Default Daily for Friday August 7 - TGIF!

What a nice way to start the day! I love the thread showing support for the 3FC Mother Hens! The Clines are obvious idiots. I wonder if they might be disgruntled posters who got removed for advertising something or for flaming someone!

I am finally catching up with those tomatoes! Yummy salsas ready for Christmas gifts. Today I start basil - I freeze it for winter pesto. The pears are sitting waiting for me in the barn!

Nothing much planned today, a bit of laundry, a bit of accounting, a bit of goofing off. Piano practivr and a walk are the essentials.

Hope everyone has a nice Friday and will be ready for a super weekend.

Good Morning Ruth and Jenny and all those to come

Just dropped off dh and dd at their respective work/play places today and I just finished a quick fly lady in the kitchen. She's buzzing around me today because I know I have to clean my bedroom. Why is it always the last place in the house to get clean?

Other than that not much on the agenda. Sunday is our 4th anniversary and we are going to the casino Saturday night! Our neighbour is going to watch dd and we will have a lovely dinner and then--cha-ching! The slots are calling me.....I'm hardly a gambler, I might spend $50 and that's it.

Dh and I were very happy this morning, we couldn't wait to step on the scales Monday so we checked in today--WE BOTH LOST 4 POUNDS!!!! My dh is very happy and proud of himself and so am I. We're going to keep on trucking!

Have a great OP day everyone!

Talking Good Afternoon All!!

I woke up a little before 5 a.m. this morning, remember thinking, awww, it's Friday-last day of school for the week and I can sleep till 7 tomorrow! Next thing I knew it was 6:45 and DH was saying "Aren't you waking Michael up for school!!?" And I reply "DH, it's only 5:30", "No DW, it's 6:45"....Aw **it yelps DW as she jumps her chubby hiney out of the bed! I thought that would off set my whole morning, but surprisingly that "rushed" feeling had the breakfast and mess cleaned up, some paperwork done, picked out mini blinds, den straightened up, all bathroom junk out and ready for the painters, beds made, shower/makeup/hair done before noon! Gee, maybe I should start my day like that every day! NOT!

I think DH is a bit tiffed at me. Some of you may remember we started doing remodeling of the bedrooms/bath/formals in January. All the crap that happened with DS set us back timewise and financially but this is how it's gone....

January--ripped out all the carpeting in bedrooms
took out old tub and ceramic in hall bath
painted hall and DS's room and guest room
took mini's out of 2 BRM's & formals

Feb~put DS's beds back in room (still no carpet)
painted our bedroom & bath
Problems with DS-so nothing else done

March--put in carpet

April--put in tub (only)-no tile, no faucets, notta
May-Put green board around tub
June-put up shower tile
Which brings us to September!!!

Now, let me tell you what's been done to our rent house where stepson and family live--June, repainted, July, new roof, September, new carpet!! AND THEY DON'T PAY RENT yet alone for all THEIR improvements!! When DH jumped up at 8:30 last night to call the carpet installers for them it ticked me off. I tried to calmly tell him....I understand they want to live in a nice hope, but DARNIT!! SO DO I! I've been patient, BUT still no useable bathroom, no carpet in the formals, no mini blinds in bath/DS's room or formals, still no new sofa! CAUSE WE'RE TOO BUSY PAYING ALL THEIR BILLS, THEIR GROCERIES, DAY CARE EXPENSE, THEIR IMPROVEMENTS, THEIR CAR NOTE AND THEIR FURNITURE PAYMENTS!! They live better than we do!

Well, he got up and was a little "cool" this morning. He came out to the office and as I was making the bed, I heard weird noises, it was DH and his measuring tape getting measurements for the mini's. As I'm doing some paperwork he throws the paint samples at me to select color for bath. He remeasured the formals for carpet (since we hope to sell next year I'm not doing hardwood in there) AND, when I announced the HomeLife Furniture had a going out of business sale, he didn't gripe. Now the painters are in the bathroom as I type and he's on his way to the carpet store! Gee, guess it pays sometimes to **tch!

Sorry to rant, just a bit frustrated! Another male bashing day, I guess. Oh Great! As I'm typing this stepson just walked in an says he needs $700 to get his car out of the shop! And I'm carless cause DH is driving my Suburban cause he needs a new truck !!!! I don't mind helping out BUT between the two stepsons, they're draining us! The 30 yr old stepson calls for his monthly $300 around the 20th of every month !!!I'm going to shut up now.

I'll be back. When I can be more pleasant!

Again, sorry to vent but Susie's still out of town!

Yippee, I was a good little Chick all week and it paid off. Lost 3.6 pounds this week which takes care of the 3.4 I gained due to too much salt the day before weigh-in last week. It also puts me at a 16 pound loss since mid-June when I started WW. Now I know why they call it Winning Points. You lose .5 one week, gain .8 the next week, lose 1.4 the next, etc etc. lotsa points.
Pooky, so proud of you and your DH. I think it's just marvelous that you're doing it together. That must be a terrific motivation for you.
Peachie, very happy to hear that Jiff is doing so much better. Please pass along a big hug from me. It sounds as if she's turned the corner. Do you have any idea how long it will be before she has the operation?
MamaJ, good for you. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. You deserve to have a nice home. I won't butt my big nose in where it doesn't belong because I don't know the history of your family. I do know that it's very difficult sometimes to know just where to draw the line in helping out our adult children. We have one friend who feels very self-righteous that he forced his son to pay for all his advanced education through summer and weekend jobs. He says it was character building for the young fellow to know that he "did it all himself". Another friend thinks the first one is an old cheapskate and that he could have been a bit more supportive of his son. These two fellows are no longer speaking to each other which just proves that when it comes to raising kids, we should all mind our own business. LOL
Ruth, sounds like you're a busy gal. I'm kinda glad I only have two tomato plants to contend with this year. As it is, I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the green beans. One day they're itsy bitsy things and the next they're as big as paddles. I have so much to do around here before I leave for Scotland (less than 2 weeks now), including keeping up with DHs paperwork for our company. I know that's most important to him. I know he wouldn't take the trouble to reheat any food I made in advance for him so I won't bother. The neighbors on either side owe him big time for all the time he's spent helping them renovate their homes and only charged for materials so they can keep him fed.
Well, now I have to do some fly-lady stuff so I'll see you all tomorrow.

Hi all - Hope everyone is ready for a great weekend. Sounds like our weather is going to be great and I'm ready for we. We've had a slight cold spell. I love walking when its cooler, but I like the warmer weather all around.

Have done a good job this week. Lost 4 pounds. I had been at a standstill, so I'm glad to see it is going again. Started some new exercising with dumbbells this week also. Between that three days a week (40 min. each) and walking five days a week between 1.5-2 miles I really feel like I'm accomplishing something. Three years ago, before my bypass, I couldn't walk one block....

About time for my dh to roll in and want supper, so need to get going - just wanted to say hi to everyone - can't be on in the morning due to routine and work, so hopefully this will be a good time. Talk with everyone later.... Linda

Default I'm sorry chicks ~~

for my earlier post.

My DH is a wonderful hard working man. Between us we have 7 kids ranging from 15 to 32. My 32 yr old is worthless, will not work BUT doesn't ask us for money, my 30 yr old DS works and has asked to borrow $150 in 9 yrs, his 30 yr old we've bought 2 cars for and give monthly "allowances" to, my 29 yr old NEVER asks tho she has 4 kids, but we did put in her a/c last year as they didn't have the money, his 21 yr old w/baby we've supported for 3 yrs, they've lived for free, bought them 2.5 vehicles on and on....my 17.5 yr old, well, has been in some trouble but a good kid (stupid kid stuff), 15 yr old a moms dream come true. DH thinks I'm wrong for getting tired of going without because there is never a "NO" word in the vocabulary for his sons. I am not a selfish woman AT ALL! But, as I said in my earlier post, they live better than we do yet we pay for it. I guess I'm just tired. I feel like we're going to be supporting them for the rest of our life. I know that the 21 yr old SDS is trying, it's his wife that is even more spoiled. Okay, here I go again. I'm shutting up again! It really has been a trying day with more issues over DS! I'm just emotionally tired.

Ruth~~Am I on your Christmas list? Remember my weakness~~chips & salsa! Yummy!

Jenny~~Hope your meeting sped by quickly for you! I'm so glad you now have home "connection". I'll be looking for you this weekend!

Pooky~~Happy Anniversary!! HUGE CONGRATS on the weight loss! cha-ching! maybe a new baby thread? lol

Peach~~Wow! Two days of walking! WTG goilfriend! Give my love to Jif. How's the stenciling going?

Linda~~WooHoo!! 3.6 lbs gone forever!!! So proud of yu!!! Linda, you can talk openly to me anytime! I'm the queen of paranoia over saying the wrong thing but not as easily offended! I appreciate others point of views! It may help me take a different perspective on my own!

Hope that EVERYONE will offer their support on our "Appreciation" to the 3fc Hens. These women have done so much for us and brought us all together. It makes me feel so sad that they've done so much for us but have been the subject of unjustified ridicule!

I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe and OP weekend!

Please forgive me for being so stressed today...it's not my normal, but we all have those days occasionally.....especially if you have multiple families or TEENAGERS!!

Luv y'all!!
