Rise and shine! Why the heck I need to wake up at 4 AM on the last day of a holiday weekend is one of life's great mysteries! The coffee is ready but it's too darn dark out there on the deck so we'll sit in the cozy kitchen and pet the doggage.
Well, I put in over 10,000 steps yesterday and the Girls were with me for most of it. (I think I am addicted to my pedometer.) It was a gorgeous sunny day but just a tad cool. I guess it may be time to wear something besides a short sleeved T-shirt with my pants. Alas!
With all the walking (and visiting on the way), I did not get my salsa made yesterday so that's this morning's project. However, I think I'll just sip coffee first and wait for the sunrise.
I hope everyone is sleeping in and has a fun day planned.
hi there everyone!!!! and i've never in my life heard of putting breadcrumbs in tuna salad!!! don't blame you a bit for never setting foot in that restaurant again!
and good morning everyone. mom's finally ready to go out to breakfast, so i'll have to finish this later.

ok. so we're back. breakfast was nice, but it's ALWAYS better when someone else cooks! except for that restaurant tummy went to.
just getting over my second round of bronchitis in 6 weeks. the doc put me on three weeks of antibiotics so that i get rid of it completely. so i actually didn't do any exercise for a little more than a week, trying to get more rest. started hiking again friday, and then saturday. and then yesterday for weights at the gym, and then a two-hour hike with the dog. And today: all i want to do is SIT AROUND AND KNIT!!! i'm tired!!! and so is the dog. she had to chase deer, and get lost, and race around and swim in the stream. she's not moving much this morning.
finished the sleeveless shell i'd been working on, and it's really pretty. but it's too big already! NO. it's not because i screwed up the gauge. i'm still shrinking and i lost another 8 pounds in the past 3 weeks. maybe i should stop making things for myself right now. i'm sure i could manage something for peachie's boys. but they're growing like little [well, TALL] weeds...
work is better since that awful boss left. and the french chef hasn't called, even though he has my work number., c'est la vie
but we did have dinner there last night and it was wonderful, as always.
glad everyone around here is doing well.. and ruth is way too busy as alwaysl
I will be laboring with peaches this morning. We've had this little peach tree and usually get 10-15 good peaches each year. (it was small with not a lot of leave coverage so the birds got to lots of the fruit) But this year we have got a bumper crop! Melis and I went out last evening and picked nearly everything so my kitchen counter is covered with them this morning. I cleaned, cut, measured, flash froze and bagged some last night. Today I will pick out the prettiest fruits and prepare some bags for the neighbors to enjoy friesh then freeze the rest. Big job!
Nice to see ya, Jiff - hope you kick that bronc. bug this go 'round.
Ruth is too busy but she sure leads and interesting life and I'm glad she shares it with us.
Bread crumbs in tuna salad is a new one on me too. Amazing that they gave a $200 cert., tho. That is a lot of dinners!
I am planning on starting back at Curves on Wednesday after taking the summer off. It will be **** at first but I will push myself and get back into the routine. Then the food situation will follow suit, I bet. Why do one and not the other?
Have a good day all. I will be up to my elbows in peaches for hours - which might be a GOOD thing since then I probably won't want to even LOOK at one for quite a while let alone EAT one!
Happy day ladies!! Been a busy weekend - worked at my consulting job saturday--which involved a 4 hour round trip drive - DH is whining about the miles on my car....went to the lake on our boat with friends yesterday - all got sunburned and had a ball....today is just hanging around the house trying to get it together - so many activities for the kids, we don't seem to have a free night...stop the madness.......

I went to the gym today and they are doing this new thing called the "Wall of Sucess" I have an appt on Wednesday to meet with a personal trainer and have my picture taken and my stats taken. Then he helps me set 30 day fitness goals. After 30 days I meet with him again and we see how I did! I get my picture taken again and all the stats redone. I am really excited as I know that this will keep me motivated to stick OP! THe Best part is that it is FREE!!
Ok.. Gott a run.. but I will catch up and post more later!!
and tummy... thank you for noticing.. and just because you asked, i changed my signature. everyone on this forum has been just the most wonderful, helpful cheering section - everyone needs this kind of support.
sooooo since i am so close [and still really stunned that i can say that!!!!!] i figured we could all watch the countdown!!!
and kel. no brandied peaches???? peachie used to dunk sugar cookies in brandy. a fabulous combination
Hmmmmmm, I might have to go look for that brandy - I seem to recall there is some on a top shelf somewhere in the kitchen. Of course, then I might be compelled to get some sugar cookies....
Wow, Jiff, just wow! When you see those stats in black in white it is just incredible!
tummy - I can't believe what happened to you. I would have been furious, too.
DH and I had the best weekend. Friday right after work, we went to dinner at Ryan's and then went to the lake. Saturday was cool, but pleasant. Sunday the skies opened up and it poured all day and into the night. That turned out to be the best day of all. DH and I sat around and watched movies (something we seldom have time to do), we cuddled (a real treat), and just kicked back and relaxed. That evening we had our friends over for a buffalo burger and buffalo hot dog cook out. My friend is on Atkins as well, so she brought deviled eggs and I cooked fresh green beans. It was great! After that we played cards (phase 10 and spades) until about 1:00 in the morning. It was a blast. I was OP all weekend and will find out tomorrow if I've lost anything this week.
Alas, the weekend is drawing to a close and I must go in to school for a few minutes and get ahead on some work. Have a good evening, all.
to tell you the truth, i've been just staring at these numbers in shock, myself!!!! i NEVER thought i'd get to this point. and at the beginning, i didn't dare to think that it was possible.
so i just took it day by day, and did what i had to do. and time passed. and LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!
and i actually have only 15 more pounds until i get started on the plastic surgery insurance approval. i figured it'd take awhile to get everything all lined up and scheduled. i'm STUNNED!!!! almost SPEECHLESS!!!! [only almost...]
