I got good news on Friday and was told that my "case" was reviewed by the board of directors & I now have a new neurosurgeon who wants to start radiation asap. I don't know if I should mention this or not at the center. I think I may not say anything b/c this will cause be to be "removed from program" from MRC until for at least 1yr from recovery time. Any thoughts? What an interesting week ladies. I hope everyone has a good week!

I agree with the comment that you should talk to your Dr. about MRC, but not necessarily talk to MRC about your Dr. If it's okay from a medical perspective, that should be the definitive answer.

FYI for anyone who has wanted to get one, Amazon has BlenderBottles on sale. Well the Blue 28 oz one is for $8. If you are buying other stuff and get to $25 it's free shipping (or if you have Amazon Prime)

Counting water in hns

Ok, how do you count your water. I mixed up a concentrate with about twice the amount of water called for. When my consultant asked me how much water I was drinking I was recalling it all and I knew you didn't count the hns, but if you used extra water I figured you could count the extra. She said no. That sounds insane to me. I could open a concentrate and drink it from the pouch and then chanse it with 10 ounces of water and get to count all 10, but if I mix the concentrate in with the 10 ounces of water I don't count it. To bad, I am counting it until she explains it in a way that it makes sense to me.:dizzy:

So I went to WI today, and I'm down another 3.5 lbs! Thats 12.5 total in 18 days OP. I'm a little bit worried b/c I had to switch menus for a lil while b/c of some financial implications and I can't afford to buy the drinks for a couple of weeks, so I'm on the 1500 calorie diet which adds in some dairy and some more fruit servings...I just hope it doesn't slow me down. Good luck everyone! Have a great week on program!

carolinagirlnc 05-04-2010 04:25 PM

I have been on the plan since 2/14 and I have lost a total of 38.5 inches and 36.5 pounds. I am feeling great and very energized. Love to plan.:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

My energy level even went down. I'm a little depressed.......I'm praying I can get back on track and lose a couple lbs. this week. I've given up creamies and beef, added a fourth HNS for this week. I'll go WI either Wed. or Thurs. ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!Why did I eat all that junk? One thing just led to another.....I will not make this mistake again.

Oh I feel you on this - I just posted a few minutes ago about how hard getting back on track is after eating candy and bread, etc. I feel so sluggish and tired too - it is amazing how the good food and bad food make your body feel different. Today is my day to get back!

Hi everyone! I posted this on another thread, but want to add it here, too with a little different emphasis. i've been pretty unmotivated since the first part of april. frankly i am just burnt out with weight loss. i know i'm going to start losing ground with the attitude i have now. my contract with them is up on may 22 and i've been dreading what would happen because i know i'm not going to reach that weight by then. i went into the center today with the proposal that i start stabilization even though i'm not at my goal weight. at first they had pretty big reservations about it. they said they wouldn't be doing me any service by letting me start before i was at a "healthy weight / bmi". i pointed out that they wouldn't be doing me any service by letting me walk away feeling like a failure when i've, really, been very successful. so they agreed to let me start stabilization at the end of the month. i feel like a weight has been lifted (pun intended) ;).

the different emphasis i want to add here is that the counselor was awesome and really listened to me for which i am truly grateful. sometimes i project my own self-criticism onto them and they don’t really deserve that. i want to say to everyone that if you need support, make sure you’re talking to the people at your center. they really are there to help.

*sigh* Back on the roller-coaster. Had a weird week with health issues and other life stresses and gained a pound and a half. I'm not frustrated by it really, just kinda upset at myself for climbing back on the gain/loss rollercoaster again. I hate it. SO...back to buisness for me. My health will only improve by more weight loss, so thats no excuse for me. Anyway, felt like I should post that for accountability reasons...I feel better now :)

Becky - Here is what I understand about how we count our water... When we add something to the water (HNS, Crystal Light, tea, coffee, etc) we are changing the chemical make up of the water. The mix-ins above really only settle in as a solution rather than actually changing into something else, but when we drink them, our body would have to separate them if we want to get the nutritional value out of the plain water. The HNS are good for us because it adds the protein from the drink...which is why we are encouraged to max out on those, but our body pulls the protein out of it, but probably won't get around to using the water as water (think I love lucy with her conveyor belt...you only have so much time to pull things from the water before it sails down the line further) The other mix-ins don't add any nutritional value, so it's actually a waste of water intake for us to drink them this way...same goes for soda, whether diet or not. We need the ammount of plain water to flush out the waste from our cells that we're burning off with the plan. If our body is treating the water as a protein source or has to filter some other mix-in out, it won't use it in the same flushing way. You'll lose more/quicker if you drink more water...it won't hurt you unless you're drinking over 150oz without exercising. Exercise of course, increases your water demand in your body...but without, drinking too much can cause you to retain water. I'm not a chemist or a doctor, but this is how i understand it. I hope that helps you out a little bit.

I did not know this! That makes alot of sense because I am drinking alot of water but not exercising as much and I feel bloated..so maybe this could be some of the cause.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie here! I started MRC on 4/29. Lost 7 lbs during preconditioning, and have lost another 4.5 since then. I'm highly motivated right now, so I am hoping to carry this through to the end! My husband has been overseas for 15 months and is coming back next month. I have NOT told him I'm doing this, so I hope to surprise him when he sees me with at least a 30 lb loss by then, if not more. Looking forward to getting to know you guys and reading about all your ideas, support, etc!

la62882 05-06-2010 12:46 PM

Glad that this is a great way of sharing information....I had no idea on the water. I've never been much of a water drinker therefore I was mixing crystal light with almost every bottle....I guess I will stop that and drink plain water.

I started on the program on 4/21 by going on the preconditioning menu until I started the HCG on 4/29, which had a totally different menu. I was at 207lbs on my very first visit to MRC. I was at 200.5 this morning, so I guess it's true that you can lose 3/4 to 1lb a day.

It hasn't been easy for me, since I was a bread and potato lover. I can't wait to have some carbs, but I know it won't be for awhile.

I'm getting very sick of chicken already and salads!!!

anotherchick 05-06-2010 02:10 PM

I browned some ground turkey with onions and garlic last night. It was the most WONDERFUL thing I have had since 4/23/10 the day I started MRC. I forgot how much I like ground turkey. I will have to buy more of this. Delish!

melNco 05-06-2010 02:45 PM

Random Vent: Can I just say " I HATE the tomato creamy supplement"! It just has the worse taste to me :( I made lunch with it today and brought it to work and when I heated up my lunch I almost got sick.. I just couldn't eat it. I ate my fuit and veggies but when I got back to my desk I ate a Protein Bar.

I only use that supp in the recipes. I make the turkey lasagna and crock pot chili with it. I also mix it with a bunch of spices, ground turkey and jalapenos for taco meat. I can't have it alone but it can help with flavor in the recipes.

So I actually managed to make it thru yesterday....I was just having one of those days that I could just about eat anything that I shouldn't and I didn't which I was very proud of myself. I did reach for 1 piece of melba toast....hope that doesn't affect me as I only had half of the chocolate pudding for the day so that it wouldn't put me over the 500 calories per day.

Does anyone know what is on the maintenance menu after you finish the HCG? I know that I need to stick to the same menu i'm on now for the 3 days following the last injection.

any help???

Yeah:carrot: Sorry, I don't know anything about the HCG? Do they put you on a different menu if you are using that?

la62882 05-07-2010 11:49 AM

Deleted Was Not Aware I Couldn't Post, Figured Since It Was A Program Ran By Mrc That It Would Be Ok....sorry To Everyone!!!

GoalAug2010 05-07-2010 12:23 PM

Is HCG the injections we've all heard a little bit about?

Hvnlymzic 05-07-2010 12:45 PM

That sure is the HCG injections...I assume we'll hear from a site moderator soon.

LA - 3FC doesn't allow discussion of any hcg plans on their website. We have to respect that.

If this thread gets shut down, we'll have to start a new one...

MEEZOOGIRL 05-07-2010 01:43 PM

Back on my roller coaster of WI. Was off plan last week, but thought I did pretty good this week until the last few days. Went to WI today and up 1/2lb. I know it's mostly water weight, but... Just feel like I have a good week then a bad week. It's never good week after good week..

Since I ate way to many carbs last week, this whole week all I've been craving are carbs/sweets.. I'm having such a hard time. Normally I can have my pudding/bar and I'm fine. Not so much this week.. Ok enough whining.. Tomorrow's another day right?? I'll be back on Program.

Have a great weekend all!!!

anotherchick 05-07-2010 01:59 PM

Had WI today. Went in feeling good. My scales said I was down 1, not what I wanted, but 1. Their scales said I was up 1. Trying to keep my optimism. I can't see how eating 800 - 1300 calories per day you can gain a pound.
BTW - I just found out ground turkey not the best choice. More calories - go figure. I thought I was doing something good. I put my last 2 days in sp to see what the calorie count was like. I forgot about using sp until now. I have used it in the past.

So, for the first week of program after preconditioning, I lost 1 pound. Not encouraging.

Could LA EDIT her post? :)

la62882 05-07-2010 02:35 PM

done did not know....figured since this was a mrc forum that we could, guess i will delete myself entirely

Hvnlymzic 05-07-2010 02:42 PM

Yeah...sorry la62882. We can help you once you go on the maintenance plan, but 3fc has a policy agains the hcg diets because of their unsafe calorie intake level. You could keep posting...we can help a little with tips and things, but you won't be able to mention the hcg thing or they'll lock the thread.

Well, I can agree with that. Nothing I'd want to get into myself.

Seems odd that I'd see ads here all the time for hcg injections though? There's a link on my screen just to the right now--free hcg oral drops trial, how I lost 22 lbs. in 3 weeks - limited time! WITH a link.

Seems they wouldn't accept ads if they don't want it talked about.

Ok, hope my comment won't get this shut down. Just saying.......

Hvnlymzic 05-07-2010 03:52 PM

They've commented about those ads before...its a random generator and as soon as they see those, they block them, but sometimes they get through for a while...

All I can say is I don't think they try too hard. I see three or four of those every time I come on here. One no when I logged on. Maybe if we keep mentioning them, it will get taken care of faster?

joanie830 05-07-2010 09:01 PM

I just weighed in after a week of pre-conditioning and I've lost 4 pounds!! AND even better, I'm past my first 48 hours with no caffeine. Hopefully I've weathered the worst of that!

SalaamDementia 05-08-2010 11:43 AM

I return! Uhg, I spent all of last weekend moving, I hate moving...

Ate some generally horrible foods during the process. No one wanted to cook, we didn't really have any food and kitchen implements were packed. So yeah, general yuck as far as staying OP.

Getting back into the swing is proving hard, but I'm doing it. I need to find the other MRC that is in my new town though. I keep putting it off because I don't want to see the damage done. But, I shall tough it up and go on Monday.

jenkatt 05-08-2010 12:59 PM

Lost 2.5 so far on preconditioning. I was suppose to start the Meta-Slim today (Yellow menu) but I'm going out of town for a business meeting/ conference on Monday and there is no possible way for me to stay on plan. So I will start it next Thursday. I did cave in and get the MRC-6 and all day weight loss. I want to give myself a little push to start. I don't intend on taking them the entire time. I feel sorry for anyone who either doesn't have medical knowledge or hasn't been researching MRC when they go in for their food class. Wow. It wasn't a hard sell at all, BUT there was a lot of pseudoscience and fluff talk. Being told no caffeine because it's not natural but that the caffeine in All Day Weight Loss is ok, because it is natural. I had to try not to laugh.
I absolutely loved being told not to use anything but regular white toothpaste, and not a gel toothpaste. And no mouthwash. Sorry my dentist would KILL me.

melNco 05-08-2010 03:41 PM

Got to weigh in today after being away for a couple of weeks. Finally got my 30 pound rock and was told I was close enough to goal to start stabilization in a couple of weeks. Wow! I hope I lose some more before I start, I don't want to stabilize five pounds away from my goal. It seems like it's been a long jouney but really it went pretty quick.

dmscrap 05-09-2010 01:35 PM

Weighed on Friday, lost 3.5 after pre-conditioning. I'm struggling to stay OP! How do you do it? I am sooo not good at sticking to anything :(
Oh well, its a new day!
