Way to go CatWuv! Glad you got back on track! Congratulations on the 8.5 loss! That is awsome!

Welcome Ruth! Glad to have you join us! Just curious...Why did the doc tell you not to do Medifast...Was that just for post-op or did he not think it was a good program?

Wow...I have been so busy this last week and a half!! Thankfully the kids track out tomorrow for 3 weeks so things should slow down until mid Oct when they go back to school.

I was supposed to weigh in at Duke today but had to cancel due to yet another meeting so I go on Monday. I am hoping that it is not too bad when I weigh in because we have done a lot of take out lately since we have been on the go so much. Keep your fingers crossed for me

Ruth - did your doctor tell you not to do Medifast because it's too restrictive for someone healing after surgery? I'd bet he was thinking it wasn't enough nutrition for healing. Your body needs excellent nutrition in order to regenerate and heal, so Medifast is most likely way too restrictive. It would take longer to heal and get strong again because there are so few calories. Great job getting back into a plan again!

I hit a plateau where I lost nothing in about a week, but I stuck with it and now I'm down another couple pounds! People are beginning to see it, too. That really helps the motivation when someone tells you that you look good! I was really tempted during the plateau, but I tried to stay strong. I'm keeping my eyes on the prize - 100 pounds thinner by graduation next year!! That's my ultimate goal.

Have a great weekend, everyone! I'm off to the soccer field to watch my grandson play.

nursejoan! powering through those plateaus OP really is a confidence booser isn't it! And it is great that as it broke you started getting recognition from others! It seems like it takes so long for other people to notice...but once one person does...everyone starts commenting! Keep up the good work! You are doing GREAT!!!

Romans...how is it going since you have rededicated yourself? Can't wait to hear about the pounds dropping off!

Gator- Good luck on the weigh in. Hoping for good results! Let us know!

Yesterday was interesting.
My Aunt is the worlds best southern cook! She takes alot of pride in her cooking. Southern cooking means that everything tastes better with a little extra added fat and/or sugar. My aunt cooks all of your favorites when You come to visit and would be very ofended it you didn't eat them. A real food pusher. So...she had a baby shower for my cousin yesterday. A danger zone that I was afaid to go into.

I was pretty proud of my solution. I called her ahead of time and told her that I was on a very special diet and that I really wanted to come to the shower but I didn't want to offend anyone if I couldn't eat what they made. I told her I had to bring my own food along and only eat that. She agreed, and even ran interference for me with some of the other food pushers that attended! Of couse since I had made such a point of letting my aunt know that I could not eat anything at the shower...It was a matter of pride to not touch the goodies table! So I made it through OP!!!! And still got to participate and wish my cousin well! Whew What a relief!

How did your weekend go?

Another newbie here, I've had the MF meal replacements around for a few months, but have really just been playing with them, never sticking on plan for more than a day. This past week with dealing with the hurricane outages, I realized how sedentary I've become, and how difficult it was going to be to break my kids of bad habits, if I couldn't break them myself. So here I am, hoping to learn something from you experienced ladies.

Hello Everyone!
I just want to say that I am hanging in there since I re-committed to MF. I have learned that I really need my MF oatmeal muffins/cookies when I get up yo help keep the hungries down for the rest of the morning. When I am off plan I spend so much more money on eating out (my number one vice) and I don't lose weight.
I hope that everyone is doing well and having a wonderful day!

Congratulations CatWuv on sticking with it. I can tell you it really pays off! And you are so right about being cheaper than eating out!

Wow! This thread has really died down this month. Where is everybody? How are you all doing?
