'm excited about having fruits and veggies with my breakfast in the morning and I really don't mind some hunger. I do plan on using several HNS that I can eat rather than drink and picked up some sugar-free gum. You can use bars and shakes just like with the other plans.

Hope this helps,
Mariah

NSV! (and I've been needing those as I've plateaued the last couple of weeks)...

I came home to visit family for my Spring Break. We went shopping and I bought several M tops and was able to buy much more from boutiques than ever before. Boutiques before were (find a blousey...loose top and hope the L fits...) didn't have to worry this time!

Also....my mom gave me a pair of jeans she didn't like...and they fit! Yup...I can now wear my mom's clothes! Woohoo!!

I will be back home Sunday and get to weigh in next week....hopefully I will have a victory there too!

I can't wait to go shopping at boutique type stores and actually have choices about what I want to buy. Congrats! You are such an inspiration.

I am so happy for you... You are doing so well, and isn't it a wonderful feeling to be able to buy new clothes in smaller sizes. I know where you are coming from, as I am finally out of those tunic type tops and wearing a top, where I don't have to hide the fat. And the jeans, too.. Woohoo is right. Enjoy this moment, it is wonderful and you deserve it.

Hi...
It says about the Apricot chicken, as I had mentioned and then it says
Olive Garden's salad is great, tell them to omit the onions, croutons and salad dressing and add grilled chicken or salmon on the side for a great meal.

I tell the server I am on a special and restricted diet, and tell him how to prepare my food here, and never have had a problem. You may also want to call restaurant ahead of time, as I sometimes do, and ask for manager and tell him what you will want and they will be aware of it, but I have never had to do this here, but do at a new restaurant that I have never tried.

Hope this helps and by the way, Happy Anniversary.. You will be fine, enjoy yourself and have a great time.

Just saw your note in Indian Restaurants and it says...

Indian food is prepared with great spices which add loads of flavor. Avoid coconut milk, curry sauces and rice. Tandoori dishes are great as they are baked in a high heat clay oven with ample spices and very little oil.
Example... Tandoori chicken, Fish, Shrimp or Lamb and ask for steamed
vegetables instead of rice.

Congrats Britt! I actually have to drive down to Fayettville to go to Catherines to buy things or I go through Roamans or Woman Within catalogs. I've held onto jeans for several years because I kept thinking.. one of these days! My "can't wear" jeans stack is larger than my "can wear" stack but I'm hoping that will change soon! Keep up the awesome work! My first target with MRC is to be down 72 pounds by September 25th.. which is right in the middle of football season.. so I'm hoping to root on the hogs and feel more comfortable doing it! :-)

First I hav been 100% on plan with no cheating. I have about 4 hours between my meals. I drink 120 oz or more of water per day and added 1-2 glasses of Chrystal Light with fiber and added 2 tsp of Benafiber to it daily (you could use the fiber drinks from the center). I take 1 multivitamin from Walmart, calcium, magnesium and D from Walmart and 2 Krill oil from MRC. I use 4 supplements a day (3 with meals and 1 after dinner - 3 clear and 1 creamy most days but sometimes all clear - I have tried all but 4 of the various supplements and try to vary which ones I use each day. I usuall exercise 3-4 times a week 30-45 min per session (walk or walking vidoe 1-2 times a week and elipitical trainer 1-2 times a week).

*Breakfast is usually eggs with either bread, tortilla, or I make pancakes using cottage cheese, egg and oatmeal.

*Lunch - 3-4 days a week raw salad veggies with albacore tuna, chicken breast, or turkey breast with either a clementine, strawberries, blueberries, grapefruit, fresh pinneapple, cantelope or an apple (I will add watermelon when in season). (on the other days eat light have cottage cheese mixed with vanilla pudding supplement and berries and then have raw veggies like cucumber, celery, tomato, green peppers and green onion)

*Dinner - 1 day a week I usually eat sirloin or pork loin usually grilled. 2-3 days a week I eat grilled chicken breast. 1 day a week ground turkey breast. 2-3 days a week fish (cod, flounder, albacore tuna, talapia, orange roughy)

Usually I eat cooked veggies either microwaved, steamed, grilled, or lightly sauted using Pam cooking spray (broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, spaghetti squash, asparagus, spinach, green peppers, green onion, snow peas, green beans, yellow summer squash and zucchini) but we do normally have salad once a week for dinner

For startches I have used melba snacks (2-3 circles), a 50-calorie tortilla,
1/4 c quinoa (once or twice a week), slice of toast (45-cal) or beans.

I use wishbone spritzers for salad dressing, many herbs, and I cook using pam nonstick sprays.

I have 4 kids and a hubbie to feed and so we go through the various fruits, veggies and meat very quickly making it easy to add variety. The consultants at my center do recommend as much variety in your food choices as is possible. I have used meal replacement bars twice when in a hurry (for breakfast with an HNS). I typically go from Sat-Tue without losing any weight and then Wed-Fri I lose 3-4 lbs (4.5 this week). If hungry or tempted I chew sugarless gum (usually about 1 stick a day).

My family eats what I eat - though I do usually add a startch or additional friut to their dinner but I do not keep any foods in the house that are major temptations for me. I actaully like feeling slightly hungry at times knowing that it is a sign that I am losing weight. I eat slowly and try to sleep 7 hours a night.

I think the key is that I decided in the beginning that I was not going to knowingly cheat (mistakes may happen, but I will not choose to go off plan). Not even one bite. I have more energy and just feel better overall and I remind myself of that daily. I have started reading positive quotes to help me think right when my tastebuds want to take over!

I hope this is helpful,
Mariah

teacherlady79 03-26-2011 01:51 PM

Well, even with going out of town and eating out a lot (more sodium), as well as a dessert this week, I'm still down 1/2 lb. TOTALLY happy with that.

Again, only lost about 6 pounds in the last month, so they did my tanita and measurements today. I'm down 13 inches--which is fantastic, since I only lost 6 pounds!

The tanita was weird today, though. It showed my fat % was up a little, but my fat mass was down. It also showed that I lost a pound in muscle mass, which doesn't seem right to me. They tried to lecture me about making sure I'm eating all my protein and taking all my supplements to protect my muscle mass, and I told them I eat my full protein portion at every meal and max out my supplements everyday. They said to just keep doing that and they'll do another tanita in a few weeks--if I"m still showing muscle loss, they may switch me to metabalance.

Channer MRC newbie

I just started MRC and have gone through the conditioning. I thought I felt some changes in my clothes. I weighed in and lost 7 lbs! I just went over my meal plan(beige) and will be changing to new one this week. I have never felt better in my life. :D

momoffour 03-26-2011 08:19 PM

Teacherlady79 - Congrats on the inches lost, 13 is amazing even if the weight is coming off slower than you may want it to. :carrot:

Channer - It sounds like you're off to a great start! Congrats! :carrot:

I bit the bullet and I signed up with MRC! Going to start on Monday with the HCG plan and will go in and talk about the menu planning. Currently I'm on the pre-conditioning.

Very excited, but also a bit nervous about how this will all work out since I'm going to do the HCG plan and it's a very low calorie plan.

Question: can you do a balsalmic vinegar and olive oil for a homemade salad dressing? I brought that up to my consultant on the first interview and she said no because of the olive oil, but it's listed as an allowed condiment? But perhaps not on the HCG plan?

Very interested to find out what is allowed on the HCG plan. I'm supposed to be on it for the first 4 weeks or until I lose 20 lbs.

Thanks for the help!

GoalBound 03-26-2011 11:33 PM

Channer, sound like you are off to a great start!!

ZeeFraug: I don't know anything about the HCG program, but I wish you luck on it. :)

I weighed in two days in a row early this week and am kind of avoiding going in. I have been on plan, but just am not loosing anymore. I have been hoovering around this weight for the whole month. My husband comes home next weekend and I really wanted to be at goal. So close, yet I feel so far away.

I hope this is helpful,
Mariah

I hear ya. It seems the closer I get to goal, the more obstacles I have and more of a struggle it is. I have been bouncing around on my weight in the last month, and only lost six pounds. I was averaging 10+ pounds a month when I started, so it's been frustrating to slow down so much. It doesn't help when some of the consultants at my center start putting lots of pressure on me and make me feel like it's my fault, and that it would be better to lose the weight faster--no, it's natural to stall, and the only reason they push to lose weight faster is because time is money on this plan (so to speak), and this way they can push additional supplements.

It will happen for us, just keep plugging along. :)
