In response to the water question, you really do start to almost crave water.. At least this was the case for me.. I was never a water drinker, in fact I hated it. Now as soon as I get to work I fill up a huge drinking bottle and keep it with me all night and continue to refill it as many times as I can in 8 hours.. Eventually you do stop making all those annoying bathroom trips:).. hang in there it does get better!

Cheers!

Ronnie

I agree Ronnie, I feel it when I don't drink enough water. However, I have to have lemon in it. Our water here in Tampa is so heavy it's bitter.

Ang2877 05-15-2010 01:06 AM

I agree with Ronnie! I am to the point now.. 60 days in that I crave water, and know when I haven't had enough. I even was snoring one night and in my dream I was asking a stranger for a drink of water. I woke up and went right to the kitchen and got water. Its so weird to have gone so many years drinking soda to be able to switch overnight! I am soda free since March 8th!!! I love how the bathroom breaks have died down too! I never thought it would!

Hi Jenkatt, you might want to try a brita filter. I keep the pitcher in my fridge and it's the only water I like to drink. Straight from the tap is rough here too.

jenkatt 05-15-2010 01:46 PM

I have a brita filter at home and it does make the water nice at home. At work, I'm stuck. Even with the water being "filtered" it's harsh, so I add True Lemon or lemon slices. But I drink so much of the water with lemon at work that anywhere else I want it the same.
Pretty much however I can get it, I'll take it, but I definitely prefer it with lemon!

It's great to read in here to see the accomplishments that we all have, and the not-so-good weeks that we have too. Makes me feel like I am not alone in this! After my good loss earlier in the week, i stayed the same on Friday. Hoping for something good on Monday.

AngelaB 05-16-2010 01:27 AM

How do you get those cute weight loss tickers on the bottom of peoples posts?

I've had a frustrating few days trying to stay OP. One of my friends gradated from law school and we had a party for her where they served cheesecake and everyone in the room had a piece so I indulged. Then tonight was my mom's birthday -- Cake. How do you all handle these situations in a way that doesn't make you stand out like a sore thumb and also doesn't hurt the feelings of the honoree???

I'm still pretty new to plan (just finished 1 month), so I'm still in honeymoon stage (LOL), but if someone asks, I'm just honest and say I'm on a restrictive diet for health reasons. These days, everyone seems to have some sort of dietary restriction and people don't think twice about it. Usually, people don't even notice when I'm not eating something b/c they're more concerned about what they're doing and eating. We just assume our eating is the center of everyone's thoughts because it's the center of OUR thoughts. So, just say no thanks! There will always be cheesecake in the world that I can say "yes" to if it's in my plan or in my budget. Saying "no" today doesn't mean I will never have it; I just didn't get pressured into making an impulse decision (which got me overweight in the first place).

Hope this helps!

P.S. The fact that you're THERE and celebrating with them honors them, not whether or not you had the cheesecake they were serving!

I re-enrolled on 4/19 then took a month off, because I was getting burned out.
I lost my 70 pounds in 24 weeks but I re-enrolled because I want to get down to 150lbs. That's my personal goal not MRC's.
I went to the center this morning and lost 3 1/2 lbs. And now I am back on track and in the right mindframe. I WILL get to my goal of 150lbs and I WILL get to Onderland by the end of this month.

GoalAug2010 05-17-2010 11:57 AM

Welcome back Kathyb, that's a really impressive accomplishment! 70 lbs in 24 weeks is amazing!

You're way over halfway to your 150 lb goal!

Man I hate Portland water.. They claim it is the best water but I think not.. I buy water or filter it.. Our resevoirs are out in the open and I don't wanna know what might be finding it's way in there.. eeek!

Cheers! ( to bottled and filtered water) ;)

Day 2 of the yellow menu. Having a hard time eating as much as I am suppose to at meals, but I don't I'm hungry in between. it's too much to eat in one sitting, it makes me nauseous!
Going to weigh in today. At home I'm down 4 pounds.. let's see what it is there!

carolinagirlnc 05-18-2010 08:49 AM

I lost my grandmother this past Thursday and I still continue to loss 3 lbs over the course of the weekend and all the (bad)food that was at the house and church. I will take those 3 lbs and add to it this week.

Sorry to hear about your loss of your grandmother.. Try not to eat emotionally. There will always be things in our lives that are going to try and get in our way but we have to remember we are stronger than the food we want to eat.. Get through this tough time and then get back on plan as soon as you can so you don't lose too much ground. Remember to take care of you first!

Ronnie

AngelaB 05-18-2010 10:44 PM

So sorry about the loss of your grandmother, and ditto what Ronnie said about emotional eating- don't let that get the best of you. Stay strong!!

My local paper ran a full page-both sides ad insert this morning touting all of the new MRC programs (they are now going to be experts in everything -- lol)There's Body in Balance, Meta-HCG, Meta Kidz, Menu's Made Easy and many more programs -- find the perfect one for you. One half of one whole page is dedicated to testimonies for the Meta-HCG. I'm not going to judge, but I do wonder how consultants (who already struggle giving the same information on one plan) are going to handle this, or if they will have consultants who specialize in each plan.

Hvnlymzic 05-20-2010 09:37 AM

Yes, I'm still a huge skeptic Deb...I'll have to be specific about which plan i'm recommending when i suggest MRC in the future.

I lost a half pound this week and a few last week, so I've got just 7lbs left to my first mini-goal...well...8 more really and thats to be under 300lbs. Ugh. I am so tired of that big fat 3 sitting in front of my weight. I wanted it gone by the end of May, but I'll take it gone before the middle of June. Thats a HUGE goal for me and I'll hit my 60lbs mark along the way. I'm inspired to get back to it. I'm trying something new this week. Added in some decaf coffee with some sugar-free/fat-free creamer...hopefully this little "planned" cheat will eliminate my desire for the unplanned ones. It's an expiriment. :) If it doesn't work, I'll cut it and look for something else.

Congrats on the big losses and stabilizations I've seen around here. Keep up the good work! It feels good.

melNco 05-20-2010 09:43 AM

I'm OUT!!! of the house at least hehehe...I am off for vacation for 3 weeks. I leave the house in about an hour. My daughter is graduating high school and then we have family vacation...wish me luck :) On my way out of town I am stopping by MRC and picking up some HNS and weighing in.

Sam ... I've used that sugar free creamer always -- both times on program. Worked for me and didn't seem to effect anything.

And I will add my big congrats to everyone!!

Hvnlymzic 05-20-2010 11:32 PM

yeah...i'm gonna watch this week and see how I do with it Deb...I have to come up with something that I can allow at least for a while. I intend to cut it out eventually, but for now, i need something "legal" so i stay away from the "illegal". I used to do sugar free candy, but I'm not feeling that right now...the coffee sounds good because it's been so rainy. As soon as the weather warms up I won't want it anymore. We'll see.

nabeelmalik 05-21-2010 11:48 AM

so secretly this week (today) i am hoping to get the 60lbs rock. I know i've had a 5 lbs lost maybe more. The MRC scale is really unforgiving :)

happy friday all

GoalAug2010 05-21-2010 12:41 PM

Today i saw 189.2 on the scale! it's almost as exciting getting down to the 180's as it was to go below 200!

I hope this proves to the mrc scale the 3 week wretched plateau is over.

jenkatt 05-21-2010 02:59 PM

Weighed in today and down another 2 pounds for a total for 4 this week and 6.5 overall. I'm stoked!

nabeelmalik 05-21-2010 06:58 PM

weighed in, lost 4 lbs! still 3 more to go for the 60lbs board. Guess i am back in business :D

leigh34 05-21-2010 10:36 PM

Awesome for you!!! I missed the 40 lb board by one pound this wednesday, but I didnt stay on plan the entire week! Hopefully I can celebrate with you next week! I still have a lot more to loose as well. But I started on March 8th, so I am satisfied with the amount I have lost so far. I think if I lost it too fast I might not learn everything I need too to keep it off for a lifetime.

Best wishes once again for your weightloss! You should be very proud of yourself! It takes a true commitment and hard work to achieve that amount!! :carrot: :carrot:

Some how I just realized that was the week prior.
I read the wrong page, but then I saw you have lost your grandmother and I am so sorry for your loss! I still feel the pain from my grandmothers passing more than 10 years ago. I wish you comfort and peace at this time. I am sorry!
