Hello everyone. I posted yesterday about just getting started. I am in preconditioning right now and have not yet gone to a WI. I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I am enjoying reading this thread so far.

Ronnie ... I LOVE cheese curds!

Here we can only get cheese curds at the Tillamook Dairy because they don't sell them in stores so I make a lot of trips to the Oregon Coast to get them.. They call them squeaky cheese.. I love them!

Cheers!
Ronnie:carrot:

I LOVE SQUEEKY CHEESE! Yay for Tillamook :-)

WELCOME Wendy and Junie04! This is a great, supportive forum. If you have any questions, I guarantee you someone will have the answer for ya! Congrats on your decision to take back your life.

@Nabeel - ouch....what's your plan to get back on track? Seriously got to flush the carbs and feel the pain of getting them back out of your system. You're strong! Do it!

Best,
Debi in FoCo, Co

Hi Junie! Welcome! This board has been really great for support. There's a fountain of knowledge about MRC on here. It's been wonderful!

nabeelmalik 05-26-2010 10:40 PM

my plan to get back on track is take it a meal per day. I was pretty good today. Tomorrow is another day :). Atleast i am cooking my meals currently for the rest of the week!

Next week around this time i want that 60 lbs rock.

@Sam: i hope you get it soon!

Hvnlymzic 05-26-2010 10:43 PM

Discouraged. Thats all...just one word...discouraged. I went to WI, expecting a loss...nope, up a half pound. UGH! So hard to have a decent week and see no loss. I know what happened...I know how to fix it, but I was hoping i didn't do enough to gain, but oh well. Stuck in the 50s for another week.

I've done my venting...and I'm done being sad. Chin up...it's a new week and I'm gonna kill it this week. I expect a big loss. This is water weight this week (salt not carbs were my downfall) and it'll slide right back off, plus some!!

Good plan - :cheer: You'll get it, I'm sure! Be very good! :-)

Hey, its OK. You KNOW your body better then anyone else, so if you say its gonna happen next week, it IS gonna happen. I know what you mean though. I've had those weeks, i'd be good and i'd be up 1 lb or down maybe 0.5 Its ok. Take that momentum and carry it over to next week. How about we both do it together and lift the curse of the fifties once and for all next Wednesday? ( if you dont get it Saturday, because that can happen for you this week too).

Thanks for posting this GWE! This really puts into words how each an every meal/bite is an important decision that gets you closer or further from your goal.
I'm going to print this and post this where I can see it every day.
Thanks again!

wendinnc 05-27-2010 06:39 AM

I did it!!! :) I made it through last nights gathering without having pizza!!! .... or brownies, or cookies, ....... I had 2 plates of salad (with oil and vinegar) and pineapple. I am so proud of myself! I CAN DO THIS!!!! Thank you all for your help and tips. I decided it was up to me if I really want to lose this weight and each positive decision, no matter how easy or hard, is going to help me get there.
I weigh in tomorrow for the first time so I will let you know if my choices paid off. I also have food instruction tomorrow so I am excited for that.
Have a great day everyone!! :)

dkmd27 05-27-2010 09:24 AM

Way to go Wendi!

Hvnlymzic 05-27-2010 09:59 AM

Yay Wendi!!

Nabeel - I'm in! Lets get out of these 50s. I'm gonna have to lose almost 5lbs I think to do it, but I could do that, right? Who knows. I'm gonna stick to plan, get my water in (which i haven't been good about) and buckle down this week to do the best I can.

Junie04 05-27-2010 12:31 PM

Way to go Wendi! I think we must have started at the same time b/c I have my instructional class tomorrow too! Good luck to you.

MEEZOOGIRL 05-27-2010 12:32 PM

Went and faced the music today.. I was expecting a gain, but it was only 1/2 a lb. Not bad for being on Vacation.. I went to the grocery store last night and am all stocked up. Time to get back to the basics..

Hvnly.. Hang in there..:goodluck: Salt is a big thing for me too.. I hold water like crazy.. My Martha Stewart friend is skinny minny... She could stand to gain weight.. I'm not sure how she eats like that and is still skinny.. Wish I had that metabolism..

Have a great Memorial Weekend everyone... See less of you next week. :hat:

Junie04 05-27-2010 12:35 PM

Thank you Joanie and Debi. I am already seeing how great you all are.

Hvnlymzic 05-27-2010 01:55 PM

Meezoo...join Nabeel and i as we move on out of the 50s...we're all in it together...we'll get out of it together! Those metabolism girls drive me insane. Ugh.

wendinnc 05-28-2010 08:24 PM

Just wanted to share that at weigh-in today (my first by the way) I was down 5 1/2 pounds!!!!!!!!! WOOOHOOOO! I am super excited..... I know that most of it is water weight, but I'll take it just the same. I am starting the meta-slim tomorrow for 4 days so send some positive energy this way for me please. I was thinking that with the holiday weekend I may as well get a jumpstart on the 4 days and not wait to start on Monday.
I hope you all have a happy and healthy :) weekend!

wendinnc 05-28-2010 08:27 PM

Junie04.... how did your instructional class go? I got some good info from it and stocked up on the HNS's. I can't wait until I am able to enjoy a chocolate pudding! :)
Keep up the good work.

GoalAug2010 05-28-2010 10:41 PM

Wow wendinnc, that's a great weigh in!

I just had my 2nd weigh in this week which put me at 3.5 lbs in the week (WHICH is a big loss for me) This put me at 31 lbs down so I got to sign the 30# board and 31# is exactly my halfway point!

That is so exciting! And good for you for not waiting till after the holiday..you'll be ahead of the game! I've been on MRC for about a month and I'm extremely pleased with the results. I lost 20 inches over my entire body and 5 in my waist alone. You'll have tough times...but just keep your focus and rely on this board for support between visits to MRC.
Sending lots of positive energy your way!!!

namaste1969 05-29-2010 03:07 PM

Congratulations on signing the 30# board!

Way to go!! The halfway point is a BIG deal.... good for you. You are an inspiration for sure. :)

GoalAug2010 05-29-2010 11:59 PM

Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I'm convinced the second half will feel like it goes faster than the first half! Now i'm so used to it, I don't even crave pasta or bread... I crave extra brown rice or wheat pasta! Isn't that the strangest thing!

dmscrap 05-30-2010 08:15 AM

So excited! I only gained 1.5 on vacation! and all we did was eat! Came back and actually stuck to the plan for at least 4 days! I can't wait to weigh in this week. :)

wchase 05-30-2010 08:06 PM

How exciting! I can't wait to be able to do that!

AngelaB 05-30-2010 11:12 PM

I haven't been here in about a week! Our exchange student is getting ready to go back to Korea, so it's been a busy week getting him ready. And the kids are out of school now too, so my computer time is a bit limited.

Anyway, I weighed in on Friday, and SOOO wanted to hit 20 lbs gone...but I was at 19. So I'll take it, it was still a 2 lb loss! And I know for sure I'll have another good loss on Tuesday or Wednesday. And I finally got my signature, so I have a ticker now. It's the little things that make me happy! :)

mtgal1453 05-31-2010 12:25 AM

I know it is the second to last day of May, but I just have to reply!

As an 18 year old who's parents are runners who have never struggled with their weight, it is nice to have adults that are on that same path as me, as people to look up to! These posts are inspiring! They make the feelings of being left out when your friends go out for ice cream and you can't and the fear of not fitting in in food-related events a little easier to bear. I know I am only on Day 2 of the meta-slim program, but I am motivated. I want to lose 29 more pounds by August 1st, so my trip to Disneyland with my parents, and my start of college is enjoyable. I'm ready to love me, and love who I'm becoming. I'm ready to wear cute clothes and to go to the pool without being self-concious. I [I]am[I] ready to change. Thank you for bring inspiring individuals.

current weight loss

So I lost my grandmother about 15 days ago:stress:, I loss 4 lbs the week of her funeral. Then the week after loss 1/2 lb and the second weight in of the week I stayed the same. So I was a little frustrated about the stalling of my weight loss, so I went in on Saturday and have loss 4 lbs. It was also time for my tinata, 4 more inches down total 41.5 inches in 99 days.:cloud9::cloud9:

So sorry to hear about your grandmother. I am an emotional eater and commend you for losing weight with such sad news. I would have most likely gained. It's the challenging times that shows us how strong we can be.

Great job with your tinata results!!!! I have only just begun... am on day 3 of the meta-slim (days 1-4) and am really looking forward to some concrete results.

I also live in Cary, NC!!! We are neighbors. :)

Keep up the great work.

Wendi, the class went great. I was able to learn more about the program and now have a better grasp on everything. I was disappointed to learn that the fruit servings went down to once per day!
I did the same as you, I stocked up on the HNS's but didn't even buy any creamies. I think I can have them now though!
I hope everything is going well for you!
