  • Wow...The Medifasters are on fire! Well done, everyone!

I'm having a bit of a tough time. My order went to the wrong address and I've been out of supplements for two days now. I have placed another order, and hope to have it within a week, but in the meantime I need a new plan.

I know somewhere on this forum someone mentioned cobbling together something using products from local stores, so I'm off to find out as much as I can about that. Thanks for being so inspiring, ladies! And thanks, too, for posting in the "What's for Lean and Green" thread. I love the thought of a bank of ideas for days when it's hard to think!

I was all woozy and nauseous from low sugar. I know the MF police will yell, but I am going to add an EAS Myoplex shake before my workouts. I can't NOT go to karate. And a 90 cal MF shake isn't going to get me through it. The workouts are brutal and torch anywhere from 400-600 cal depending on how hard you work...

Anyone else having problems with things...ahem...moving? I have added sugar free fiber drinks to my day to no avail. I feel pretty backed up at times. Advice?
Hi Boudicca, I don't know if you have access to the myMF site but if you do you should read some in the Exercise Forum about people who workout a ton especially who do a lot of weight lifting while on MF. If I remember correctly they sometimes suggest people who are doing a lot of exercise do the 4&2 plan. That's two Lean & Greens and 4 supplements. Maybe this might work for you on really heavy karate days. If you do decide to do something like the Myoplex just make sure you know how many carbs are in it. It might throw you out of ketosis and slow your loss. Might not though since everyone's body is different.

As far as thing "moving" goes, try adding a teaspoon of olive oil into your greens every day. That's what helps me.

Good for you! It's so important to take care of yourself. I know, as a mom of 6 and a caregiver I tend to neglect myself sometimes. I struggle with self-esteem issues, too and find that my perception of myself changes with as my weight changes.

Melissa: How are you doing? You mentioned you really
liked the chicken noodle soup so I had that for lunch yesterday. It was yummy! I froze my banana shake
today and ate it in a bowl with a spoon. I'm going to
add some fresh broccoli to my broccoli soup for lunch, today.

Maya: Thankyou for posting the link to the recipes!

    You ladies rock!

    Here's a little for everyone!

I am learning to live with the hunger sensation. I dunno, sometimes the sensation actually makes me feel leaner and tighter. Our culture seems to ne

Isn't there a Medifast 70 shake with more protein and slightly higher calories?

I use acidophilius pearls (brand name - Pearls). I get them at WalMart, but they're available online. I haven't even started my MF yet (I'm starting Monday), but those things might help....
  • Hi all!
You're welcome for the recipe link!
Also, Ms Bou, to keep things going, you might try supplementing with psyllium fiber in pill form (not the stir-in fiber supplements!). Although psyllium husk pills have a carb count, the husks are NOT digested. They are pushed through your system to keep things "going". You might try dosing in the am and the pm for 3 or 4 days to get things along.
While olive oil is a good idea, just keep in mind that if you are in Ketosis (the fat-burning stage), your body will burn this oil before it burns your body fat. Won't have a significant effect, but it WILL have an effect none-the-less!

That is so interesting! See, how would I know that if I didn't come here?
  • Hi, glad to see everyone is doing well and fighting the good fight.
One Day, one meal at a time..
    Hang in there.

  • Helloooooo Ladies!

I accidentally made FABULOUS oatmeal today. I normally soak my oatmeal while I shower, which makes it slighly more palatable. Today I added the water, splenda, and cinnamon and decided to take my shower later. Well, there is NO way I'm eating yucky unsoaked oatmeal, so I stuck it in the fridge and had a shake. Two hours later I took my oatmeal out of the fridge and nuked it for 2 minutes. Oh My Gosh!! It was almost like normal oatmeal! I'm so lucky I'm lazy!!!

Everyone have a wonderful MFing day!
  • Michelle: Lol! U are too funny!!! I definitely want to try that oatmeal... What do u mean by "nuked"? I have never heard that word in the seven years I have been in America... Do you mean microwaved? Sorry... the French Girl is loss... smile

Maya: I am gonna try the Husk supplement too... do you all take a lot of them every day?

Andrea: We started the same day... We definitely need to keep each other motivated! My headache did not start until today... and after drinking a diet coke, it seems to be going away... Our jobs are kind of similar... I am a high school teacher... I am kind of nervous about going back to work on Monday... I do not want to be in a bad mood for the kids...

I know i should not have weighed myself but... I lost 3 pounds already... I know it is mostly water, but i am so close to Onederland that it helps me stay on track and keep my eyes on the prize...

I just got up from a nap and I dreamt the whole time that i was cheating and eating forbidden food... I am so glad it was a dream... I also have to say that since i got up, i have been wanting to cheat, BUT YOU ladies are keeping me ON TRACK!!! Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!

I want to have a great body before i turn 29 (May 08), and with your help, I will finally be able to do it
  • As you can see i added a pic... Not my most glamorous pic in anyways... This was taken last Christmas, when i was at 215. I have nicer pics... But the point is for me to stay motivated so that I never look like that again!
  • Hi all1
I usually take 6 capsules of Psyllium husk in the morning with LOTS of water (please do this, as the fiber swells up, so you need the H2O!) and 6 capsules in the evening for 3 consecutive days each week.
    Just helps things along!
Oh, and Ms Michelle, I prep all my foods for the day first thing in the morning and let them soak. They all taste better that way, except for the vanilla shakes, where I don't notice a difference!
    Maya

ps Ms Flo, I think you are beautiful!!!
  • I had actually planned on prepping everything with water before I leave the house in the morning. I'm glad to know it will work...especially for things like the soup and chili. I'm kind of hesitant about using the tap water at school because the pipes are way old and the water tastes kind of funny. This way I can use my water filter at home...

Oh, Flo, what a shame we can't *hear* you on here. I think French and Italian accents are the prettiest. Nuking *is* microwaving, btw...

Ruth..thanks for fixing my smiley...Here's another one...Maybe it will work.
  • Flo, Yes, nuke is microwave....lol And I agree, you're cute!

How many of us are teachers?? I teach 10th grade English. I went back Thursday and found it MUCH easier to MF when I'm busy and MUCH more difficult. I didn't think about food so much. However, I was awake longer and moved around more, so I was much hungrier. That made me struggle a bit and think about eating.

I'm having a wicked headache today, but I don't think it's due to MF.

So as a visual reminder and motivator, I grabbed one of my martini glasses (martinis....yum) and tossed in one glass stone for each pound I lost. Hopefully I'll grow out of the martini glass and move on to a vase soon!!

When do we each weigh in?
    My day is Friday.
  • Michelle,

What a great idea! I think I too will get a glass jar also and throw in a stone for each pound. I weigh in each Sunday but still jump on the scale a few times a week. I think I am gravitating away from that though. It may be more fun to see the loss after a total of 7 days instead of an ounce or two here and there.

    Jen
  • Quote: Great Job!! My total loss for week one is 7 lbs. as well. Like you, 10 lbs would have been awesome, but seven is great too.

I not on plan totally. There is too much to eat and I'm not drinking as much water as I should. BUT I'm not eating things that I shouldn't so that's good. I'll try harder to eat all that I'm supposed to.
Ok. I went off plan this evening. Someone mentioned earlier how we are supposed to obstain from exercise for 2 weeks. I played basketball for 2 hours. Then I went skating for 2 1/2 hours. Exercise is definitely an appetite trigger.
