Thumbs down Daily Monday August 6th

Good Hot Morning everyone!

Hope you are all beating the heat this morning by staying inside during the hot times and enjoying the cool morning air. I love the mornings here, my glories are all out in bloom--next year I'm going to put them in pots and have them grow up my trellis. Right now they are in hanging baskets by my front door!

Also, happy civic holiday to all Canadians--don't know if my American friends have a holiday today, but we sure do--sigh...alas, it is a work filled day for me! Laundry calls my name (actually lack of towels) and then there's sanding out the rough spots in my my wee one's room--can it be that it is so close to painting time???

Have been so good Op lately, I know I have definitely lost inches I can feel it around my mid section and some shorts I usually wear have mysteriously gotten a lot looser--so nice to have that comfortable feeling again!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning Pooky and all to follow.

It's supposed to be a Holiday here too - Sir John By Day in these parts but I've been up and at it since 5:30. Wonderful Gail comes in a few minutes to clean and I did a whirlwind FlyLady as well as finished Mount Laundry. Thanks Gid for AC.

We were planning to drive to Ottawa this a.m. but had a long chat with my DIL yesterday. They are really suffering from the heat and pretty strung out. Don't want to be there when Tayler is fussy! I am considering buying DS and DIL an AC - if I can find one after this hot spell.

I am kicking my own butt this week and trying to get right back on program. Checked last year's diary and weighed the same yesterday as on the same day in 2000. I am determined to get to ONEderland by Oct 1. So yell at me, OK?

Have a lovely day and do try to stay cool. I may sit in the wading pool with Hershey this afternoon. She just lounges there like some sort of whale!

Morning Everyone!!! I am SOOOO tired of this dang heat!!! It is supposed to be amazing hot again this whole week with heat indexes up in the 100's. The reason this is REALLY freaking me out is that my 15 year old son starts 2 a day practices for football in this stupid heat and his coach is a young go-getter macho type guy who really pushes. All I can think about are those 2 football players that died during practice this last week. I know, I know, calm down, but you see I didn't even want him to play in the first place, but since he was so stinking good last year at QB and defensive safety the coach has been practically stalking him since then!!! Okay, I've got that rant out of the way, sorry about that! I am major PMSing this week any way with the moods and the bloating, so I am NOT a good influence here today. Definitely back from vacation--housework, laundry and I REALLY need to start thinking about getting some stuff ready for school. My son starts the 20th and I start 2 days later.

Ruth, tell Hershey to move over that wading pool sounds really good to me!!!!

Pooky, isn't that a great feeling when the clothes are loose!!!!!

Hello to all who follow-----

Hi,

Hot here in Houston, too but you'd never know it from the temp inside my office. I wear a cardigan all day and I'm still cold. Must be all the water I drink.

Had a great weekend with my mom and sister. Went shopping Saturday and bought a pair of pants and jeans (both size 12!!), & a denim jacket in a size small!

Pooky - Isn't it great when your clothes are loose?

Annie - I'm sure your son's coaches are going to be even more aware of the heat in light of the recent tragedies and will take extra precautions to protect the kids.

Ruth - You and Hershey stay cool

Take care everyone.

Jennifer

Default Complaints, complaints!

You'd complain even more if you had temps in the mid teens (about the 60s in fahrenheit) with nearly constant rain. Imagine having your kiddies stuck indoors all day or having to bundle them up in sweaters and rain gear to go to the park. That's the kind of summer we've been having with only a couple of days in the past few months I'd consider uncomfortably hot.
We've had guests from Germany visiting and right now they're camping on Vancouver Island hoping the weather will lift. They're young and full of adventure but I sure wouldn't want to be in a tent in this miserable weather.
As for staying OP, I sulked all weekend from my 2 lb. gain at my Friday WW weigh-in and ate a few too many points but am back on track today. Went for my morning swimming workout and am feeling quite pooped from it.
Nice to run into Ruth online for a little chat. We've decided that if she grew a few inches and if I could grow a bosom, we could exchange clothes....unfortunately neither event is likely to happen.

Sorry to be such a downer with my post today, I will try to be less whiny. Not fair to subject all of you to my bad mood.

Jennifer, thanks for you kind words, much appreciated.

LindaBC, sorry you had bad news at your weigh in, I bet with getting back into the pool today you will lose it by Friday.

Have a good evening everyone.

Default Hey! I gotta complaint!!!

Do you know what my little guy called me today????? go ahead...guess!

nope, try again.....

he called me an UGLY BUCKET!!!!! NOW! I have been called ALOT of things in my life...and most of them I probably deserved but an UGLY BUCKET?????
Don't that just beat all!!!

Hey AdoAnnie...I would worry too, but remember that your son is most likely in great shape and his coaches are most likely super cautious at this point...tell your son to drink GALLONS of water, Tell him I said so and that if he doesn't this old pit who doesn't need anymore protective padding will tackle him, put him in a headlock until he yells uncle! (I assume of course that you raised a good boy and he won't fight me back!)

Gotta run...this old ugly bucket has work to do!

HI all,

Sounds like the heat is in all our locations.

The 5 day forcast shows no relief for days. Trying to keep cool as everyone else is.

I do hope that those deaths have put a light on what should be common sense. In this heat. The body doesn;t care how tough you are it has it's limits.

Op after some poor food choices on sat.

Stay cool everyone

Pat

Hey Peach, no way are you an "ugly bucket"!!!! These boys really know how to hit where you live don't they? I had my DS drink so much water today the poor kid probably will need a "Depends" to wear to practice!!! You can put him in a headlock, he won't fight, he's pretty much a kitty cat! Thanks so much!! Hey don't forget Brookfield OR where is it in WI you go??

Pat, Amen to what you said! Also, Saturdays are notorious for bad food choices at my house!! Glad you are back on board.

Goodnight everyone!
