Talking Sunday Chatter Feb. 9th

Good morning everyone!

Last shift of the weekend for me and right after it I get to race home, have a shower and get ready to go to my mom's house for dinner. My bro and SIL will be there with my wee nephew so it will be worth the trip. My mother and I aren't on good terms, and haven't been for a very long time. I find our visits to be both useless and emotionally exhausting. She may as well be talking to her hairdresser for the emotional attachment that comes across from her...but I digress, I will enjoy the visit with my brother and his wife, haven't seen them since Christmas and now that they are expecting their second baby, they will be even busier than before. So the plan is for em to sleep in the car until we get close to where we are supposed to be going and then dh has to wake me up so I can give directions.

Linda, I didn't know you were diagnosed already--no wonder you are feeling like nothing will work for you! Just know that we are all here for you and know that a low carb diet really is the way to go.

Robin, my thoughts are with your ss as he embarks on a very difficult journey. My thoughts are with you

Sono..is that OK for short?

Ruth, I'm finding my food is staying with me longer than usual these days too. Maybe my stomach is shrinking?

dyan--way to go on the virgin fat territory!! I have a while before I get there--virgin fat for me is what I weighed right after giving birth to dd--181pounds.

Gina, there will be days like this, where we eat the wrong foods and our hormones are all whacked up. We'll do the time together since I officially got my period last night on shift (don't worry, I was prepared, it had been threatening for days). No weigh ins till it's over!

tammy, take comfort in the fact that your weight will come off faster in the long run more so than theirs if you feel envious of what they can eat on WW. You will be slim and sexy in no time and they will be hitting a lot fo stall outs!

Sherrie! I am so glad your friend has taken Tommie for a sleepover, but walking around all day was NOT good! I hope you rest really well, OK?

Goomba, oh that's me in a nutshell--trade in coffee for chocolate! I have been working on fooling myself though--lots of hot tea and chicken soup.

Sorry for those I missed, just hope you all have a great day!

Mis-may you have a day to remember.

Well I must go as I have to get ready,
Have a peaceful slice of a {short work day] large happy day.
I think I will get on the scales tonight,I had a lg, bad, meal lastnight for supper, but I did do my program on the tredmill.

Morning chickies!!

Getting ready to wake up the family for the big day--I am excited!! Alyssa is the youngest one that got picked for this competition, and I know the other moms think she is going to be the one who flips out--I have faith in my girl though--she really wants to do this--she will do well.

TAZ--DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF TONIGHT--DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF TONIGHT--Need I say it again? You don't need the pressure of learning how much damage you do with every meal!!
Just get back OP and weigh NEXT week if you need to!!

Morning Pooky--Hope your day goes well, although my mom and I are really close, I have just one sibling-- a sister-and we have not talked since October--I don't even miss her. Sad isn't it? Is Miree at YOUR mom's house?

Sono--It all makes since now!!

HAve a great day everyone--its Sunday--relax and enjoy those around you!!

Good Morning Chickies...... why am I up and so many of you are not????? Well, for one thing, my first tax client of the season is due here in 1/2 hour! (Hoooray - extra $$ to pay bills ) Doggone it! I spoke too soon (and spent the $$ not yet earned!) - He just called to reschedule for Tuesday.... he's sick

Pooky - <HARUMPH!!!!!> EXCUUUUUUSE ME!!! : "Sono for short"??????? I'll have you know that I am 5' TALL - I am not short!!! - I might, however be slightly vertically challenged!)
Just remember to DRIVE CAREFULLY! No on-street racing allowed - you want to get there in one piece so you can have a nice visit! I hope you have a lovely visit with your brother, sil and the baby.....

Taz.......virgin fat is "old" fat that you are just beginning to lose - it hasn't been on and off a hundred times like the rest of it! Shoot! That didn't come out sounding right - I hope you get what I meant, tho..... probably one of the chickies who's still sleeping can re-state it better if they ever wake up and come play with us!!! Also, I have to re-state what Mis.D said: DO NOT GO NEAR THE SCALE TODAY!!!!!! I did, and boy am I sorry (went to a Greek Restaurant last night and had some moussaka! - we started out with good intentions, but the cafe where we planned to go had a 1+ hour WAIT for a table... not in this lifetime!..... so we went to a different place!)

Miss.D - hope your Alyssa has a great time at the competition today (btw, my dd who just had the baby is also an Alyssa!). I'm sorry about your sister - I also only have one sister. She doesn't live close enough for us to see each other much, but at least we can talk on the phone - we are the only relative we each have, since our folks are gone and the few cousins we ever had are scattered to the 4 winds and we hardly ever saw each other anyhow (I probably wouldn't know them if I bumped into them on the street - isn't that sad?)

Well, I guess it's time to start the day........ have a great Sunny day ladies...... catch you all later.........

Good Sunday Morning!

Super busy day so I will make it quick. My father in law is coming to our home for the first time today. He walked out on my husband's mom over 25 years ago and left her with 3 small kids. He now realizes that he is alone in the world and wants forgiveness. Should be alot of fireworks here today...I will not cheat but a really stiff drink may be in order!
Thinking of you all!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I hope you are having a good day.

I am new to this sort of thing. Message board that is not dieting.

I am on atkins and feeling good and doing well on my weight loss.

I am having a hard time getting my co-workers to understand my program and that I can't eat things like they do. We often order out as a group. They are trying everything to get me to break. They truely are great friends.

I am so determined that I don't anything can stop me. Finding this site has helped me alot.

On my 39th birthday I told my self that I had to loose 40 pounds by my 40th birthday. So far I have lost 20.

Well thanks for listening and have a great day!

Hi everyone! Housecleaning is my game today, and dd is crying, because she and her friends made such a mess in her room yesterday. She wants me to help her clean it up. I told her if she would scrub the toilets and the bathtubs, I would pick up her toys. Guess what she's doing right now?

Hope you all have a wonderful day, I'm going out to BFE this afternoon so she can see her grandparents, that's about all the excitement I can handle for one day. Talk to you later!

Quick check-in!

Just got my exercise chasing Miss Lucy through the woods in the deep snow! She dashed out the door when Harry was bringing in wood and took off. Actually it was fun because Hershey and the three kids from up the hill joined in! Somehow I think she does not want to go to Show Handling class this afternoon! Neither do I but we will go because this morning's blizzard has disappeared! Anyhow we need to keep those snobs in line!

I hope everyone is having a great SUNday!

Default Good Morning Ladies

Well, we woke to no heat and a phone call cancelling our days plans due to snow storms south of us.

Sunday paper didnt show up, hubby called the paper, and they said that the press broke down, and they would send us a paper as soon as its ready. Now explain to me how our neighbours got their papers?????????

Furnace guy came right over, was here about 15 min, and billed us for $224.00 we have heat and still no Sunday paper.

So, Im showered, and b**chin' and moanin' to you ladies. I think its time to head out to starbucks for our Sunday coffee.

On a brighter note, Ive lost another lb......so there is a bright side to my morning!!

Dazzling....great job on your loss

Pooky...enjoy your visit with your brother and take the good out of it.

Have a good Sunday
Robin

Boy, the day is flying by. Did my Leslie Sansone tape, cleaned up the papers from the past weeks mail, finished up laundry, and put in bread for DH.

We are starting to house hunt, and it sure is depressing. We have been renting the house we live in, it was owned my SIL(really BIL's DS) who died last week. Well, BIL and his DB now own it, and want to sell. We don't want to buy it cause it's small, on a noisy street and has basement problems. But house prices are through the roof here, Nassau County on Long Island. So, it will be a struggle. We are going to have to find cash someplace! There will be no shrimp lunches! Burgers anyone?

My eating is good for about 2/3rd's of the day, in the afternoons I get itchey and want to eat. evenings have been better, and I've always done ok in the mornings. I think I'll go boil some eggs for deviled eggs this afternoon. Or just get some Doritos, like yesterday!

Not much else...working on my taxes, going to make sausages and peppers for dinner.

be good, chickens

Talking Good afternoon chicklets!!!

Sundays are so wonderful arnt they. My DH let me sleep in until noon today .. to tell ya the truth, I woke up at 8 am and just layed in bed snuggling with the cats I figured its the only day he really has to get up and deal with the foster monsters so I might as well relax

Im having a hard time getting all my water in today but I know I will catch up by this evening and then be up all night in the washroom .. but hey I will have had all my water for the day. DH and I have decided to go out for dinner this evening .. nothing special but no buffet either that would be a BAD thing
I feel like having a big juicy steak but I find that red meat sits in my stomach for days and gives me such bad cramps ... and its my favorite too

I spoke with my mother the other day and told her about my cravings .. she said that she had heard that taking calcium supplements helps to kill the cravings. Has anyone else ever heard this??

Pooky - I have been drinking herbal teas for the past 4 months and I tell ya Im not fooling myself at all My brain is constantly on the lookout for Tim Hortons .. what do they put in that stuff that draws you to the little red sign .. if someone is giving me directions, I ask where is the closest Tim Hortons and then I know how to get there .. its sad isnt it

Tammy - Good luck with the visit. Im sure it will very stressful for you all. My DH's father did the same thing and his mother became an alcoholic .. he wanted nothing to do with his father not even when his father passed away .. I can relate to the stress you will be going through Keep your head up and your spirits high.

Dazzling - WTG thats a big loss .. Keep up the good work

Scooby2 - Congrats on your anniversary

Robin - WTG another lb bites the dust!!! You go chicklet

Dottie - Good luck with the house hunting .. Im sure that you will find something that you like.

Well, I have tons of laundry to do .. god I hate laundry .. I use to have the older kids do their own but they destroyed my washing machine by overloading it .. so now I do it all. Yuck laundry stinks (pun intended)

Keep up the wonderful work ladies .. you are my insperation .. now if only I could find someone to do my persperation I would have the perfect diet plan

Default Long Island Girl!

Dottie! - I am a Long Island Girl too! DH and I bought our house in October of 2001. I know how depression the house hunt in our area can be and how awful it is to realise that the homes you can afford are really less than ideal.

I am a Glen Cove girl born and raised and spent some time living in Hicksville as well. DH is from Williston Park.

My advice to you? Come of out to Suffolk! We have a charming 3br ranch with a nice piece of property in a safe and friendly area of Huntington Station. If you want the name of our realtor, give me a PM and I will hook you up. Huntington is great! We are a stones throw from Nassau, but get the cost break of being in Suffolk.

There is a place out there for you... Just take some time and look A LOT. Check out www.realtor.com for soem ideas of what is available.

Oh, and let me know if I can help!

OK, so now I'm ready to move to Long Island. LOL On second thought, do they have any Tim Hortons there? What the heck am I talking about? I've never even been to a Tim Hortons and there's one just down the road from us. The last thing I need is to get hooked on yet another high carb food.

I've been busy in my craft/guest room trying to get some box lids painted. My women's club is having a Spring Workshop in a few weeks and I have promised to do a demo on painting blackberries so I wanted to get several box lids in various stages of completion ready to display. Then at the workshop, I can show them how I do the blackberries. It's so fun and easy. Just dip a cotton swab into two shades of dark red and dark purple and dab, dab, dab. Then hilight each little dab with a white dot. REally cute.
I also have to start work on a quilt square. The five groups in our valley (of which I'm regional president) are trying to put together a quilt which we will eventually raffle off. Each square is supposed to have some significance with regard to our beautiful Fraser Valley. I think I'm going to have a hot air balloon on mine because we have them flying over us on every nice day from spring thru fall. Just have to get myself organized and get going on it.
I also have a ton of paperwork to do for dh's construction business. I have to get our taxes into the accountant so she can get them ready. I really, really hate paperwork and to think I've been stuck doing it for years now just makes me irritated.

As for the diet...well, I've been sticking to the diet plan that came with my Xenical prescription. This morning it was a nice change to have a bowl of 7 grain porridge. Nice to enjoy a bit of fruit too, but we will see what all these carbs do to my blood glucose levels. AND, even more important, will they trigger cravings? AND even more imporant than that....will the Xenical do a number on me again? YOIKS! That was no fun, believe me.
