After yesterday's blizzard, today is sunny and balmy! It is going to go up to 39F! I'm glad I remembered my Mitchum!

Geez, mushroom cheese omelet! Why didn't I think of that? I hate to admit it but I had some fresh pineapple which is off the scale for any kind of low carb diet but it sure was delicious! The Girls ate the core with great delight. I need to get back to pure and strict Phase I of the South Beach or else get onto Atkins again as my weight has plateaued at 202 for two weeks now! Grrrrr!

Hershey and I are off to her job at noon and then her treadmill session. I have an osso bucco bubbling away for an early dinner tonight as I have a Communities in Bloom meeting tonight. I'll breathe garlic on them and the meeting should end early!

Welcome, Skyttles. You sound enthused and on track. Cought on me please so I can catch it!

Good morning everyone

Ruth, I hated the freak snow storm too and yep true to form it's meting away as fast as it came. Heard on the news it's supposed to be 12C by tomorrow and Friday.

Sono, way to go on your raise! Feels good to get more money, eh?

Ok, so I'm on day 2 of the gym thing and I sweat like a stuck pig today. I found out I cannot do the elliptical machine, it's too hard for me right now and I feel out of breath in like 3 minutes. Everything else was just ducky

Eating, well, I slipped up in the carbs yesterday with some tortellinis I had. But for the amount of running around I do I hope it is just going to come burning off.

Have a good one everyone

Default Low Carb Hash Browns!!!

I got this recipe from another thread and although I haven't tried it yet myself, I'm very intrigued. Everyone in that forum who had tried it simply raved about it.
The recipe has no measurements but it's pretty simple. Instead of potatoes you use RADISHES. Yep, those little red peppery globes you buy in the produce dept (or grow yourself). The instructions say to chop or grate them (leaving the skins on). Season and fry them in butter or bacon fat for about 20 minutes. Don't stir too often. You want them well done and the skins crispy. You can add chopped bacon and onion but don't add them at the beginning as they will get burned waiting for the radishes to cook through. Everyone says they are the next best thing to real hash brown potatoes and even kids are fooled. Don't be put off by the pink color. Just pretend you are using redskin potatoes. LOL

Unhappy

Such a bad day. I can't believe I let myself do this. I had half a biquit at lunch and then half a piece of coffee cake at work today. Now I feel so horrible. I am so made at myself. Arghhhhhhh!!!!!! It will show on the scale on friday I am sure. I have screwed myself over for this week.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Skyttles, that is a sure way down the road to throwing in the towel. We are human, we make mistakes. We learn from them and move on. Tomorrow is another day. Another oppertunity to try again - another chance on your road to sucess. Believe me, we have all been there and feeling sorry for ourselves, and MAD, actually does more harm than the actual slip. Learn from your fall: That little bitty bit of 1/2 a bisquit awakened that carb monster that you were keeping at bay by cutting out the carbs. That is what happened - now you know how you react and what will happen again.

You can do this! Every day is a bright and shiney new day - USE it!

Oh, I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! I cannot stay I've gotta go! I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!

I'm going to try to get to work somewhat (HA!) early today since I'm only going to be there for a couple hours, then home to take dogs to kennel, pack, pick kids up from school early, make them pack, then we are off to take the train to SF for the weekend.

My kids have a full week of school next week then they are off for easter break. Funny that other schools have changed around the spring break so much - Its been the week before Easter here since I was a little girl!

Gotta run - you all have a wonderful weekend and I will check in on Sunday when we get back.

I could have sworn I posted yesterday but it was a busy day so maybe I didn't.

I am glad to see the end of this hectic week and am looking forward to a warmer weekend - highs of 50 or more are predicted! If it doesn't rain, I'll get started on flower bed cleanup and maybe a times stint at poop pick-up. Damned dogs! I wish they had colostomies so I could just change the bags! JUST KIDDING! Don't call the SPCA! If I got that change for them, maybe I could also get screw-off feet as it sure is mud city out there!

I hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend like MrsSpotdog has!

Well, I wish I was going to San Francisco but the last time I was there in August 1984 I darn near froze to death. Gosh, what a cold town! Still, I wouldn't mind visiting it again some day. I remember we had to pay twice to cross the Golden Gate Bridge because when we got to the S.F. side, we made a wrong turn and wound up going back over it the other way so had to try it again. LOL We followed the scenic route signs and really enjoyed our day there. Fisherman's Wharf was a big disappointment though.

Today is a baking day for me. I have bread and cinnamon buns on the go, and NO, I will not be eating any of them myself. Promise!

I braved the metal monster this morning and this was the result. Obviously, I've been enjoying myself far too much. Well, no more. Time to get serious again. I'm still experimenting with the BioChemical Machine food combining but I guess I've been combining too many allowed goodies. The birthday cake I had at a friend's yesterday didn't help matters either. (NOT allowed btw).

Anyway - we are in the process of a move from Tennessee to North Carolina...it is a good thing as we are moving to a great town with good schools etc, but moving is such a pain in the BUTTTTT

Our house has not sold in TN so we now own 2 houses, just a little stressful...but why am I back you ask - well I feel crappy, weigh more than I ever have in my life and need to get motivated....so I hope I can jump back in!!

Welcome back, Scooby. Yes, owning two houses would be stressful! I assume the old one is up for sale but not sold yet?

It's raining this morning so I can't work outside. However, tomorrow looks good ....except I have Church in the a.m. and the Annual Meeting of TheraPaws in the afternoon. Alas! oh well, we are going to get Spring after all so I'll try for patience.

I have a huge mess of ground veggies, meat and bones sitting on my kitchen counter waiting to be packaged for doggie dinners so I'm outta here!

Morning Scooby, Ruth and all to come,
My Inlaws live near southport NC, not too far from the beach, it is pretty there and the weather is a lot better than it is in the north east...they are well into the 70's now. I hope your house sells soon, the stress is unbelievble sometimes. I wish I had been taught stress management earlier in life, maybe my my weight wouldn't be an issue.....

The kids have been to karate to help out in the tigers test, that is the really little kids, really cute. The neighbors are coming out of the house to take a look outside and I saw 3 of them this morning alone....

DH has gone to run a errand in NH this morning and then the door to the coop will be open and I am free for the day! WOO HOOO

The sun is thinking about coming out, we are going to be in the 60's and the yard looks like he** but I don't care!

Kids are back to school Tuesday, I wish it were tomorrow!

OK off to run a load of laundry....happy weekend chickies!
