  • Welcome Sam and I, too, was in teh same situation. I actually had gastric bypass surgery in May, 2005, lost 120 pounds, got pregnant, ate anything/everything I wanted and was at 214 when I began this journey. It's good that you realized that now and are back OP!

Karen, you're too funny. I met Little Edie Wednesday night and she had some of the 'old' DC pudding and I've had it the last 2 nights and DO lick the bowl!! It tastes so good, compared to the new crud. I,too, love the shakes but I also like the bars too. So far I'm okay with not being hungry, kind of surprising. I'm afraid that after losing this much so quickly that I'll hit a plateau, too, but I know it will come off! And I'm so close to goal I can't wait!

One small NSV for me today. I went to renew my driver's license today and got to change me weight! I of course put 145 which is my goal weigth, but still I know I'm going to get there as it's only 9 more pounds. So yes I did fudge a bit but I'm okay with that

And I know what you mean, Karen, about the gramatical errors. I type faster than I think sometimes and know there are prolly tons of mis-spellings. I miss spell check!
  • [QUOTE=noahsmama;2984013]Oh that sounds delicious! I'm on MQ too through Sunday and I must say that i just LOVE the results and I've still got 2 full days yet to go! I know I'm getting spoiled with losing all this weight this quickly (and probably will result in a plateau) but this is just what I needed to get my head back in the game after last week. With my 8 pounds I gained last week, I've lost a total of 11 pounds as of this morning at home. QUOTE]

noahsmama, did you lose 11 pounds JUST on the metaquick? That's incredible! I'm having a planned several days off plan next week, going to vegas so why try to fight it? My fav counselor saw me yesterday. She was supportive and said to go on the metaquick as soon as I get back. I am not going to let that give me license to go crazy though, but like you said earlier, a few indulgences. I hope the metaquick will work for me like it has for you!

  • Hello ladies! What is this "chocolate powder" you are talking about? Oh, I am excited I get my first creamy HNS tonight...and it's gonna be choc. pudding. Looking forward to it!

Oh, have to say, last night I went to get a massage and afterwards I was driving home, it was late, I was hungry...kept telling myself that I could just go through a drive thru and get something small. But, I told myself, no not this time! I AM going to succeed and stay OP! And, I did it! I came home and had cottage cheese (lol) but it was better than a nasty greasy cheeseburger! Felt really good to say no!

Yes Keirasmommy, That's the way to do it... keep retraining your brain!!
  • My center now has vegi powder and chocolate powder. With the vegi powder you can use it to replace 1 serving of vegi's per day with 2 scoops of powder or just an anioxident boost by taking 1 scoop. The chocolate is the same but with fruit instead of vegies. I love the choc powder and hate the vegi. It has a mint taste but I hate it. I have talked to people who love it though. So 2 scoops replaces and 1 scoop just adds nutrients and antioxidents. Hope this helps. I was introduced to the powders when I did MQ a couple weeks ago for the added nutrients but you can use them anytime I believe... please check with the center's though, don't rely on my memory

Speaking of MQ... I have only lost 1 lb from the time I tried it till now, 2 weeks later. I was told it is common to not loose on MQ then loose a bunch after going back to the green menu. I have lost 12 inches recently but the weight not moving is bugging me. One thing I haven't been ablt to stick to yet is working out. I know that will help but I am just having trouble starting it up... if anyone has suggestions great!!!
  • Great job to all of you who have lost. I have been stuck for two weeks and am staring to get bummed about it. I will WI tomorrow and am going to ask them about MQuick. I need something to get the scale moving again.

Welcome to the 'newbies'. Always nice to have new MRC friends.

RIP...I know exactly what you mean. I went close to two months with only losing 2 pounds. That was probably what I would consider was the most expensive 2 pounds I have ever spent!!!

Are you on the same menu that you started with? Just curous how long I will be stuck on this one. I had heard when you go to onederland you change? That means I may be on this for quite some time yet.
  • Noahsmama, The MQ is going great for me too this week, down a total of 5.5 in 5 days...I have a bar for breakfast and a MRS for lunch, just like Karen, the bars just do not sustain me until dinner so I have a shake at lunch. I am planning on going back on green menu Monday, and I will do MQ two days before and two days after Thanksgiving, eat normal Thanksgiving with family, I'm already planning ahead

BTW- my counselor told me that not everyone looses on the MQ some even gain because they are carb sensitive, as the MQ provides more carbs.

I LOVE THE THANKSGIVING IDEA!!! THANKS GWE! :0)
  • Karen1234,
What a handsome man you picked up! What an adorable couple!

    FL,
I know you feel my pain and know you can help me through this. I am going to ask about MQ tomorrow. Once I get to onderland they will put me on the green menu (I think). Same as the one I am on know except for 4 oz of protein rather than 6. What really stinks is I have been starting to eat 4 oz once in awhile to try to kick this in the butt but it does not seem to be working. I really should not complain this is really the only time through this journey that I have hit a big plateau like this. It sure sucks!

Thank You Rip! I should say that is my husband :0) He looked just like Patrick Swayze when we were dating... oh so dreamy!! With a great personality, sweet disposition, Tom Selleck dimples on both cheeks and chin and very funny... any surprise I fell madly in love?

Well see, I went on a full binge eating from last Tuesday through Sunday and gained 8 pounds during that time. So yes I've lost 11 pounds, but 8 of that was from last week and the other 3 are just a bonus! Enjoy your trip to vegas and get back on it when you get back. I'm also drinking over 200 oz. of water a day.

GWE, that's exactly what i've been doing, bar for bfast and shake for lunch. And I LOVE your thanksgiving idea but maybe I'll be in stabilization then?! I'm hoping but I doubt it. Maybe it's a good thing that I'm losing while on MQ and that I'm not that carb sensitive?! hrm, very interesting.

Keirasmommy, way to go on passing up fast food! Doesn't it feel great to have moments like that when your will power is at its best?! Keep it up!!

Rip and FL I don't blame you for wanting to try MQ. Honestly, I was very hesitant to advocate for it after reading such mixed reviews on here. But I believe it's working for me. I'm very pleased with my results thus far.

Daizy, how long did you do MQ? I've done 5 days thus far and have 2 left. Just curious, as you probably already know they say you can do it 7 days out of a month.

Karen, your pic is awesome and I was always a big fan of Patrick Swayze
  • went and weighed in today and i'm back to the weight i was at before all the hospital dramz started, so i'm excited to finally move forward!! i told the chick at the center today that when i finally hit that darned 20-pound mark, i'm going to sign the board so big there won't be room for anyone else. :P

i also brought up my contract--it's due to expire on 11/23, and i know i'll be nowhere near goal by then, and i'm concerned about the extra expense but she told me there's probably no reason for me to be concerned and that she didn't think anyone will say anything. which is awesome, but i have a feeling i'll end up having the re-sign anyway. oh well, totally worth it.

WELL DONE leahruthie! You hang in there, and you will be signing that board before you know it! Congrats!

You sign it so big that we will all see it Leahruthie. Good for you, you did good for not being OP for a few weeks. I too questioned about not being at goal when my contract expires, and she said not to worry about it since I have been coming in and following plan, that they will work with me. That was interesting to hear. I think they figure by not extending our time longer, they may lose us and lose all the suppliment income. I think they are more worried about that then another $100 to sign up for 17 more weeks. At least I hope so. I've got to really bust buns to reach their goal they set for me by 12/12. So we shall see what happens when the time comes. So glad you are back.
