Angry The Click - TGIF Friday, June 13

Friday the Thirteenth! Oh dear! Luckily I'm not superstitious.

Another rainy day apparently so Pooky and I can sulk about no gardening. I have a bit of sewing to do - hemming pants - and then will be all set with my summer wardrobe ready. I would love to have another closet and save all the fuss. Maybe another house would be best - one decorated for winter with the woodstove and deep rich colours and the summer house with sheer curtains blowing in the breeze and pastel chintz or toile furniture! Dream on!

I got lots done yesterday and stuck right on program for the day. I do have a headache this morning but that's probably low blood sugar so I'm off to have a breakfast - maybe eggs for a change?

Have a good Friday, Chickies.

Good morning Ruth.
Rain here today too. Going to do a girlie day again today while little man goes to the putt and pinball with his friends.
The sleepover last night was fun. I was very suprised that the boy who slept over is simmiler in personality to my older boy. maybe that is why little man likes this other boy so much.

Well I ended up in mediation with e bay. The mediator thinks it is the sellers fault and is asking to have the seller refund my money. part of the agreement is for me to not interfear with her sales. Humm I could agree to that...I never really thought about interfearing but it is a thought if she rejects it....I have a lot of pent up frustration over dad and his lovley bride that this could be a good outlet....Just kidding!!!!

Thank you all for your kind words yesterday. I still don't know what I am going to do, but it is nice to know that I have friends who will listen, ( a big (((((hug)))) to KFS who has gotten a BIG earful about all of this and been and outstanding listener).

have to run, the boys just got up and i need a shower before I can go shop with the girls.

Morning All,

Too lazy to make coffee this morning so I'll filch some of Ruth's

Gotta have a big breakfast so I can be good while I'm out with the girls today. I think we are having Indian food - yum!! I'm printing out the Atkins guide to Indian stuff - I love chicken korma so I guess this is a fair trade-off for not being able to have the scrumptuous breads

L - my pleasure, that's what friends are for. You've listened to me plenty of times

Ok, DS is waiting for me to get stuff together for his ice cream social at school today (they're also doing PJ day - he is psyched).

Later Girls,

Good Morning Everyone

amhlawyer........will you ever have a relaxing evening away from the kids when you have this young girl babysitting? Not very likely! She has blown your trust, pls dont be so quick to call her again to sit for you. Your babies are too precious!!

Ok, Im really getting tired of all the rain. I hope this isnt going to be a dreary summer. I need sunshine!!!!! and LOTS of it!!!! I still have a flat of impatients sitting on my garden bench in the back yard. Since its full shade back there, it could be 2 or 3 days for it dry up enough for me to plant. We havent had 2 or 3 days straight of no rain since I planted my petunias!

Has anyone else noticed how their blood pressure goes up, and their heart beats hard in their chest when they eat too much sugar??? Mine does. Keeps me awake til ungodly hours too. I was up til 3 this morning, and worrying about my bp. So.........with that scare, Im back op.

This morning we are off to see hubby's grandkids graduate from s.k. Should be interesting! From what we are being told, alot of parents arent going to be able to come, and they asked that everyone coming, to invite as many ppl as possible to help fill up chairs in the audience.

Thats about it in my small corner of the world

Good Morning everyone!

It is sort of clouded over Ruth, but I really do have to yank out that lawnmower to do the front yard. Dh has already payed with our new toy last weekend so it's my turn today. Our old lawnmower would continually get jammed and the last straw was when it started leaking oil all over the place--eeks! So now we have a 3 in one, mulcher, bagger, cutter--oooh I can hardly wait!

Adrienne, I read your post yesterday and I'm just beside myself. I know that you aren't seriously considering keeping her on, after all she is someone paid by you to do a job and she hasn't done it, in fact, she has endangered your children by her thoughtless behaviour! As for telling her mother, I would tell her immediately. It is bad enough she has let you down, but I can only imagine how her mother will feel and she deserves to know. If anything, this girl is screaming for some help and it's up to the adults to listen. ((HUGS)) on what is going to be a difficult day...

L and KFS, always nice to have friends to give good ear

Hope you all have a great day

Here's a picture of Miree's class--she's the little one with arms crossed in front of her wearing the purple shirt.

Happy Friday the 13th Everyone!!

Actually I hadn't realized it was the 13th til I saw the the date here on the board. I have to admit there is a bit of the superstitious in me.
It is a gray cloudy day here again too. I am beginning to think we will never see the sun. They are forecasting a sunny nice weekend here, but frankly I will believe it when I see it! We are having people over for dinner tomorrow night and I am counting on grilling out and sitting on our deck and drinking wine--sure hope that they are right for a change.
Lots of errand running down in the "Big City" today. DS is going with me so that we can get my husband his Father's Day gift. Then some major grocery shopping to restock my emptied out refrigerator. I think that we are going to try and sneak in a movie too. There are several good ones out there for a change.
Still haven't gotten in the exercise groove yet, but I at least have the videos OUT now. That is a small step in the right direction I guess.

Linda, Congrats on the grandbaby on the way!! Are you going to plan a trip over there when the big day comes?

Kim, that Space Camp sounds like a lot of fun.

Ruth and Pooky, I will think "sunny thoughts" for your weather forecast!!

Adrienne, as a mother of a 16 year old boy, as much as I wouldn't want to know that my son had done something like that I really would want to know. (Does that make sense) The mom needs to be able to deal with it. Even if the girl gets in trouble at least the mom has a chance to maybe get to the root of what in the world possessed her daughter to do that. What a terrible night for you and what a mess to be in the middle of. My best to you!

L, glad you survived the sleepover!

Have a good day everyone--and hello to all yet to come!!

Ok - I am sneaking out of lurkdom to give my 2 cents on the drunk babysitter subject.

As a mother of 3 teens (daughter 16 1/2, boys 14 & 13) I would be very upset to find out that another parent kept some important information about my kids' conduct (like this) from me. It well maybe that there is some upsetting discord at the girl's house or that she doesn't live in the best situation BUT it is still a very serious situation (she DID endanger those sweet babies of yours by her neglect - no, nothing happened but it COULD have very easily) and the girl's mother NEEDS to know. Barely anyone lives a 'white picket fence' life but it doesn't mean that they don't have anyone that is loving and concerned about their actions and will handle the situation with respect.

Yes, I remember back when I was a semi-wild teen and made some not-so-smart choices and luckily my guardian angels kept me safe but _I_ was responsible for _my_ actions and faced the music as I should have.

Ok - I will step down now. Adienne - I know you will make the right choices for your children and this girl. But since your babies are young still and you haven't gone into the teen years yet I thought you might want to hear from some parents that have.

Hello to everyone! Nice to 'see' you again, AdoAnnie - love your BonJovi sig!

Kel

Goodness, there are a lot of pop-up ads at this site! Sometimes I have to zap six or seven of them before I can read the posts...and I have a pop-up ad blocker!! These must be extra tough ads.
I 've been so lazy today. It's overcast with scattered showers and something about the gloom makes me so dozy. After Peter left for work about 6:30 I had a lovely bath in my jetted tubby. Then conked out until nearly 10 am. I NEVER sleep that late. I sure enjoyed it though.
AdoAnnie the baby is due in early November and we'd thought about going to Scotland for Christmas, but after checking with travel agent and realizing that they double the price of air fares over the holidays, we've decided to go early in 2004. It won't be easy for me to wait that long, but I think it's important that the new parents and baby have their time alone to bond and get into a routine before interfering Grandma arrives. Also, they are more interesting and responsive when they are two or three months old. I do love those baby smiles and chuckles.

Robin yes, I have definitely noticed a difference in how I feel after I've overindulged in sweets...especially chocolate. The other day I was quite concerned because after eating all those chocolates, I felt like the top of my head was going to burst. I also felt absolutely exhausted for the next couple of days so it's really not worth it. Sometimes the devil makes me do it though and damn the consequences.

It's cool and drizzly here. Yesterday I bought some red Speedwell that is almost in bloom. This is a perennial that's supposed to attract hummingbirds and I'm always looking for more flowers to bring those little hummers around. I have a feeling it's also a bit invasive, although I have some blue Speedwell in my front planters and they haven't gotten out of hand in three years. We will see. If the skies ever clear up, I hope to get out and plant it.
Kel, nice to see you again. Yes, I was a bit crazy in my teens too and did a few things I'm not too proud of now. That babysitter does need to understand how she jeopardized the safety of those children and face the music. It sounds like a cry for help to me, especially hearing that she was lying down drunk on the porch. Was she going to leave those babies all alone? This is really scary.
Adrienne, I'm adding this note after having just read your final post from yesterday. I have to say I think you've shown a lot of insight and compassion toward this girl. I hope she takes your discussion to heart and that working as your "unpaid slave" for a few days will help her realize the consequences of her actions. I also think it was wise of you to insist she tell her counsellor about this incident. Good for you.

Linda, you're getting a lot of pop ups due to spyware that has been loaded onto your comuter--trust me, you didn't put it there but unscrupulous marketers have. There is a few programs out there that remove spyware, I have found one of the best ones to do it. This program checks your system and gives you the option of deleting the spyware. Just so you know, spyware allows marketers and whoever else is interested to monitor your movements on the internet. Simply deleting cookies is not enough in this case, the spyware has been illicitly and secretively dowloaded onto your computer without your knowledge or consent.

Go to this website and download this software for free (!! ) and the utility will scan your systtem and help you remove most of the pop ups. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip, Pooky. I'm trying to dowload it now but it's taking forever. I'm not sure how to work it once it does finish downloading. I'm so clueless about these things. Meanwhile, I just got four more full page ads popping up on my screen, all advertising medications and weight loss formula.
