Default The Weekend Daily - Sept 8 & 9

Good Saturday Morning everyone.

Walked down to the lake early this a.m. and got absolutely soaked! Someone in Heaven turned on the tap. Luckily it was warm water. I'm in dry clothes but the Little Mother is still in wet fur.

Have a Wardens' meeting at 8:30 this morning. I'm the one that set the time so I'd better be there. We used to meet at 10 but that kind of screwed up the whole morning. Now we are done by 10 or so and there is still some morning left.

It's gonna be a hot and muggy day now that the rain has stopped. I think I'll just take it easy - maybe some laundry and a BBQ supper.

What's on your agenda?

Angry Good Wonderful Morning!

It's a new day! And I'm Blessed to be a part of it!

Ruth~Have a wonderful relaxing day. You stay so busy you deserve it!

Thanks for your warm comments regarding my whining yesterday. Guess I just needed to get it out of my system so I can go on dealing with it! But at least that mood got DH's butt in gear on finishing our house! What's the old saying.."When mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" !!

We celebrated Michael's birthday last night. We had a patio full of boys ranging from 15-18 eating crabs and frying fish! Kassidy, 3 yr old granddaughter, was dancing her little heart out with her Uncle Michael. Two of the boys spent the night. DH got up around 3:30 this morning, the boys were crashed out all over the den with the television on. When DH went towards the TV to turn it off he was a bit shocked! A darn sex movie on!
Hormones!!!

The painters will be here this morning, so, I'll be sticking close to the house. Cleaning up crab shells and Mt. Laundry. I'll be push mowing the yard for my excercise today. That counts, right?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Saturday afternoon already! the day is flying by, and I have done VERY little! I ran the vacuum around, and other quick chores, but then DH wanted to go to the cycle store for parts for his bike. He is doing a big ride tomorrow (the NY Century) and is getting ready. It requires a lot of wifely support and good humor!

Spent some time looking around a book store, then home for a little computer time.

Grilling burgers for dinner, nothing else here. I guess I'll have to get to the store tonight or in the morning. Frozen veggies only! I'd better get hoppin!

Nice to see all the recommited chicks, with the pounds just dropping off ! (Peach thinks it's funny when I use the word "committed" as I work in a Psych Hospital!) There's your chuckle for the day, PP.

My scale is stuck, too. Hmmm, I would like to blame something, but I think it's the Raisinet's I had during the movie last night!

water and meat for the rest of the day. Some string beans in vinegrette too.

Have a good saturday!

Good afternoon everyone!

I have been painting, painting, painting all morning and early afternoon. I want to finish that room! i tell you, I thought, no problem a couple of weeks and it's done--it's turned into a 2 month odyssey! My neighbour and her daughter were her helping me out with the finishing touches, drawing in lines, going over some spots that were missed and adding in the small details that will make it fabulous! Soon, my friends, soon, the pictures will be here!

Getting ready right now to go to the casino with my hubby and lose some money Hopefully i will come home with something, I'm not expecting a huge jackpot or anything but hey, a couple of dollars in the pocket won't hurt, know what I mean? We didn't have lunch today in preparation for the buffet dinner, we are going to eat and eat and eat.

My dh is very happy once again, he has lost 6 pounds total now and I am still at 4--go figure. I don't expect to lose weight the same as him but I'm jealous!

I see everyone else is busy as a bee this weekend, have a good one chickies!

An absolutely gorgeous Saturday just fading away to twilight as I write this. With hubby away I've been very lazy but he'll be home late tonight so I thought I'd do some vacuuming and dusting and throwing out of general clutter. Also had two aunts and an uncle coming for a visit this afternoon so wanted to spruce the place up a bit. They're all in their 80s and this will be their last visit for a while I guess. Uncle doesn't like to drive in the winter and we're about an hour's drive from them. They pick up my ancient single auntie from her seniors home and man, every time I see her (usually every 2 months or so) I notice a decline in her hearing and her physical ability. She walks so slow I think some of my garden slugs could beat her in a race. Poor thing barely hears a word we say but she's full of chatter about all the petty little spats at the seniors' home and who stole who's seat in the dining room, etc. That's her world now. I took them out to dinner at our local Chinese smorg place knowing full well that I'd OD on carbs. Why don't I just add up the WW points for a cup of sugar and call it a day? Luckily I'd saved up points for the last few days and had eaten lightly for breakfast and lunch today so I'm hoping not too much damage was done. Don't weigh in until Fri. so I've time to repent and recommit.
Feeling so good about my 16 lb lost but nobody else even notices it. Probably a good thing though, or I'd be resting on my laurels thinking I'd lost enough. LOL LOL Sure a 5'4" 284 lb woman looks just fine.
That's all for today, Chickies. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Yesterday was so darn close and humid I did nothing but did not enjoy it! My DH said I was pouty! Imagine that at 62!

Anyhow, just took a lovely long bath and realized I'm too late to make it to Church. Another hot day coming up so I will attempt to loaf around without pouting or being "kwabby" as my kids used to say - and still do. I may do the odd little job to keep my hand in - I might seize up if I stop completely!

So ... come and relax with me - Crystal Lite and coffee and Diet Gingerale will be served on the back deck shortly. (And we do have excellent cold well water too!)

Oh, Ruth, I'm there!

It is muggy here today, too. I am just puttering around and considering turning on the A/C just to cut the humidity so I can get some work done. But a day on the "veranda" with some diet ginger ale and some friends sounds lovely.

I am fighting this dieting so hard lately- I just don't want to stay OP longer than a day or so, then I have a miss. Ususally, it's not more than you might consume in a CALP reward meal, but I know it's not as well controlled. Again, I can manage to not gain, but I don't stay OP well enough to loose. Well, today's another day. I was OK yesterday, and did alot of housework too, so that's something.

I have the day to myself today- DH is off doing a long bike ride, and won't be back til later this afternoon. I am finishing up some chores this morning and then am going to lay on the couch or in the yard if it's nice enough, and read, read, read! I don't know what yet, just something for fun.

Have a good one, chicks-

Oh Ruth, I would love some cold well water.....!!

I just made some ice tea for my day. it has been a gorgeous moring but appears to be heading for a HOT day here in TN. The fair is going on so we will be taking the kids one night this week. DH just finished pulling the kids in the wagon with the tractor..tht will be their excitement for the day, we may take a swim later, pool days are probably going to be numbered here soon.

Got on the scale this morning and was quite disapointed to see that I have not lost one pound this week. First week fo this woe and woe is me no loss to report. I do feel better and my shorts are looser so I will not despair yet!!!

Hope everyone has a spectacular and uneventful Sunday!!!

Scooby did you measure??/ many times you will lose fat and gain muscle just eating this woe. so that is good.do not dispair. and many times in a earlier thread i mentioned the fact that just begining the woe your body will try to hold the water in responce to the weight loss so drink and drink. You are doing great. especially since the shorts are looser. (muscle is 5 times heavier than fat)

Ddottie your day planned sounds great. I would love to do that. I am going to take the boys and 1 girl to the y for free swim. mmm that sounds nice and cool!!! and as far as staying OP i think it is the time of the year our bodies are fighting to put on weight as it is starting to gett colder, this is one of the toughest times for us women hang in there and keep the resolve.

Ruth I agree it is too hot and muggy to do anything. I am getting to be a bit kwabby too.

Linda your auntie sounds like a sweety, just the kind that i get a huge kick out of, and just think you are really making her day. and for her it is worth eating a bit offplan. there are times to go off, thie is a wol and we need to realize that there will be times that we need to go off and just be prepared for it. then get back on the wagon when it is over, the sooner you are back on the easier it is to get on. You will do great. especially with the 16 lbs gone, And I DID notice the weight off. is shows!!! (your typing is lighter )

have great plans for cleaning for today but was working early then had to go to the store for dh then hit the gym then the grocerystore, and now time to get the kids to the swimming so my plans are shot!!!

Hope everybodys day goes great!!

Hi Chicks,
I'm freezing! I'm sitting here at the old 'puter wrapped in blankets, wishing I could type with gloves on! I'm so jealous of you ladies and your hot weather. I'm not ready for this yet. It froze last night and I'm hoping my tomatoes and basil were saved!

Not much to say, but I'm still OP, plugging away. No big losses yet, but it'll happen, right? I certainly feel better though, so it's worth it.

I am helping DH finish building a barn today, so maybe that'll warm me up. Does that sound like fun or what?

MamaJ - I can't imagine the guys falling asleep during a sex movie! My son would die of embarassment if I found him watching one. Are we having fun yet, raising teenage boys? It's always an adventure, to say the least. And now, my sixth grade daughter is wanting to wear makeup. I don't think so!

Well, off to the barn and to start a turkey for dinner. I found one in the freezer from last winter. I think it's about time to cook that baby, don't you?

Talk to you all later,
Miss Chickadee

Feeling sooooo sorry for u folks who are either sweltering or freezing. We're having a spell of the most wonderful late summer weather. Temps in low 70s with a playful breeze. I worked for nearly 4 hours in my garden this morning. Planted some new clematis that I just couldn't resist and cleaned up a couple of flower beds while I was at it. Amazingly enough, I was able to work full tilt all that time with just a couple of breaks for bathroom and water. That is so marvelous for me after huffing and puffing my way around this garden and having to stop every few minutes for a long rest.
While I'm celebrating the small victories, I just want to pass along another minor triumph that may seem silly to those of you who can still reach your toes. This morning I tied my shoes by myself for the first time in two years. YIPPEEEE. I've been plodding around in the garden without them tied because I was too embarrassed to ask DH to tie them for me. Then, when I came back in the house after gardening and was washing my feet, I was able to clip my own toenails. TaDAAAA!! As I said, this may seem trivial to anyone who just has a few pounds to lose, but when you've weighed 300 lb, and suffered all kinds of discomforts and inconveniences (I won't go into details of some of them) any little victory is a cause for great jubilation.
Getting lots of water into me in the hopes of flushing out all those Chinese carbs I ate yesterday. I went to that restaurant with every good intention of just having veggies and some chicken but then I saw my favorites, Sesame Chicken and Ginger Beef (both saturated with sugar I'm sure) and couldn't resist. I'm hoping all my gardening this morning will also help offset any damage I may have done.
Sue, if you met my aunts you'd laugh yourself sick. The deaf one is the survivor of twins who never married but lived all their lives together until the deceased one had to move into extended care. She's deaf as a post and has always been cross-eyed. She has a floppy lower lip and drools constantly (sounds attractive doesn't it?) Just because she can't hear us doesn't mean that she doesn't take part in conversations. She totally RULES conversations. Nobody else has a chance. My other aunt, the married one, is the long-suffering last remaining sibling and has a heart of gold. Not only did she suffer a cranky, demanding mother-in-law living with her for many years, but now she has to worry about her sister. Well, she's always worried about her sister. Sorry, to jabber on so long. This is my family and I love them and I know I'll miss them all like crazy when the inevitable happens.
Talk to you tomorrow.

What wonderful success. I know how hard it was to tie my shoes at my heaviest. so i can enjoy your success. whoooo hoooo. small things make the pleasure so sweet. and well the chicken was not to bad asl ont as you did not slurp down the coating I get like that with KFC and eat all the coating even if i remove it first.
