  • Quote: Hi everyone!
I weighed in yesterday and lost 4 pounds! That hasn't happened since my first week on pre-conditioning. I have lost slow and steady since then, like a pound a week. I have not been following the program 100 % until the 4 days before I weighed in. So.... logic would tell me to stay on program. Of course, like many of us, we are going out of town this weekend. We are staying with family, hopefully it wont be too bad.
    Skinny dust to all!

Wow!! 4 pounds is great! I haven't lost that much in one week since pre-conditioning either. You're rockin'!! Keep up the great work!

    Hey sknymom2b
Congrats! That's an excellent loss and reward for your work.. I understand your plight though.. It is a real mindgame sometimes to stay on plan. I didn't have this problem in the beginning but as I rounded the 3 mo. I've noticed I am struggling more than ever.... I've been mostly OP, I deviate by not measuring and eating out more often, eating the bread at restaurants (although I always limit it to no more than 1/2 a piece) and having cashews in the afternoon or at night, usually 6-8 whole ones.. ugghhh.... I know that I'm only slowing myself down but for some reason I am addicted and have been struggling with this all week. For some reason, logic takes a time out just when I am craving those darn things.... Well, I'm going to have to take it over again and get back in the game... I think I will take some time to write out my "what I will do list" to help me stay focused on my goals and reason for doing this in the 1st place. Temptation is tough but I will just have to get tougher. Have a great weekend and for everyone!

  • Congratulations To Everyone
Just wanted to say congratulations to everyone for their losses in May, seems the losses are continueing on into June. I am just in just a good mood today, I finally got to sign the 40 pound loss board. I was so suprised that I was able to lose 4 pounds last week which let me hit my 40 pound mark right on the money. I know the one of the main reasons I have been able to hang in here an do so good is because of all the posts I read on here. I know the future is bright for all of us as long as we hang in here! Huggers to everyone!!

Great job...to a girl with a great name! I agree about the posts here...I was in a slump and found this forum by accident and then I became much more relaxed and things just started to happen!

  • I've been off for awhile, the last two weeks of school have been a killer. I've lost nearly 18 pounds! I gave in the other day though and had a piece of cheesecake at the office picnic. I gained 2 pounds at weigh in saturday! I'm back on track now though. It's really clicked in my mind mentally how this works so I think I can make it work for a lifetime. I'm flirting with signing that 20 pound board and can not wait! This week is my first week of summer vacation and I plan on going through my closet to find clothes too big to get rid of or have altered. It's a wonderful feeling!
  • I've been noticing lately that I have an odd taste in my mouth in between meals. I can't exactly describe it. Is this related to ketosis? I looked it up on WebMd and they say to drink more water. I usually get between 120-150 oz. per day and you'd think that'd be enough. Has anyone else experienced this and how long did it last? I hardly chew gum because I'm always drinking.
  • I have another question. Does anyone out there have an idea on a pizza alternative? Warning: I am NOT a good cook by nature and seasoning things 'to taste' just isn't in me.

I bought some pieces of flatbread that are 90 or 100 calories a piece (I don't remember exactly) and thought I'd cut those in half. I was wondering about blending some diced tomatoes and then using ground round/bison/turkey. I thought about using dry onion while cooking the meat, as well as green peppers and top with some type of shredded cheese. My mouth is watering at jsut the thought of it!

For some reason, I thought we could only have hard cheese at breakfast/lunch. I called the center and they said you can have it at any meal, but only once a day. What do the rest of you do?
  • Hi everyone!! Just wanted to check in and say hello again. I've been on vacation in LA so haven't posted in a while. Hopefully life will get back to normal now. Had a great vacation but ate out almost every single meal! I'm not weighing myself for a while. Don't want to be shocked by the number. I'm going back on program tomorrow for a few weeks to make sure I drop any weight I gained. I'll let you all know once I brave it and weigh myself.

Welcome to all the newbies and congrats to all who have had losses!! Keep up the great work....you're one step closer to your goal!

    Hey Noahsmama,
That's how I always know when I'm in ketosis, it is a bad taste, like I need to go brush my teeth every few hrs and I'm pretty sure it is none to pleasant for the person across from me :0) ... I think you're getting plenty of water though, I wouldn't go too overboard on it. I work with patients all day so when I notice it I will run to the back and pop a piece of very strong minty gum in and chew for a few minutes then discard and get back to work. This usually helps for a little while :0). I don't know if you work or not but I suppose when little Noah takes notice it's time to get the gum out, lol, lol... For me it usually lasts a few days at a time, then something I eat will cause me to get out of ketosis and I start over again... It's not the most pleasant SE of this plan but I sure do like the rest of it! Have a great week!

So I made my pizza (delicious btw) and half way through I called my center just to see if having cheese and dinner was ok because I had a BAD feeling and sure enough they said NO (like I thought) But it was too late as I had already eaten it. Will this put me out of fat-burning mode for 72 hrs?! If it does I will be PO'd because I've been doing SO well OP and the center manager was the one who told me it was ok. ARGH!? Sorry..need to vent. So frustrating.

The taste went away thus far but I've had it for a few days but as you can read from above I'll probably be out of it now, thanks to my center. Thank you for sharing! I thought that's probably what it was but wanted to be sure.
