Congrats! I agree, 5 is an awesome number! I saw in another post that you were going to be moving but didn't know where to. Moving can be fun and yet not. Hope your's will be a good one.

SalaamDementia 02-16-2010 02:35 PM

I'm moving to Loveland in May, which I'm a bit bummed about since I don't really want to change centers. But other than that it will be a good move.

And thanks for the congrats everyone! I was super shocked to see the -5 lbs, guess it was just a good week or something. :)

kimmermarie19 02-16-2010 02:52 PM

First official WI today...down 3 lbs! Yea! Total of 6.5 lbs since I started 2/6 :)

Hvnlymzic 02-16-2010 07:03 PM

Congrats to lots of people!!
*Bunny, congrats on the engagement! (wait until that shiny ring is too big, thats an awesome feeling...mine slides off alot now).
*Kimmer, Congrats on your first loss!! I remember that one. SO exciting :)
*Congrats to all the people stepping down in clothes sizes. :) I'm anxiously waiting. I've got clothes in 3 sizes smaller from my last MRC adventure and I just can't quite get into them. Proof that I gained this weight differently after having my son. Crazy.

My WI is tomorrow. All I'm hoping for is a half pound so I can get my 40lb rock. I'd love have more, but I haven't been very good OP this last week, so if I get the half pound, I'll be a happy girl. Measurements are tomorrow too. Big day.

sherriebaby2009 02-16-2010 10:14 PM

I'm not sure if my body is at a new/different level but I've been SOOO hungry these last two days!! I've increased my intake of water AND drank 2 HNS AND 2 Light 100 calorie Muscle Milks and still was hungry ... my tummy was growling almost all day!! Hope this phase doesn't last long, I had pineapple for lunch today instead of my normal apple; I wander if that has anything to do with it?

Still dealing with the sinus junk, but tonight starting to feel somewhat human; hoping I can get back to the gym A.S.A.P.

I've started taking magnesium since the last 3 days as well, but i am not letting go of my fiber either :) Am just looking for a good cleansing product that i can use for once to get rid of the nasty stuff that's built in for years so to speak, found one on the internet, will get it today and see if it helps me. Maybe it will even help me break my 'plateau', even though i am 100% op, i've gained 2 lbs since last week, might also have to do with my workout routine, so lets see what happens.

Life is good. Wishing you all the best as you gear up for a happily ever after! CONGRATS!

MEEZOOGIRL 02-17-2010 01:07 PM

Went to weight today.. I tried my scale at home, and was down almost 4lbs.. Then get to MRC at about 11:30.. Jump on the sale.. And she says down 1lb.. HUH?? Totally frustrated. I know my scale weighs a little less, but 3lbs.. I guess I should just be happy that it was down.. Right?? I always weigh in the same thing, so it's not my clothes. I didn't eat anything exept breakfast.. Just had to vent. Hopefully it'll be better next week..

SalaamDementia 02-17-2010 04:22 PM

Oh I know your pain! My scale does that to me too. My weight never seems to be right on that evil thing. I really need to invest in a better one. But if I weigh at home then go to MRC it can be a difference of 2-3 lbs up or down. So sometimes good, sometimes bad. Uhg.

I am new to the program, well a month in today and so far I have lost 13lbs, but then put 1lb back on and I was totally devastated. I stayed OP and I will go WI tonight and got to the fitness class. I am in Omaha too, have you every gotten one of the rocks? I am not sure if the center on 120th and Blondo have them, but I didn't get one at my 10lbs; I just signed the board. Any tips for a newbie? Thank you :)

Hi! yes i got all the rocks, i always had to ask them, coz they forget, but they definitely have them, samples of them are stacked opposite of the weigh scale, so when you go in next time, just tell 'em 'hey i didnt get my rock!' .

My one tip for that center would be: go see Charlotte. She is absolutely fabulous, and knows how to motivate you and show you stuff you dont see, the others are great too, but Charlotte just clicks with me i guess.

Good luck on your journey and if you have any questions, just ask.

@kimmermarie
I am having surgery b/c of cancer. It is next Wednesday...so my anxiety is starting to climb...which of course I have a feeling may affect my weight. So far I haven't fallen off program :crossed: (hope it stays that way). We will know more after surgery. I was telling my bf...well my WI after surgery should be less since we are removing body parts. I try to keep my sense of humor through all of this. ;)

karla 02-17-2010 10:03 PM

@meezoogirl
Don't get discouraged....like you said @ least you didn't gain!

p.s. I tracked the difference everytime I WI between my home scale & MRC's scale there is @ least a 2lb difference...every scale is calibrated differently. Keep your head up. :grouphug:

Karla - Do keep in touch. I am a firm believer that a positive mental attitude helps the body recover quicker...and I think the same goes for weight loss. You're using it for both. Keep up the good work!!

Well...had my WI and got my 40lb Rock!!! YAY! I actually lost 2.5lbs in the last week. Talk about a confidence booster. You know how some weeks you feel like you lost and other weeks it doesn't feel like it? This was a doesn't feel like it week, but what do I know :) Looking forward to another good week :)

Those are the best weeks :) CONGRATS! i better make sure you dont somehow catch up, as i think i am having a plateau of some sort :) But am happy for you! Awesome job!

Hvnlymzic 02-18-2010 02:15 PM

Thanks Nabeel!! I'm pretty proud of me too. Don't worry about the plateau...you'll break through it and put us all to shame soon enough. I doubt I'll ever pass you. I'd like to be close to 55lbs lost by Easter (late March). That would feel really good. The rocks are cracking me up. Signing the boards is nice, but I get to take the rocks home. I'm thinking about doing a before and now picture. I haven't compared pictures and I really should. I think I'd be impressed with the difference.

55 lbs by easter seems reasonable, i have no doubt that you will get it!

Thanks for your encouragement, appreciate it :)

I am so doing the following things when i reach 50:

- before/after picture ( have already picked out the before pic lol)
- Have a pizza night with a friend at my favorite place
- Get rid of my old clothes. ( i think 50 lbs is a 'safe' enough barrier, until now i am scared to 'loose' it again just like that, dunno why).

So in short i NEED that 50, i WANT that 50 so bad and i WANT/NEED it before February is over ;)

I'm doing a little happy dance for your 40lb. rock!

karla 02-18-2010 04:02 PM

Went to WI today.....so sad b/c apparently I have hit my 1st "plateau". Anyone have any tips on how to break through besides water, water, water. I haven't gone off program at all.

Hvnlymzic 02-18-2010 04:40 PM

Change your diet Karla...If you normally eat something, dump it for a week. Sometime (or all the time if you're me) we get into ruts and eat the same things over and over because we're comfy with them. Shake it up a little. Eating more fish is always a good plan too...lots of protein there.

Thanks for the happy dance too :)

Thats awesome that you got a 40lb. rock today! way to go! You are an inspiration for all of us newbies :carrot:

TeresaG 02-18-2010 06:36 PM

hvnlymzic-congrats on the 40lbs and the rock. My center doesn't do anything like that.

Karla-you will be in my thoughts. I hope everything goes well for you and don't add the stress of worrying about not losing weight this week. When we are stressed, our bodies do funky things. I love your picture, you two look like you are just having so much fun. Keep your humor, it's what helps us get through hard times and makes the good times even better.

NWALoser 02-18-2010 06:54 PM

I would like everyone's thoughts and opinions on this one...On program previously I was discouraged from using premade turkey sausage, or lunch meat type products.

I would really like to use the premade turkey sausage links and lunch meat. Does anyone else do this? Results?

The soft cheese thing... First time around I simply used cheese and most of it soft if I remember. Does this affect anyone's results?

Hvnlymzic 02-18-2010 07:09 PM

Thanks Teresa!!

NWA - I've had premade turkey sausage links and turkey ham and turkey hotdogs...it's not perfect on plan of course because of the salt content usually. Used sparingly, I don't think it'll ruin anything, give yourself some extra water when you eat them and don't do it too often.

I do the same thing! I have gotten into a routine of eating the same thing. Ok what I think I am going to do is: add more fish (which I was planning on doing b/c of Lent & also chicken & turkey can become a bit redundant), more protein shakes, and I am not going to take any of the protein bars to see the affect on the next WI. I think the protein bars were a big factor that affected my WI. No wonder they taste so good! bahahahaha.

Thank you for those encouraging words :) BTW that is a bummer that you are not offerred the rocks @ your ctr. do they offer something else? I know it is only a rock, but those little things mean a lot....you know.

The costco near me has a reduced sodium organic herb deli sliced turkey which I've been eating for lunch sometimes. It's really tasty and 6 oz of the turkey has the same amount of sodium as 6 oz of the cottage cheese.

It's made by a brand called Columbus. Good luck!
