Wow, I must be early today! It's been a typical week around here, too much to do and no time to do it. Work is he!! and home is peaceful. My dd is having yet MORE pictures made today at school (this is the 4th time this year) they are trying to break us! Other than that, how are you guys doing? Talk to you later.
Morning! Have my coffee in front of my......so good!
Prayers to all those who need them.
Beautiful day here today, sorry Ruth, upper 70's. The garage is calling my name, needs to be cleaned out.
The band is preparing for their Disney World trip. As long as nothing changes between now and Friday we leave, Friday night at 10. I do not want to sleep on a bus but don't have a choice.
Good Morning Deb and Sherrie... you snuck in on me while I went to pour the coffee and bring in the newspaper! Sounds like busy days for you...... hope you find some time to at least enjoy yourselves!
Been busy around here, too..... worked on clients' taxes all day Saturday, and on Sunday we went to dd's for a LARGE family party called a "Simchat Bat" - basically a celebration of the birth of Emma Zoe - so lots of our family was there, as well as sil's family and, of course, their friends...... it was a full and joyful day. (But, it most definitely was NOT OP - I had PLANNED to have a bagel, then much later, on the way home, I "NEEDED" a slice of pizza - can you say "not happy today"??????
Back to crazy work yesterday. Today is gonna be another semi-busy day: more tax returns to do and get out of here (so that I can get paid!!! ) also stuff around the house to start cleaning and getting ready for Passover <sigh> I need/want a vacation!
BTW, I checked the chatroom at around 7ish 3FC time and no one was there..... sorry I missed you guys at 9ish..... was being a slug on the sofa!!
Anyhow, hope everyone has a great day and will check back later..
Good Tuesday Morning! Hi to Sonogranny, Deb and Sherrie. I am up 5ish these days but don't always post right away. My summer routine is snapping into place - coffee and a dog love-up, breakfast and then crank up Harry for the day.
Hey, Deb, 70 is too hot for my northern blood at this time of year. We are going to 50 today and the sun is shining. The snow is melting slowly (no flood so far), the dogs get muddy paws in their yard but have to go through snow to get to the door so no big muddy paw season yet. The birds are collecting stuff for nests. We heard and saw geese yesterday.
After I found my wallet yesterday, I went to Kingston to pick up Harry's altered jacket and did a lovely walk about in the mall. I am getting the urge to shop for spring clothes but need to dig out what I've got first. I'm sure glad I didn't pitch it all last fall thinking it'll be too big by spring! Somehow, I think it'll all fit - dammit!
Today we are going out to lunch with my sister Joan and her husband Peter. We are going to a neighbouring village, not the big city, so I'm not going through my traumatic "what to wear" crisis! You'd think at 64, I'd be more confident. This is Joan's birthday lunch and I did not get her a real gift. I have a wee pot of tiny daffies and a card for her with a gift certificate to a florist. She is off to Brazil on business on Sunday for two weeks and then goes to Vancouver the end of April so no sense buying her flowers now. She's a psuedo jet setter!
Tubby time! (Maybe I should change the wording!) HAve a lovely Tuesday.
It's raining today, but I'll take it, as long as it isn't snowing!
Off to the drop in this morning and home for a rainy day afternoon. Dh is going to the doctor this moring for his stomach problems--finally! He's had GI trouble as long as I have known him and he won't go see a doctor about it. It has gotten so bad the last few weeks that he realizes he has no choice. MEN!
Still haven't heard anything about his business trip, his boss was too busy yesterday to discuss it so maybe today we'll know something.
Ruth, I have the same feeling about my summer clothes--dang it all if I don't fit into them all again!
Deb, Hope you have fun on the trip, although I can't say that the bus would be too comfortable. Bring lots of pillows!
Sue! How's the puppy doing? Do you still have her?
Yikes! My computer seizedhalf way through the post! Lucky I cold get some of it down..sheesh!
Sherrie, how come they do 4 pictures?
Sono, is a Simchat Bat a specific type of cultural celebration? We gave dd her 100 day birthday party as part of her Korean heritage so I'm interested to know what culture this is
Well, it is gonna get to 70 again here today tooo---I love it! My crocus is in bloom, and daffidils are trying to rear their heads!
I just had a bowl of cheerios with splenda--it's a shame that is off-plan! I don't have any eggs in the house-and I was starving-guess I better make a pit-stop at the store.
Woke up this morning to cows in my back-yard-what a hoot!
I could have saved $400 on the side of beef I just ordered!
Well SHDH and I are at it again--what a drag! I am about to tell him to straighten up or me and the kids are outta here! I know that is drastic, but I'm afraid he may need drastic measures to wake him up and see how good he has it. My friend was over last night and he came home (yup he'd been drinking) and she told him that she does not do half the sh** that I do, between the house, the kids, my mom, and my grandma's, I went upstairs and let them to battle it out-I guess he did tell her that he has been VERY upset about the war--(He was in Desert Storm) and she told hime-he should be telling his wife about his concerns-not just acting out!
Well, we will see.
My aunt called last night and Joyce Myers is going to be around here next month--anyone know of her. I think she is great, and my aunt thinks I really need to go see her. I told her maybe SHDH needed to go see her more!
well, have a wonderful day everyone--
Sherrie--I know what you mean about the pix-our school does them 2 times a year--then softball.dancing.basketball--can you have to many pictures???
DebKay--I hope you have a wonderful time--at least it is not REAL far--or is it?? I just keep thinking about me riding clear to Floridia--YEESH--did that once--never agian-I'll take a plane!
Sono-I am getting me a cup of coffee--need one yet??
MissD...its always our loved ones we take our stress out on. I hope you and hubby can work things out. Communication is a tough one for some men. It was almost impossible for my ex....he still insists that he wasnt the problem! (then why did I leave??) With my now hubby, at least I can pull out of him whats bugging him. Makes life alot easier. About threatening to leave....maybe you can take a little mini vacation with the kids? Take off to your parents or a hotel just for the weekend? Take a break, and go back with clearer minds?.......or, let him deal with the kids and the house for the weekend, and you escape for some "me" time. Give him a chance to see what you have to do everyday. Good Luck to you Miss, I only want what makes you happy
Deb, one of these days Im going to stow-away on one of those buses and get to disney land. We have been seriously thinking of going during the Christmas holiday. Is it pretty quiet about that time? Whats the weather like then?
Pooky, I think once they get older they get better at it. Hubby is very good about going to the doc and having tests done that I dont think he would have done when he was younger. My dad is another one...never went when he was younger. But when they get past 50ish, they realize its about healthly life.
So far its sunny outside today, calling for rain this afternoon, so I better get my walk in early. I seen some nice neat piles of branches at the park, I think I might to raid those too and make some furniture this week.
Hi all,
Kids are finally back in school today. WOO HOO!!! it has been a littel more that 2 weeks and i was ready to get back to life. I survived spring break. Lots of wonderful golf in north carolina and friends in Minnasota. It felt good to get back home into my own bed.
Been to the gym and am looking for a dress to wear to my brother's wedding. I saw some nice stuff at Talbots. So I ordered 6 dresses and will return what I don't want.
You all sound so busy and happy that spring has sprung. It feels good to leave the winter coat inside.
Glad you found your walet Ruth,
Miss D hang in there. DH have a nack of turning into SHDH really fast!
Sono, Congradulations I hope the naming went well.
Off to the shower, i managed to get to the gym.

Ruth - Glad you found your wallet, saved you some grief.
Miss - I am with RobinH, take a break for some Me time. It usually helps to psych yourself out a little. Remember you did not get married to get divorced. But you must make yourself and your children happy.
Ladies, I am having a great day, it started out very gloomy and rainy, now it is sunny and about 55. Glorious day! All the more reason to make me want to stay on target.
Willbe........ OP means "on program" or "on plan" - in otherwords, following the WOE (way of eating) without cheats......
SHDH means "sh*theaddearhusband" -- usually used when the dh becomes totally stupid or taken over by testosterone-on-the-brain!!!!!
Good afternoon ladies I love going through your daily thread. It's a very cool thread . This is my first post on this thread. I'm on day two of induction after having to start over . So far it's going great. I had to take my daughter this morning to get her shots and boy was I tempted to grab a snack because I didn't walk with anything to eat and I met a crowd at the pedeatrician. I stood my hunger and bought a bottle of water. When we left there on my way home I bought veggies and chicken and had that. I am really enjoying the sugar free Jell-O for snack. I'm also having lots of water. . And on I go to continue my day. All the best to everyone.
OOOOPS..... sorry, Pooky, I forgot to answer your question.
Loosely translated from the Hebrew, "simchat bat" is a celebration of the birth of a daughter - "traditional" (more observant of the religious laws and traditions - as opposed to those who follow the "reform" movement) Jewish families have this celebration to welcome and introduce a daughter; when a boy is born, on the 8th day there is a "bris" (circumcision) at which time the child receives his Hebrew name (as well as being circumcised) and there is a big welcome celebration.... there is no bris for a girl, so there is a naming before the Torah shortly after her birth and then, some period of time later, a simchat bat. I hope that answers.......
