Sandi, Congrats on making the decision to start the program! It definitely works if you stick to it, and I feel like I am totally learning how to make better choices for when I am done with the program!

Debi, that's great that you are feeling happy and full of joy! Awesome!!

Also, they told me I was only required to drink 2 drinks a day, 3 for him. Are different centers run differently?
Don't get too comfortable with the amount of weight they told you you have to lose. The first time I got VERY frustrated when I got to within 8 pounds of my goal and all of a sudden they added another 20 pounds to that 8. It's based on your body comp readings on their scale, not the weight. I quit and gained a lot back. So just be prepared for that possibility. (I think if they would have told me that was a possibility, I would have done better with it, but they didn't, just went along the whole way encouraging me that I was almost there, then all of a sudden, they added more.... I was pissed!).

And I,too, have never heard of anyone only drinking two drinks (except when they were phasing out after having lost the weight) -- it's generally 3-4.

You might want to clarify those things.

I asked her directly multiple times, because I've been reading up and never read anything below 3 drinks. She said specifically 2 for me (each time I asked) and 3 for my hubs. She said that's exactly what her and her hubs did when they were on it. I'll be sure to ask again before I sign.
My goal is 40lbs. According to the body reading printout, my target weight is 150, but I'm aiming for 140. Not sure if that affects the amount of drinks you're required to consume a day.

Anyone taking the MRC-6? If so, do you notice a difference?

Your current weight and the amount of weight you need to lose does affect the number of drinks you take in - but it seems weird that she only says 2 for you. I had to lose 53 lbs, so it's 4/day for me. You're not too far from that - so if anything, I would gather you'd need at least 3. I think if you're over 200 lbs and have close to 100 lbs to lose, they generally have you taking in as many as 5/day (from what I can ascertain from reading other peoples posts). But you're starting at about my same weight (178 for me), so it seems really strange to me that she would only recommend 2. On the bright side, that sure as heck will be alot cheaper! You'll be going through half as many boxes as I do!

MRC-6 - I took it the first month and stopped taking it the second month. It had zero negative impact on my results to stop taking it - so no, I didn't notice any difference whatsoever and I won't be repurchasing. If you want to try it, there is a slightly cheaper version called KLB5 that you can get at Bariatric Foods online (I think).

I noticed that the main ingredient is B6, so I will be replacing my MRC6 with B6 when I run out and see how that works.

I just switched over to the green menu when I made it to below 200...and it says that I am required to have 2 HNS per day, and I have the option to add 2 more, for a total of 4. So I am only required to have 2. Previously I was required to have 3, and could add two more if I wanted/needed.

I was taking MRC-6 also & at my last body comp/measurements I noticed that I wasn't really losing more inches like they said I would if I took it. I told them yesterday that I wasn't going to take it anymore because I didn't see the 2 inch loss for every 1 pound loss. They did try to get me to buy the progesterone cream. I was told it would help me because of my crazy levels of hormones from my saliva test & that it would help with my stomach area which is the one that is not slimming as fast as the rest of me. I did do a little research on it & I'm pretty sure I will get it. Has anyone else used it? What are your thoughts on the cream?

Good job to everyone!!! You can do anything you set your mind to!!
Have a great weekend!! I will be thinking about y'all on my 24 hour Relay For Life walk tomorrow morning!!!

I just started the program 2 weeks ago (I am on day 7 of the program) and have lost 10.5 pounds so far and am really excited about that. It has been good so far but it does get hard when my husband is chowing down on pizza and I am sitting there eating my chicken breast, salad and a slice of bread. I am on the green menu and am only required 2 HNS a day but I after I upped it to 4 a day I seem to be losing faster. Since I never have the money to buy 10 boxes at a time I end up spending $48 a week on the HNS. I don't take any of the supplements, I take my own prenatal vitamins, fish oil and flax seed oil since I had already been taking them before I started. My goal weight is 145 which is lower than the weight range they gave me because of my muscle mas.

The hardest thing for me was cutting back on working out. They told me I can work out a max of 200 min a week when I was working out closer to 550 min a week before I started, so I am sure I will lose some of my muscle.

Good job on your 10.5!! It is hard to watch someone eat something yummy while you are staying on plan, but I found that it gets easier as it goes along.

What are some of the meals like? I haven't gotten my menu yet so I'm anxious to find out what I'll be able to eat. From the sounds of it....very little.

I was on metabolic for only a month but I think its a good program for people who don't have too much difficulty with a very restricted diet, if you don't stay on track, it will take longer to lose & on this plan and time is of the essence since time costs money. I actually fell off because I was in the wrong environment, I got bored, and it was expensive. Like some of the others said, forget the supplements (cortitrim, mrc6, enhancer, etc.). Get your flax seed oil from a health food store. They will try to push every supplement available on you but you do not really need them. The drinks are the only important ones.

When I signed up I got a cookbook so you can use some of the supplements with some foods from the grocery store and make some delicious foods. I used to love the faux cheesecake for breakfast. It may seem like little food but you will NOT be hungry, just remember to stay away from foods that may possibly tempt you. I may go back to loosely following this for a month because it simply worked and the weight came off steadily.

Also, I'm not sure about how your location is ran but take advantage of some of the support group meetings in addition to your weigh in visits. Become friends with the people that work at your location. This made my experience enjoyable. I still to this day wonder how my MRC people are doing even though I have not been there in a year or two.

Good Luck!!!! Good advise has been given in this thread already. You can definitely do it!

I'm on Day 7 (blue menu). Can hardly wait to add back cottage cheese! I've lost a total of 4.5 pounds. Our center requires that we attend 6 classes, but if you register for 4 within a 4 week span, you get 2 weeks added for free to the end of your program. My husband isn't completely following the program (no supplements or HNS) but he's losing weight too, which he's happy about. We have our physicals in October so he is going to ask his doctor if he can do the program (on wafarin).
I do have to laugh though, because none of the staff at my center (Aurora, CO) are medical personnel, but they act so professional with the blood pressure cuff and stethescope!
One thing I've noticed is you have to ocassionally remind them you are in charge. My counselor the first day got all authorative, but when my husband walked out, it brought her back down and she let her guard down (which was his purpose).

I'm on Day 7 (Days 5-8-blue): Today - breakfast: 1 egg, 1/2 orange or 1/4 cantaloup, 1 slice breed, lunch: 4 oz meat (fish, chicken, turkey, tuna), 8 oz. salad; dinner: 4 oz. meat, 4 oz. cooked veggies, slice bread. If you can, buy the fiber beverage. It can really help when you are starving.

Good luck! I'm looking forward to the next menu, which I get to start Tuesday. I'll be able to add the meal replacement bars, I like to have a bar before working out.

It's so weird how different centers have different systems. I was on the yellow menu for Days 1-4. Now I'm on the blue menu for Days 5-10, and then I'll get a new menu, green I think, starting at Day 11, which I'll stay on on until maintenance. And my center let me have meal replacement bars and creamies starting today (Day 5).
Luckily, I haven't been tooooo hungry. The first couple days were a little rough, mostly headaches from coke withdrawals so that out-weighed the hunger. Now, I think my body is adjusting and I'm starting to feel a lot better waking up and during the day. As of yesterday, I'm down 4lbs and my hubs is down 8.5lbs. Mostly water weight, I'm sure, but I don't care! It's lbs that aren't there anymore!
