Hi,
We've had night after night of tornado's and hail. Saturday night, there were 30 tornado's spotted in Iowa. Sunday, more bad weather, more baseball sized hail. Last night, again more tornado's and seems like every time, they are headed towards us. Thank God, they disapate before they reach our town. We are trying to camp through all this, but we are home more than we are out there. The next 3 days are suppose to be clear, cool and no storms, so we will be camping finally. Today, DH is cleaning out the gutters on the house as they are full of little maple tree whirly seeds (little trees are starting to grow up there )and the water is just washing over the tops of them and draining into the basement. I feel for you Anne, it's the pits.
On a better note, my gardens are doing great. I've picked 3 large bowls of strawberries so far and have to go out this morning and pick more. There are lots of green tomatoes on the vines and the green beans have all come up. The yard looks great.
I've been gaining weight again. I haven't been exercising and I'm eating the wrong foods. I can't even say I'm enjoying the bad food either. Well, strawberries with ice cream is pretty good .

Anne, good luck today. Hope things go better than you can imagine.

Aleka, how's the weather in Florida? I know that it gets the most lightening out of all the states. I hate lightening and it was pretty wicked here yesterday.

Lynn, are you having any flooding? We are having flooding down here. Fortunately, our house is on a hill, so even when we had that 500 year flood in '93, we were ok.

I better get moving, have a lot to do before I can go out to the camper, take care, Nikki

Goodmorning All: Yes the long weekend from ****. Everything is underwater and they have had to close the trent water system which Rice lake is part of, but thank god we are ok. Anne I heard that your weather was awful in the GTA area. I don't remember a weekend like this ever!!!!! I just had to put the lights on as it has gotten so dark I guess we are in for another storm. DH is on the golf coarse so doubt sloshing around in water to his ankles. Nikki they actually showed Iowa on one of the news shows up here and the hail, so I have been thinking of you all weekend. Glad you are ok. Mya doesn't like thunder storms so I guess it is safe to say why a wonderful dog like her was dumped. I will never figure out why if the dog doesn't work out hunting why they can't be taken to a shelter instead of deserted. Well I must go and walk Mya before the storm hits. If this keeps up we are out of here till the weather improves. Later

Good Morning All:
Nikki!! 30 tornados!!! How scary is that!! I hate thunder and lightening.
I am always afraid a tree will fall through the window.
Talking about weight, I am back up to about 220 I am so
disgusted with myself. I am good all week then bad as **** on the weekends.
My knee is killing me, my back is killing me, maybe these ol' joints are trying
to tell me something eh

Hi Lynn, one a bright note, its not suppose to rain today

I got a call from David's teacher yesterday. He put his fist through the
school window for the second time this year. I wish they would get moving
with the plexi glass they were going to have installed. Problem is David is
attracted to glass. He also bangs the washing machine, freezer, just about
anything that makes a noise. He had a few minor lacerations but I am terrified he will really get hurt one of these days. Always something

Well, I still haven't seen She will likely make her way over here in the
next day or two though. One of my friends that works across the road with
Sylvia said nothing has changed same old same old.

Have a great day.

Hi Aleka!!! Hope all is well with you.

Anne.

Goodmorning All: Anne, NEVER beleive the weather forecaster's it is raining as I type. IT is supposed to clear up this afternoon. It is a good thing I have lots to amuse myself with, if it wasn't for the dog I would have been in here for 5 days straight. My annual plants are in the shed, I am afraid to plant because of all the moisture in the ground, I wouldn't want to get root rot. The Liberal's have promised a lot more money for education Anne, so hopfully David's school will see some of it. I don't beleive it, the sun is out!!!!!! so must get outside while it is out. Hi Aleka, hope the house hunting is going good. Nikki, hope the weather has let you enjoy your camping. You must camp close to home do you? When I was a teenager our cottage was 15 minutes from the house. My brother and I loved that because step-father moved out in May and didn't come back to the house until Thanksgiving. We never had to see him on weekends. Have a great day all

HI
Just have 2 seconds to post. This vacation is not at all relaxing, it's go every second and I'm going to be glad when it's over
They totaled the official sitings of the tornado's over the past weekend and it was 39. That one day when 30 were sited, was unofficial, but I'm sure there were more than 39 all together. Again, we were lucky and no damage. The flooding is starting to recede.
I'm picking strawberries like a mad woman and trying to clean and freeze them daily. They are the easiest thing in the world to grow. I have mine planted in very heavy clay, they get practically no sun and they are producing like crazy.
Got to run, take care, Nikki
