  • Yes it came from the recipe section on the forum.

Here is basically what I did (I think I remember correctly)

    -2 pounds ground turkey 93/7
    -1 tablespoon pepper
    -1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
-1 teaspoon each garlic powder, ground ginger, and roasted ground coriander
    -1 tablespoon rubbed sage
    -2 tablespoons fennel seeds

Mix, patty and fry up in skillet.

I think those amounts are close to correct....you might want to double check me in the recipe post just in case.

I make this recipe with bison. A wonderful change from turkey and chicken.
  • Patzi, I'm sure it's ok to post the code here. I had gotten it in an email, but then I think I accidentally deleted the email.

If you could post the code here, I'd appreciate it--I'm starting to run low on things, and I'd rather order from dietdirect than get it from the center.

    Thanks,
    Natalie
  • Hi! I'm a lurker. :-] The code is holiday10 and it's posted on the website homepage.
  • I guess a (re)introduction is in order!

Almost 2 years ago I got to goal and maintained for about 6 months. I started with WW for the first 25 lbs and then switched to MRC for the remainder. Alas, I decided that I wasn't as addicted to sugar as I am... As I gained weight I was depressed, but didn't have the motivation to turn myself around.

I'm back on MRC; doing it by myself this time. The good news is that I'm down 3.2 pounds in 3 days!
  • So I have decided to enroll in my first 5K for March. I start training on Saturday. Honestly I will probably start training tomorrow morning since New Years I can almost guarantee I am going to be exhausted. So far the menues made easy program hasn't been too bad. I am hoping to go in next Wednesday for a WI. WOrk schedule and where I live keeps me from going weekly. I think this 5K run will be really good for me. Totally excited!

I did my first 5K this year as well (in October). However, I was with a big group and we mostly walked it.
I am anxious for another one, so I can do a run/walk. Good luck to you on your training. Which training program are you using?
  • Quote: @Sherral -- I'm so sorry to hear that you and your family are struggling. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

@Cassondra-- how exciting! Good luck with getting back on plan and losing some weight for your big day. I had every intention of losing before our wedding, but I was so busy and stressed out and just not emotionally motivated to do it--and now I regret that I didn't try harder. I see how great I look now--a year after our wedding--and I look at our wedding pictures, and I wish I looked as good in the pictures as I do now, if that makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I looked beautiful that day--for the weight I was at. But now I will always have to look at those pictures as being part of my "fatty" era; it's just disappointing, as I don't usually have lots of pictures taken of me, and we so rarely get so dressed/glammed up.
Thanks so much, appreciate your kind support. Down 1/2 yesterday, that was a suprise!
  • Yay to everyone that is doing well. It looks like we are heading off to a great 2011!

It is supposed to hit 70 degrees here today so I think I am going to take my daughter for a walk at the park this afternoon once the chill burns off. She will love to see the ducks. It will be my first true test to see how much of my strength has come back since my pneumonia. I am going to take it slow and just do what I can.

I tried to get some ground turkey yesterday but all the lean ground was gone. I'll try again when I go grocery shopping next week. I'm stocked up on other stuff though. I am going to do a pork roast today but I have learned from my mistakes of last week. LOL!
  • I must have hit another plateau this week. I only lost .5 lb when I weighed in yesterday. This is so frustrating. I am following plan 100%. I have not "cheated" at all. I know I am supposed to hit these and they are supposed to be good things, but when your goal is to make the scale go down it doesn't feel good when it barely moves at all. ARRRRRG.

I don't know if you are, but be sure you are eating those three-times-a-week meats at dinner. I stall out when all I eat is chicken and turkey. I have found I have to give myself the beef, pork, shrimp, lamb a couple times a week to keep me going. They are on program....so be sure to get those in. I think my body stops losing because its not getting enough fat maybe (which those three-times-a-week meats are fattier). Also, my center said that often cottage cheese can cause stalls...I don't really eat it, but if you are, maybe try dropping it out for a few days. And keep working hard....I know its rough to not see the scale move, but you could be losing inches of fat and not muscle (which is a good thing- muscle burns fat, so the more you have the better). Stick with it and talk through your frustrations with your center. They can help you!

Thanks so much. I did do the cottage chesse twice this week so maybe that is why. I will try to stay away from substituting it for protein during lunch. The red meats I try to do at least once a week. I'm trying to stay positive. Thanks for the info.
  • So I had some friends/blog readers ask about MRC, so I wrote a blog post about it. If you want to check it out... its here at http://razorbackbritt.blogspot.com/2...ay-on-mrc.html

I didn't give them the exact plan, just the general idea of the program so they can get a feel for it. I figured with new years resolutions coming up, some of them might want to join MRC and give it a try.
