  • Quote: Well taytay and friends...
That's a very interesting question to me b/c I have just found out the same!! Sorry I've been away so long guys... I didn't want to make the announcement until I knew for sure but it is confirmed, I am expecting... SURPRISE!!! My due date is July 3rd. We are all very very happy and feel truly blessed even though it was not planned for this year. I have struggled with PCOS and infertility for many years since having my daughter 12 years ago and losing weight was the key to turning it all around. Thank goodness for MRC and all of you! So taytay, to answer your question, yes, they will put your program on hold for you. I happened to be out of program when I found out 2 weeks ago but they said if I choose to come back after delivery they will let me rejoin without the original joining fees whatever that sums up to. Anyways, Congratulations to you! Keep us updated on your progress :0) As for myself, I have put myself into maintenance... doing pretty good with that and maintaining at 186-187. MRC was not very forthcoming or helpful in suggestions for maintenance obviously b/c I told them the news. They basically said just eat sensibly. I basically nixed the protein drinks (avoiding aspartame) and added in an extra starch in the am as well as a cup of skim milk, lunch is the same, Dinner is the same, extra snack of carbmaster yogurt (80 cal, 1.5 g fat, 6 carbs, 13 g protein) and an extra starch with 2 tbsp of peanut butter at night. This seems to be doing the job. I've had a few other indulgences here and there but on those days I just skip the snack and amazingly I've stayed the same! I have an Ultrasound today, hoping for more good news :0). I'm really hoping I keep this one under check and will not go crazy and gain 65 lbs like I did with the last one! I plan to continue exercising and check in with all of you. That should keep me focused hopefully! Anyways, If you see me/know me on facebook, I have not formally announced this yet so I'm not posting it on FB currently but I just couldn't keep avoiding all of you my good friends at 3FC! Wishing all of you the best as we near the holidays... stick with it, It's worth it!!
    Karen....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: carrot:

I am so very happy for you. What great news you shared with us!!! You just stay healthy and keep that baby healthy....we will be all here to enjoy your pregnancy with you. (You too taytay) I am so happy today!!!!
  • congrats, taytay and karen!! what fun news from both of you! we will all be looking forward to hearing updates
  • I am just working like crazy today....very busy!! Looking forward to the vanilla wafers I got last week for lunch!!! They are soooo yummy!!!
  • Congratulations Karen!
I am so very happy for you and your family. It sounds like you already have your plan in place and it's working for you. Yesterday reuse lady posted the breakdown of percentages for the mrc diet and those percentages carry through to maintenance as well. I don't remember off hand, but I did save it so if you can't find it let me know.

Please keep in touch with us and let us know how everything is going. Congratulations again.
  • I love 3FC's. I don't post that much but I do read all the threads and gain lots of knowledge and support from all of you. So thanks!

Also, very irritated today. WI this am and was expecting to finally sign the 10# board but no I gained a #. UGH!!!!! My counselor put me on the meta-quick plan for the next 4 days so another $30 bucks out the window for meal replacement shakes and bars but hopefully this will work and tell my body that it's time to LET GO of all this fat. I'll let you know. My next WI is Saturday.
  • Hello everyone, I WI today and lost 5 lbs. I know that's not alot but I feel good about the beginning of my journey. I start on days 5-10 tomorrow and feel energized to continue on, don't get me wrong it was not easy being so restricted and boy Saturday was hard, we went to the movie and to the mall.
The popcorn and soda was calling me but I said no. I want to take control and be more disciplined about my choices. I'm praying for strength. Thanks for listening...
  • 5 pounds is really, really good! don't take away from how awesome your accomplishment is.
  • sexyrene,

That is awesome! I totally understand how you feel as I am just on day 10 and have lost 9 lbs! It is so motivating to see the lbs come off isnt it! Great job and keep up the good work!
  • WOO HOO Karen and Taytay!! I'm very happy for you both!
  • BIG congrats to Taytay and Karen!! I had an MRC baby too...my first time around on plan. Weight loss was the key for me as well and I paused my plan always intending to come back. My advice is don't do what I did. Eat sensibly during your pregnancy. They do have a pregnancy/breastfeeding menu and if you'd like it, let me know and I'll send it your way. I didn't follow it, but i regret that. I really wish I had. Instead I'm digging myself out of my pregnancy induced hole. Oh well.

I traveled last week...*sigh*. I didn't intend to eat off plan, but i sure did. Pretty much I didn't want to inconvenience everyone i stayed with to make me special food, but I also didn't take my supplements which is no ones fault but my own. I'm not looking forward to my WI this week, but I'll go and have already begun to get myself back on track now that I'm home. I never fell off like this last time I was on MRC so this was all new for me and not worth it. What a waste. I WI tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully they'll skip the lecture and we can just move on with life. We'll see.

What do you mean 5 lbs is not a lot? You lost that in less than a week, that's awesome! Be proud of what you did in a short time. Also be proud of saying no to the soda and popcorn.
  • Hi! At WI I lost .5 lbs. So that brings my total up to 10.5 lbs so far and I'm on Day 9 of the program. They took my measurements and I've lost 14 inches. I knew I was losing inches but was shocked when they told me the amount.

I was excited to get to sign the 10 lb board.

Tonight I'm taking the Thanksgiving cooking class they are hosting--it should be fun.
