I know I'm new here and everyone has different tastes..but I feel like I should have been warned on how bad the chicken bouillon tastes :( LOL I dont want to pour it out but i cant seem to make myself drink it. I hate wasting stuff.

I only use it in recipes... it helps give some flavor but I agree it aweful by itself!!!

Yes, I like this diet. To be honest, I was really bummed to find out that I was going to be on a "special" diet when I first started. But then, I started losing weight just as fast as everyone else and realized that this is what MY body needed.

How were the meatballs. I love turkey, I might have to try them out too. :)

The meatballs were good. I tried to make something that was "super bowl" like food. lol!

I'm planning on making the cheesecake for my breakfast and super interested to see how that will turn out. :)

Filling:
2 cups low-fat cottage cheese (1% milk fat)
1 pkg. vanilla shake supplement
1 pkg lemon supplement
2 pkgs Splenda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
1 pkg. Knox unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup hot water
2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Crust:
1 cup melba toast
2 tsp. oil
2 pkgs. Splenda

Mix crust ingredients in blender and press in pie pan. Chill while mixing the filling. Mix gelatin with hot water in blender on high. Add remaining ingredients and pour in crust. Chill before serving

Servings: 4
Beginning: Meta Slim Day 11, Meal - Breakfast
Meta Slim Plus Day 5, Meal - Breakfast
Two Meal Plan, Meal - Breakfast

Replaces 4 oz. protein, 1 bread, 1/2 supplement

I was wondering if the cheesecake tasted good. I'm glad to hear that y'all like it. I will definitely have to try it! :)

I don't know why this recipe calls for a cup of melba toast because that is entirely too much. I use the plain wheat rectangles and it's 60 calories for three, so I calculate two would be 50 calories so for the whole recipe I blend 8 rectangles because the recipe makes four slices. Which is a little over a 1/4 cup of melba toast..:dizzy: Did I confuse you all..lol. Hope this helps.

Oh my gosh, I'm with you. I only use the suppliments like that for cooking anymore. I thought I'd be clever and make soups and stuff - bleh, it wasn't great at all.

I don't know if your center does this, you could ask - but at mine, if you get any kind of HNS that you hate, just cannot stomach, there is a big basket that you can drop it into and swap it out with something someone else didn't like. I've gotten rid of some particulary gross HNS that I couldn't find a use for.

So, I am in pre-condtioning week. I started last Friday, and I am supposed to go in tomorrow to do a quick weigh in. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I feel great, so much better since I have started eating better! It might be wishful thinking, but I actually feel a little bit lighter :) Maybe it's just because I don't feel so bloated all the time.

I have a question though....will they just weigh me tomorrow and thats it? I am just wondering how long it will take. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

They usually check your blood pressure, look over your food log and then weigh you in. After 2 weeks of being OP they usually do your measurements and then every month from then on. Those appts usually take a few extra minutes. You'll do great!

SalaamDementia 02-09-2010 11:25 AM

Usually you have a consult with a counselor at your center, talk about how you're doing, take your blood pressure, go over your food diary and so on - then weigh in. Usually the whole process takes 15-30 minutes, kind of depending on if you've got questions or other things to talk about.

Totally take advantage of the time when you sit with someone though, I've gotten lots of help from asking simple questions. There are a few ladies who I've dubbed my personal cheerleaders/therapists - if I'm having a bad day, week, whatever - they let me vent and will chit chat with me for as long as I need it. I've spent more than an hour at just one weight in and shed some tears a few times, only to get hugs and love from complete strangers when I need it the most. :)

Anyway, good luck to you!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I hope you're infinitely proud of yourself no matter how your center handled it! You're truly an inspiration to so many others, and I wish you the best as you finish stabilization and maintenance. Doing a happy dance for you!!

Congrats, i'd love to see your before/after picture.

Isnt it funny, we work hard to get where we think we want to be, we reach it and expect explosions of firework, people laying out the red carpet for us etc,, and it ends up being the most normal thing in the world, i guess thats just how 'cruel' the world is, because 'normal' is the norm, but define 'normal'. :)

Really C O N G R A T S again, it must be an awesome feeling for you :):carrot::carrot::carrot:

I went to my 2-week WI & I honestly was a bit scared b/c it is that T.O.M. & I didn't know what was going to be happening with the scale. It was down 1lb. Yay! Better than the other direction I suppose. I was more excited though for measurements. I lost 10 inches in 2 weeks!!!!! I told my counselor "Shut Up!" (in a good way) b/c I was very excited. Only good things to come from here. I hope everyone is having a good week :)

I'm glad to see that someone else has done that too. When one of the counselors told me I would be wearing an 8 by the time I hit goal I asked her what she had been drinking. We actually made a bet and looks like she is going to win. I bought some jeans in December and they were 10's. It's fun when we have counselors that we can have fun with. Congrats!

Do you go to the center in Orange Park? My aunt used to go to that center & lost 100 pds 6yrs. ago & has kept it off. She has been my motivation & also probably one of my best cheerleaders. She has a lot of good tips. Anything she tells me I try to post on the forum.

I know! I lucked out as did you. I was worried about how the counselor "relationship" would be. But, everyone at the center is VERY helpful. I even told her yesterday when she told me I didn't loss any inches on my bum "Yeah I have a wide but flat a**".....she replied with "yeah you do" and then the laughing began. It is weird that with some of my closest friends I can't talk about my weight issues but I feel like I can divulge anything to the counselors at the center. As far as the pants are concerned. I will be so happy to stop shopping in the plus size section. I want to wear cute clothes that I love...not just something that looks 'ok'. I'm sure a lot of people can identify with that. Congratulations on the size 10's. You will be in the single digits in no time! :D

Karla, I actually got to a center in the Ortega part of Jacksonville. I do my best to stay away from OP LOL...Thats amazing about your Aunt..I cant imagine what it will be like to be 100lbs lighter!! I sure hope I get to find out and then keep it off! I do wish I had some friends around town doing the smae thing lol.

AND OMG...to NOT shop in the plus size section..OMG LOL a dream come true..to just shop in any store..sounds amazing. I still findd clothes I love now, but i swear bigger clothes are so much more expensive!

I'm so excited to focus on the cute clothes part. Not having to accessorize a blah outfit. In my town all of the plus size sections focus for the more mature woman. Which is ok when I am looking for work clothes, but not so much when I am looking for jeans. I was telling my boyfriend last night. "I can't weight to loss weight so that I have to buy all new clothes that I actually like" LOL! Ortega Park? I'm not familiar with that area...i'm always up there visiting her. Do you have a weight loss buddy? If not...it is ok b/c that is what we are here for in the forum.

I dont really have a "weight loss buddy" I do have another friend trying to lose weight but not on the MRC plan and I have a couple other bigger friends, and several who have been successful losing a lot of weight thru diet & exercise. So I have people who understand my problem but not going through this. I hope you understand what I meant lol. Ortega is sorta near Orange park..Like if you north down 17 from OP(near the navy base) and keep going a lil bit your in Ortega…

I used to have problems finding going out clothes..but I guess with Torrid and a few other stores its gotten better but OMG Torrid is way too expensive in my opinion. I did find some cute jeans at target a couple days ago. Target hardly had plus sizes lately and I have never seen jeans there that I liked..but I loved these..Im still excited LOL (still cost 30 bucks but better than like 50-90 at Torrid) I prefer Dots like 15-20 dollar jeans LOL

Had my WI today.. Down 3lbs.. YAY.. Finally got rid of some of my water weight from being sick. They measured me today.. 48.5 inches.. Really feeling positive about things this month. It was hard to get back on plan from the holidays for me. Now totally commited. I go see my friend in a few months, and am looking to be a whole new me by then..

Karla/Bunny.. I can so relate to what your saying.. I am a shopper, so I usually find pretty cute clothes in the plus size department, but just walking by the "regular" departments makes me drool. I'd love to be able to walk in any store and buy clothes.. I can just imagine.. Sigh... We will all be there soon..

The weird thing is that my feet are smaller. I had no idea you could lose weight in your feet. I'm down at least a 1/2 a shoe size. I had to go out and buy some new shoes for work.. I kept walking out of them.. :-)

Here's to a new week... Hope it's a great one..

Oh a note my counselor told me today.. If you have trouble getting all your HNS in, she said you could double up a couple a day. That way you make sure to get them all in.. I'm going to try that this week...

I cant wait to HAVE to buy new clothes and shoes hehe.. Even if its still plus size even if its smaller I will be happy!!

i hate to be so negative, but i'm getting super tired of being on a diet. i plan on going off plan this weekend for valentines day, so maybe its just my mindset. its been so cold this winter so maybe when it starts to warm up i'll be more motivated, all i want are warm comfort foods. has anyone ever tried cutting out the startches for a week, i'm wondering if that would speed things up and put me in a higher level of ketosis.

not going to give up 02-11-2010 08:28 AM

I quit eating the starches and it has sure helped me.

the thing that crossed my mind last night was that if we stopped eating the starches would we go into "starvation mode" since the calories are so limited anyways. do you eat extra of something. i would think extra protien would be better since the protien helps burn the fat. any thoughts?

39.5lbs!!! AHH! So close and so frustrating! :|

Next week...I'll get my 40lb rock, sign the board and get my new measurements. It'll be a fun week, but still...i'd have been ok getting the 40lbs this week and spreading the fun out a little more. I lost 2.5lbs this week and I'm just thinking over all the superbowl food i ate that I could have skipped just a little of to get that last half pound, but you know what...I'm proud of my 2.5lbs, I'll get the 40 next week and its hard to complain about that.

nabeelmalik 02-11-2010 11:59 AM

WI yesterday, only down 1 lbs. Might have to with the fact that i have started seeing someone and we are constantly eating out almost. I guess i need to control myself again. I feel a big drop coming though, hopefully it happens this Saturday, if not for sure next Wednesday. I've started this new work out routine, which is basically a body building routine. A co worker of mine lost his weight in an incredible fashion. He was 300+ lbs and he did this:

-6000 calorie diet(with only healthy stuff), with a very strict workout regiment and lots of protein shakes. Can you imagine having to eat 6000 calories of veggies, eggs etc for about 2 months?
- This way his body gained lot of lean muscle under his fat while he lost weight too slowly. Then all of a sudden he cut the calories down to 2500 a day, and WHAM he lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks and cut out about 5% body fat as well, he weighs around 240 now but he is BUFFED. Its just amazing to see that transformation.

I've taken his work out plan and have modified it a bit so it suits my own calorie intake of MRC with the MetaSlim. MRC asked me to do the Metabalance, but i am being stubborn, so lets see :) I guess his way of doing it was opposite to the MRC plan, where MRC plan tries to break down your body, he built his body up internally first and then shed the excessive pounds by tricking it into starvation. Its amazing all that our body can handle i swear.

Hvnlymzic 02-11-2010 02:00 PM

Nabeel - we eat out alot too...and its entirely possible to eat well while eating out...just not as fun as the bad stuff :) i know you know that, but don't feel like going out on dates means you can't stay on plan. :)

Why is it that all American holidays focus on food...even sweet little romantic valentine's day...we all give and get candy. A couple years ago when i was OP, Hubby bought me sugar-free chocolates for valentine's day. It was the sweetest thing. He's so supportive :) I'm inspired enough to do well this week, that I won't eat too far off plan over this little holiday. A nice meal out doesn't have to ruin everything i've worked for.

leigh34 02-11-2010 02:04 PM

WI today after 10 days away from center (out of town for work, weather and my son's surgery) and lost 3 lbs! Felt pretty good since I really was not expecting to lose more than 1 lb...my counselor was great, she could tell I was feeling a bit down, frustrated and blah - she noticed it was time for measurements and readings...not only did I lose 3 lbs, but 25.5 inches since my last measurement (which was back in December) for a total of 51 inches!! Wahoo - I really needed that!!!

You are so right that every holiday focuses on food. Why? You are really doing well, and you have a great outlook.

[quote=nabeelmalik;3147416]WI yesterday, only down 1 lbs.

So with the info about the other stuff from mrc you posted, I realized you mentioned seeing someone. It's always great to have someone in your life. Eating out just puts the control in others hands as to how much salt, oil and other things they add. I'm sure you will figure it all out, drink extra water any day you eat out. Have fun and enjoy life, but.......stay op. You are doing a great job.

Nabeel - I wasn't trying to point out excuses, but hey whatever keeps you on the wagon, huh? :) I love this group of people...so encouraging and challenging all at the same time. If you know where you're going and want to post the restraunt name there's a good chance that someone has been there and may have a suggestion of what to eat. We went to Olive Garden the other day (hubby's fav) and I remembered hearing that the apricot chicken (without the sauce) is a good option there, so I went knowing I had a plan of attack ahead and felt really good about eating there.
