Thanks ladies :) i saw 280.8 on my home scale this morning, so means my body is dissolving the fat again :D. Hope to see it for real by next Saturday.

dkmd27 02-20-2010 06:40 PM

WOO HOO Nabeel!

lindscounty 02-20-2010 08:52 PM

Went in for my class yesterday and was down 6.5 lbs!!! That was exciting. I am on the meta-slim plus level 2 menu - so far so good today. I found a lot of the recipes from the cookbook looked pretty good. I am still struggling with getting all the water in so thats the thing I need to work on the most. Today was the first day I had the HNS and they were actually pretty good - the only thing that kept me going besides bland waterr! I also found some garlic and herb la tortilla factory tortillas and they are the same as the regular ones so I can't wait to have those!

6.5 lbs, thats A W E S O M E!, congrats.!!!

A tip on water: just try to get 90% of your daily intake in before your afternoon snack ( even before lunch if you can), this way you will feel much fuller through out the day and be done with your water almost :)

karla 02-21-2010 01:37 PM

@linds 6.5 libs!!!!! That is awesome! :carrot::cb:

@nabeel Thank you for the tip on the water. So try to drink most of your water before the afternoon snack...that is a good tip. I just have to try my hardest to incorporate it. :high:

Hvnlymzic 02-21-2010 05:38 PM

I definitely don't get in 90% before afternoon snack, but I do set benchmarks that ensure that I get in what i want to through the day. I have a 25oz water bottle that I carry around everywhere with me.
Drink 1 bottle with breakfast.
1 bottle between breakfast and lunch.
1 bottle with lunch
1 bottle between lunch and dinner.
1 bottle with dinner.
1 bottle after dinner, before bed.

I set that as my goal (150oz a day) and I usually get real close (at least 100oz+). I notice when I don't and I don't feel as good. Once my body gets used to that much water, when I don't get it, my body rebels.

use of lunch meats -- YES! BOAR'S HEAD

I would really like to use the premade turkey sausage links and lunch meat. Does anyone else do this? Results?

The soft cheese thing... First time around I simply used cheese and most of it soft if I remember. Does this affect anyone's results?

Yes, I have used lunch meats. I was told that one of the only acceptable brands allowed on MRC is the low sodium meats by BOAR'S HEAD. They are incredibly good. But my understanding is that you shouln't use them more than a couple of times per week. There is the low sodium chicken (Golden Classic) and the low sodium turkey, and low sodium cheeses too -- the lacey swiss is really low and the meunster is low. Got me hungry now, gotta go buy some.

skinnyby25 02-22-2010 11:31 AM

so saturday morning on my home scale i was at 171.5. i worked out 40min on sat and sun, but instead of doing the cardio did fat burn mode on the elliptical, my heart rate only topped at 130 the whole time. this is what mrc suggested on friday. i haven't been religious to the plan, even ate pizza on saturday night. i did cut out my starches and ate a little more protein. so, this morning i weighed 168 on my home scale. very happy and surprised. whats up with this? i wonder if its the no carbs or the exercise. i'm going to try to cut out the starches this week, except maybe use black beans, and keep on working out this way and see how it goes.

Tomorrow is my last WI before surgery. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I think with all of the stress it would be great news to have a loss & have crushed this plateau. I probably won't be back on the forum until Thursday b/c the surgery is Wednesday & i'll be out of it i'm sure (like I usually am post-op). GOAL OF THE WEEK: crush the plateau & crush cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!:crossed:

GoalAug2010 02-23-2010 12:18 AM

Good luck Karla! You're an inspiration!

Karla - Praying for you. I LOVE your positive attitude through all of this. Hang in there :)

nabeelmalik 02-23-2010 03:24 PM

Congrats to all the board signers, must be awesome :)

@Karla: Goodluck i will pray for you.

on a personal note: I saw 279.1 on my home scale this morning, but this was after night of ehum no sleep. so dunno if that counts :D, but i guess i am getting close to the 50 :)

karla 02-23-2010 10:22 PM

Thank everyone for all of the well wishes & prayers! I went to WI. I was only down a pound....I really want to get out of the 190's. My mini-goal is to be at 185 by the end of the month, but that is right around the corner. We shall see. I haven't been 185 since I did WW many moons ago. Anyways, I know i'm guaranteed to lose some sort of ounces/lbs. from the surgery tomorrow hahaha plus the no eating...but I did remind my bf & family that even if I beg & cry for a slurpee to "make me feel better" nobody better comply with the begging lol! I told my bf please shut me up poke me in the eye whatever you have to do, but don't let my mother buy me a slurpee or fast food to make me "feel better". I'll keep y'all posted on the outcome of the day. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow & lets end February on a good note!!!!!

karla 02-23-2010 10:23 PM

btw nabeel good job!

this made me giggle. hubba hubba! :P

MGunz 02-24-2010 10:12 AM

I am from Omaha also. What is the rock? I just want to make sure i get any thing that can help me?

Hvnlymzic 02-24-2010 10:14 AM

Karla, if you wake up craving a slurpee, blend an HNS with crushed ice or make an HNS snow cone :) Not quite the same, but close, right?? And don't be surprised if you come out of surgery heavier because of the fluids, but you're right...after that, you'll drop some weight :) Not the best way to do it I suppose, but hey...it's a plus side of the surgery huh?

From what I understand some centers give out rocks at like 10lbs, maybe 20 lbs, 40lbs..something like that.. My center I guess doesn’t :( I also heard about ribbon for inches lost..but I dunno if that something people are doing themselves or if the center is giving out strips of ribbon for your inches.. Im thinking of doing that myself..i was down 17.5 inches in two weeks..i think it would be a good visual.

SalaamDementia 02-24-2010 12:49 PM

Every time they measure me at my center they give me a ribbon the length of the total inches lost. I keep my stuck on my fridge as a reminder to myself. We don't get rocks though, they've got bags full of sand for different weights they give you to carry around the center - which is amazing to carry around even the 10 or 15 lbs for a bit, thinking you've lost that much.

kimmermarie19 02-24-2010 01:58 PM

Prayers Karla!! Keep us updated...let us know how you do :)

Congrats to all on their WIs this week!! Yea!

karla 02-24-2010 11:32 PM

I survived! I am home & resting in bed. For the first time ever I am nauseous after a surgery. I think it may be a combination of a different anethesia b/c of my seizures & also all of the morphine. The doctor said that he removed the affected areas & we may have more surgeries/chemo but I have to wait until my 2wk. follow-up appt. for the results from the pathology report. Needless to say it will be a long 2 weeks. I am trying to stay positive & think that this surgery took care of "it". I am in a lot of pain & have been taking percocet since I got home from the hospital. I don't know how this will affect my next WI...but quite frankly the pain is immense so regardless I will keep taking the pain meds. I didn't stay OP today. I ate 1 100 calorie english muffin & an HNS. I can't keep anything down b/c I keep vomiting. My bf, family, & friends have been awesome & were there when I woke up. I had a full house this evening which was really encouraging to know that I am not alone in this journey. Thanks to all of you also. You don't even know me, but have provided such encouraging & kind words. Thank you for letting me vent on the forum too. I heart you for that!!! Have a good night everyone & happy WI's :)

kimmermarie19 02-25-2010 09:52 AM

Going on 2 weeks officially OP...and feeling great!!:carrot:
