All of the salt I use is SeaSalt which I am told has no sodium, I have been told sodium can cause stalls so I try to avoid it.
I also try to avoid cheese because I have also been told this can cause stalls.
Don't know who told you that sea salt doesn't have sodium, but it does. All salt is sodium choride. What sea salt usually doesn't have is as many additives. Regular table salt actually usually has dextrose in it - a form of sugar.

Good for you (and your counselor) for getting your husband on the healthy-eating & exercise bandwagon!
  • Quote: So I was just looking for something different... I'm also getting tired of the 2 eggs scrambled or 1 egg 1 oz. cheese omelet, so I thought I would try Sandy's recipe of 3 egg whites with 1/4 cup oatmeal (which I think Meemo had suggested to me earlier also).
I mix the 4 oz cottage cheese with oatmeal - never tried egg whites

Oh, and as far as cooking chicken goes - that's where a Foreman grill comes in really handy. You can marinate it or sprinkle on any kind of spices you like & grill it - only takes about 8 minutes. Sometimes I like to cube them up & saute them in a little olive oil - same thing, you can use any kind of spices you like.
  • Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.I'm glad to be here.

Ok Soo I'm on day6 of my first week on the beige menu annnd...i went to shoneys w the fam. I'm visiting them in georgia. Well I sticked to program pretty much but I have been doin it a bit diff. For example my mom got in town last night at midnight and we stayed up til 6 am so at 2 am i had a hns to keep me from starving. Then I had breakfast at 6 30 stuck to program w that. Then didnt have lunch til 2 30 and had a grilled chicken breast and lettuce from the salad bar w no dressing but the chik was seasoned way more than usual. Soo my question is. do you think that will affect my losses?
Cuz between day 1 and 3 i lost 2 pounds now i'm thinkin i may have messed up. Thoughts?
  • Quote: How wonderful to check in and find so many old friends: Goal, Memmo, Alexiah, Shine, etc. I lost from 220 to 182 and then fell in love with Sam. I did a fairly good job of maintaining in the 180's until June and then realized I was starting to do old stuff and get careless. I regained to 191, so I re-enrolled two weeks ago. I'm on the 4-day Meta-Slim menu (which is challenging but okay and sure gives me a sense of regaining control). What interfered the most with staying OP after I fell in love was spending time together. I was somehow embarrassed to admit that I really need this program (even though Sam knew about it and was supportive). This time around, I've told him how important it is to me and what I need to do when we're together. He was, of course, wonderful about it even asking me this morning what he needs to provide for me this weekend. So, it's really up to me to take a deep breath and stayed dived back into the MRC water. I also got up the guts at my re-enrollment to say that there's a counselor that I don't like and don't want to work with. They were swell about it and now when I'm there, that counselor and I just act like the other person isn't there, which is okay with me. She just always had a way of making me feel bad about myself. I'm sure she's fine for some other people.

Anyway, friends, I know I've said this before, but I'm back around and also thrilled to see that we now have our own 3fatchicks place!
So glad to see you back! I've been sick all week so am just now starting to catch up. Glad you're still happy with your Sam, too.
  • Quote: Is anyone familiar with this... sometimes I feel like I can't do this, that I will fail again like I always do. Once that thought creeps in, I start to not take care of myself. I don't quite care what I put in my mouth (re:animal crackers), I don't drink my water, don't take my vitamins... I can't fully verbalize what this feeling is. It's almost as if a voice inside me is saying, who do you think you are fooling trying to lose weight, you'll never do it, you'll always be the same weight you are now, so accept it and eat some animal crackers. I go through this every time I start a new program or diet, and it (the voice) usually ends up winning.

I really don't like this voice inside my head and I'm working really hard at shutting it up lol. This time I really want to be successful! Namaste, I love your u-turn analogy, it has been helping me a lot the last few days.

Well it's way past my bedtime, 'night all!

I DO get that same feeling - ALOT! But most recently with a good loss this week, it has helped me stay on course alot better. I also have been having a snack during the day of sugar-fee jello and sugar-free whip topping (I just found this the other day only 20 cal for 2tbs) I don't know if the whip topping is ok by MRC standards - but I'm eating it anyway! I swear its almost sinful tasting as far as I'm concerned! I also bought the mini crisps yesterday and had one of those late last night (they told me it counts as a creamy) and it really made me think I was getting a treat. It is hard - but look at how far you come already!! Your doing great girl - hang in there!
  • Quote: One more question before off to bed......
Most of my "fluff" is on my belly! I can't seem to lose it from here. My center keeps pushing CortiTrim......
Has anyone tried it? Does it work? I know I can get it way cheaper than at MRC, so if I hear positive things, I may get some to try.

Any tips on getting rid of the belly fat?

    Thanks All!

I have been taking the CortiTrim since I started - but I know my belly is alot less "fluffy" than it was when I started! So - I like to think it's helping me - and I won't risk not taking it if that tells you anything at all.
  • Quote: I'm new to the site and wanna introduce myself. I started week 1 on 7/7 and am looking to meet some great ppl while on our journies..

Welcome! You've come to the right place for friends, support and advice -

I don't think you've messed up too much by your evening activities - it's not like you ate a bunch of chocolate or anything. It's important to not go longer than 4 or 5 hr between meals (or HNS) or else your body may go into starvation mode. This doesn't count obviously during the time your asleep. Maybe someone else on the board will have better idea on this tho.
  • Quote: Down another 1.5lbs since Wednesday - now I'm officially 1.5 lbs from stabilizing and .5 lbs from that 90 lb board

Welcome cheeriloos - I'm glad you found us! thelish - I'm going to HyVee to see if I can find them - thanks!! Have to get a dress for the wedding . . . today, nothing like last minute shopping, and they have a HyVee at the new mall. Wish me luck! Grad School - nice job on the recovery. Even better is the fact that you made the healthiest choices in a uncontrolled situation. That shows a real commitment to your new lifestyle. Most would have said oh well, I might as well indulge. Good on you! heartscry - Welcome back and thank you for the information on the Corti-trim. That makes a lot of sense. I did add that a month ago - high stress job as a Realtor - and I am seeing a big difference in the middle. But I'm also working out a lot too.

    Have a great Saturday everyone!

I wonder if I haven't seen you once already - do you get your hair done by Kai? I think I was in there back in May - and he may have asked you to go on a coffee run for him?? As far as the "Riding" goes - I haven't had much of a chance to ride with my husband due to a 5 yr old at home still - so this Sturgis trip will be interesting - my butt may need some of the extra padding I've lost! Also - I found the snack toast at Bakers - the melba toast aisle right across from the icecream!! Go figure -

I'm exactly the same, all of my weight is in my belly. It's heriditary for me, my mother and I are built the same. Stick thin legs and arms - well maybe not 'stick' but thin compared to the rest of our body - and then here's this huge protruding belly lol. It will go away eventually, it will just be the last to go. For me, my pants will start being loose in the hips and butt, but still fit in the waist. Weight training and crunches/core work do help with your weight loss of course, but there's really not much you can do to target the fat in the stomach, as your body decides what fat goes first.

Haven't tried cortislim... I only take the MRC-6 and the Metabolic Appetite Control.
  • Quote: Do you have a Publix in Statesboro? There is a brand called tax-i-mico. (spellig is a bit off I am sure). They are sold in the cold section where cheese and butter is in ours. They have flour and corn ones, they are only 25 calories a piece, so you can have 2.
Hey Goal4life, went to 2 publixs and 2 krogers in Savannah today. Found the corn tortillas for 25 a piece. Didn't see any flour ones. Do they really have the flour ones for 25? I would love those, but can't find them, and didn't see them on the website. Just thought I'd check back before I continue to search!!! LOL

    Thanks!!
    Missy
  • I have that same little voice in my head too! Especially lately, since I've been stuck in this spot for so long. I've been so close to giving up and just taking the loss I've gotten & trying to be content. Even tho I'm no where near where I want to be - it's hard 'cuz I keep feeling like a failure![/QUOTE]

But that's the thing, you're NOT a failure, look at how far you've come! Since I first started coming to this board I have looked up to you, I have no idea how you do it with 4 kids, a husband, AND a full time job, crazy! Don't let this little bump in the road trip you up. I hope the metaquick works!

Thelish, stuckingradschool, mom of boys- thanks for the kind words! You all have made me stronger, I feel a lot better today and have been able to stay completely on plan. Thelish I really like your 80/20 analogy!

Cheerilos and all the other newbies, welcome to the board!
  • Thank you... I guess I was having a bit of a pity party. I'm really hoping this MetaQuick thing works. Partly because my inlaws will be here the week after next & I would love to be thinner. (I know that's probably a pretty conceited sounding reason...) And, mostly just wanna see that scale move!
  • Well I went and weighed in yesterday and I have lostanother 1 1/2 lbs. Also our manager was in yesterday. Found out that the owner of Metabolic will be at our center Monday all day and they want me to meet her I had to write my success story and they took my picture.
I want all of you that are new that this does work I have lost 72lbs and lost 79 inches. I am in my thrid week of Stabilization.
I went and celebrated today I went and bought some new clothes. I wear a size 14 first time since I was in the 6th grade. I even bought me a pair of Levis jeans in size 14.
Well just wanted to share with all of you my friends. Melanie
  • HAWAIIBOUNDBY40 -I don't believe you will find a flour tortilla for 25 cal they typically have more calories than the corn I have only found the 25 in the corn. I've done this for 4 years and still haven't found any but they come up with new stuff all the time!!!
  • losingforhealth - way to go, you are an inspiration!!!
