Bunny.. our doesn't have many classes either. I'm always looking for ways to learn or deal with my "baggage". You would think the scale would motivate us more.. Maybe it's tasting the forbidden fruit. Once you have that bite, lick or taste of something, It makes you want to eat other things off program. Good Luck.. Hope your WI went good..

Thanks Joy... I know I can always count on you girls to understand what I'm going through.. My darn skinny friends just don't get it..

Here's to a great rest of April.. We can do it... Ready to recommit... Hopeing I can actually hit the 50lb'd mark..

.5 isnt bad at all!! Heck i can gain or lose .5 in a hour..so who knows..maybe your not up at all!!

That's so great to have a cook part time.. Oh I don't know if I could resist the potato rolls.. I'm a breadaholic..

I actually did do a little dance. I haven't seen that number in FOREVER.. My daughter actually came running in... She's 2 1/2 and started to dance with me. I'm quiet at the center too.. Although if I hit 50lbs next week, I might just do a little dance then..

I just noticed you are in jacksonville.. I'm in Savannah..

It was hard to resist the rolls..he warmed them too..ughh I love bread..but amazingly I’ve done well to resist while on the diet..but carbs are my thing..mm bread, potatoes, pasta..but hopefully being able to fit in any rollercoaster seat will be my thing instead :P

That sooo amazing..50lbs lost! Your SO SO close..Ekk..Im giddy for you haha

Ive been to Savannah a lot..well mostly the hospitals there..When my brother was little (like 18 years ago lo) he used to see specialists there because our small town in GA (Reidsville) didn’t have any.. Then last year I went to Savannah almost every week to take my dad for radiation and chemo..he passed away in January though. Ugh not all is bad with my experiences with Savannah though. I got to go to a few blues type bars down town..omg I LOVE LOVE LOVED it!! I want to go back soo bad..see some old houses.. I love historic areas!! It was a lot of fun b/c we stayed with a friend who lived within walking distance to the bars..it was a blast. Now I sound like a lush haha oh well.. The music was awesome too.

Sorry you had to visit our little city under such circumstances. I know Savannah does have some great specialists though. Sorry about your dad..

You don't sound like a lush.. LOL. I love that about downtown. I would like to live down there.. If I had a ton of money and could afford one of the old houses. We try and do the Home tour every year. It's great people let you just walk through their homes downtown.

We go to Jacksonville quite a bit. Love your zoo and shopping.. We don't really have that here..

I'm with you on the pasta/bread/potato's.. This diet works well for me because I don't get to eat that. I don't have the switch to turn my brain off at a serving. So not having it is easy for me.. Now if I could just get rid of this sweet tooth... HHHMMM... How to do that??

April has been a good month for me - not so much in weight lost, because I really haven't lost much so far this month, but from a total health perspective. I had to go in to have my thyroid checked cuz in January my numbers were too high. I'd lost almost all my weight between the time I had it checked in Jan. and the re-check appt. My doc was really excited for me which was fun. So, the results came back and my thyroid numbers are spot on! Then I had my yearly gyn physical yesterday and got the same reaction. My doc was really excited about my weight loss. My lab results there were good too - cholesterol - 160; hemaglobin 14.5; Blood Pressure 110/64; blood sugar 84 - 2 hours after eating lunch. So, I feel like I'm really healthy and that's exciting. I've still got a ways to go with the whole weight loss journey, but I'm doing it in a healthy way and that is one of my goals. I upped my exercize this week and know that, all things considered, I'm in a much better place than I was when I signed up for MRC on Jan. 15. :hat:

SalaamDementia 04-16-2010 12:40 PM

Weighed in last night and was UP .5 lb. *grumble* I will sign that 45 lb board next week!

I can't get too down, I know .5 isn't much, but its still a gain.

DDDrury 04-16-2010 02:07 PM

Lola Jean that is what is all about. Great health, Congratulations!!!!

OG Thank you. I'm hoping that's the case.

I understand your frustration. I just had my menu tweaked a bit this week b/c my scale didn't budge at my last weigh in. I would take a look at your food diary and see if you could change anything. I don't know what menu you are on, but I am on metabalance & was told a few things to help with a plateau: max out clear HNS, limit creamies to 3 a week (vanilla wafers were my vice), limit exercise to no more than 4hrs a week, limit water to 96oz a day. Of course, this was what was advised to me, but I hope that it helps you out a bit. I would speak to someone at MRC if it last longer than a week. Sometimes this also happens if you have a big loss the week before. :goodluck:

Limit exercise huh, maybe that's it. In my effort to get in shape and get my arms sexy I think I might have been overdoing it. And maybe the water too, I was doing about 12-14 glasses a day, because of the workouts.
I'm going to try that stuff. I went in a big slump so I've got some work to do to recover. Hopefully this helps.
What about the fibers?

brittleleaf 04-17-2010 09:00 PM

had a discouraging first week on plan and lost only 3 pounds. I did all kinds of yardwork and ate on plan. During preconditioning, I lost 6.5, so my 3 this week was a downer. I'm not giving up though. This is the most dedicated I've ever been. I am PLANNING to eat off plan on Monday night when my bible study goes out and also on Mother's Day when I take my mom out. Does anyone else give themselves rewards like that to look forward to? I know those are the wrong kind of rewards. I work one overnight a week and does anyone have any suggestions how I follow the plan with that? The guy at my mrc told me to eat three times one day and wait the five hours and start another day then....that seams like i'm eating a lot in a 24 hour period.

brittleleaf 04-17-2010 09:19 PM

Hey my chicken is good if I cook it in a skillet with canola oil, but then I cut it up to use for salad later and it's just dry. How do you all eat your chicken?
