Insomnia strikes again! I've been awake since pee break at 3. It's so silly to just lie there and think worrisome thoughts so I finally got up. Hershey is sound asleep although she did move to the warm spot.
Kevin is still not finished in the bathroom. A one day job has taken three now. He was all set to finish up and discovered a leak in the vanity plumbing so I'm off to get a shut-off valve as soon as they open. Today I haul stuff out of the sauna so he can measure for shelving. I have no idea where I will put all the stuff but I am NOT carrying it downstairs. It's boxes of clothes, Christmas stuff, costumes and silver holloware that I've packed away because I'm sick of polishing it! I need to get the antique dealer in!
I'm off to take a bath and then get cracking on Thursday.
Ruth coffee on the way to you, and anyone else who NEEDS it. My coffe only comes one way, strong and leaded, but boy is it good.
to everyone.
Just a quick hello........I HAVE MY VAN BACK!!!!! My son picked his truck up yesterday the repair shop found nothing wrong with it, but we shall see. I'm just so glad to have my van back......I can finally get out of the house.
Have a sore throat this morning and so does dh so I think we re taking a sick day. Besides, I think we really need it since we've had heavy work loads the last few weeks and even though we aren't dying or anything, the time to ourselves will be good. Miss M is home today, no drop in due to previously booked space.
Best news of the day is our car has survived the deep freeze and after 4 long days being plugged in and a little help from Mother Nature, the car started! Took it on a quick run to make sure everything is OK, but I think we are seriously going to consider changing the oil today.
The meeting last night was exactly what I expected it to be, long and difficult. I am feeling even more that I want to step down from the board in June and focus on starting my night care business (can't do both, conflict of interest policy). Not the right time to bring this to the board since we have far too many other issues to deal with right now but suffice it to say I think a lot of the members will be surprised when I don't stand to become Vice President.
Ruthie, even though you have to wait for a new bathroom, I can tell you it will feel wonderful by the time it is all done! And I hope you are painting the bathroom? Better for easier cleanup. wallpapertends to peel in a misty bathroom, no matter how good you put it on. (Besides, I'm anti-wallpaper anyway!)
Deb, I am so glad you got your van back, nothing worse than being wheel-less!
I'm with Pooky, you won't find a shred of wallpaper in my house. I can't seem to find a pattern I would like to look at until doomsday. Paint can be changed so quickly, too! Have fun with it Ruth, you deserve it!
Going to be a long day today and tomorrow. Inventory of the entire cemetery, 20 different gardens with a gazillion spaces, have to count them twice, etc, etc. Yuck. Then it's off to Grandma's house so dd can visit, so a late night cause she lives in the boondocks!
Coffee's nice and hot here, too. But unleaded - there's plenty!
Debbie ~ I have a feeling you're going to be running the streets in Georgia today! Maybe a nice trip to super Wally World?
Ruth ~ Sounds like you're been doing some major home improvements! I vote for the paint, too. There's so many beautiful colors to chose from!
Sherie ~ How's the new car? Hope you're feeling better!
for those to come.
Today is more paperwork - seems as tho it's as never ending as mt. laundry. Speaking of which another load or two of that to throw in. I was planning on mopping the entry and kitchen, but since it's planned to rain all day it'll just be a waste of time.
This insomnia is bad. Fifth night in a row. I was up at 3:00 a.m., too. Then the phone rings at 3:30 - I ran to get it, missed it and laid there wondering if all the kids are okay. Come to find out that it was a fax machine! Grrrr.
Gee Debbie, maybe I could use a nice strong cup of your leaded coffee!
Good morning,
I have been MIA with lots of stuff going on. Today the roof is leaking from the ice dams. It is going to cost me either $1000 to have it removed or tons fore than that for the damage it is doing....AHHH I love home ownership!
Older boy is sick, I need to get out!
Jiff I saw you post on the other forum. I too hear you on the weight loss. How much can one oerson do to loose a few pound? i do 600 cals a day on the eliptical alone and take in about 1400, I must have some meobolic rate to make up for the other 800 calories...WHAT IS THE DEAL?
Ruth, go for paint. I rally can change any room, and if you hate it, change it again. I am sure you know some Lad that would be happy to help.
Pooky feel better
GFM: I am confused about inventory at a cemetary, but it sure makes me smile to think about it.
Thankd for the coffee Mama
and to all you other chicks have a great day!

Well, I REALLY wanted to stay in bed today, then I read where some of you chickies were up before the sun, so now I am counting myself lucky!
I was sooooo hungry yesterday chickies...I'm not sure what the problem was but I had the serious case of the munchies. I did not do to bad considering, but I did go to bed hungry which I haven't done in a long time!
Another snow day..kiddies are home again can't take much more!!
Good morning to you all.
Reading the posts to find out that Sherry you say that you eat a lot of soup? what kind? Glad that you like your new car.
Today is my day off, as I work this weekend. I had a large sleep in, that was great but I slept on my bad side, and when I woke up my back hurt. I have to get that seen to but I hate to go to the doctor and say when I wake up it hurts, no it don't hurt when I walk, it feels better when I am up for a wile. You know the story.
Jenny-I was kidding when I called the new snow blower a snow thrower. It is that it works so nice.
L-Why can't you go up and clear away the ice on your roof? I think DH said he had to do ours again today?
I went to tops last night, I wasn't going to go as I figured I was up 2 pounds, but I said, "Cathy, take your gains as well as your losses." I stayed the same. For the trird week I will do something different so I can take off some weight this week.
I went back into Flylady site and rejoined. I must say that my house looked a lot neater when I was a member. SOOOOO.
I must go and get dressed for the day with my shoes tied, and clean this house a bit.
As fot the pounds we are trying to loose:
The greater the obstacle,
the more glory in overcoming it.

HI girlies!!! Quick checkin-busy at work today and need to be working........hope everyone is doing well - sounds like everyone is busy!!!!
Ruth go with Paint you can change it if you hate it .....maybe Border- I love border - we use it in the kids rooms and border over it as they outgrow it......
Afternoon Ladies--
Well, I haven't been quite OP today--went to lunch with a freind at a pizza place--I started out really good, and ate salad and pizza toppings only--then I got home with the left-over pizza and could not containe myself any longer!!! I ate 2 pieaces --I think--maybe three--I was in a zone so I can't remember The good news is that the crust is really thin on the pizza so hopefully I did not do to much damage ----weigh in is tomorrow at the Doctor
Ruth--I agree with Scooby--paint and Border!! you can get sooo creative with paint nowadays! I sponged my DD room with purples, blues, and grays--then we did my aunt's living room with real lite tan and eggshell--beautiful!!
well girls--I am sweating so I need to get out of this house.
Ruth, may I add my voice to the others advocating paint vs wallpaper? The last time I wanted wallpaper Peter adamantly refused. He hates having to cut it to fit around window casings and door frames. Now, I'm glad we didn't paper. First because it's so darned hard to choose from the gazillions of patterns that are available and second because if you make a mistake and end up hating it, there's the hassle of either living with it or scraping it off and starting over. Paint is easier and, if you want to get creative a la Debby Travis, you can always do some sponging or ragging or combing. Lots of neat effects can be created with subtle colours.
I wonder why some of you are such insomniacs. Must be guilty consciences. I live such a clean, blameless (read boring) life that I have no concerns to keep me awake. When I get up for my pee break around 3, I have no problems getting right back to sleep again. Last night I was up at 3 but, for some strange reason, I was convinced that I'd heard my 6 am alarm go off. How delighted I was to learn it was only 3 and I could still sleep another 3 hours....and I did too.
Hugs to any Chicks not feeling well today. My only problem is feeling dozy because it's a dark, rainy day here on the Wet Coast. I'm having a tough job keeping my eyes open. (see, I can sleep anywhere, anytime. No problem)
