Morning chicks it is 5:35, -9, very cold, calling for heavy snow, and it is my weekend to work.
I am starting the thread as I have to be up early today. I will check back to see what you all have been up to this fine day.
I am trying to do WW points as I find LC just not working as I need fruit. I do not go to the bathroom as it is and on LC I feel like I am trying to pass a MAC truck [if you Know what I am saying]
Well all for now, Try to have a large slice of a great day,
TAzcat.
Kevin the Fence Lad is coming at 8 to look at a job for me. We have a sauna that we use just for storage and I want shelving in there. I know, I know, but I hate saunas and DH has high BP which makes it a no-no.
Lovely lunch with DH yesterday after my haircut. For once we went to town and did not do a Wally-World or A&P shop. No lugging and putting away when we got home - just the paper and a cup of tea!
Ruth, that sauna sounds great! What's the shipping from Canada to SC on something that size?
Going to be another fun day of invalid-ism (hey, I created a word!) But, I feel great and it's nice not to have to go to work. So, I may get some sewing done this afternoon, Tommie's Barbie quilt is sadly neglected lately!!
Hope you all have a great Friday, talk to you later!
Tonight mom and I are going to see Les Miserables performed by our local high school. They do an excellant, very professional job. I am looking forward to it. I will also be having a facial before I go.
Taz ~ I just started ww at work and I am trying to combine ww and lc. I just weighed in yesterday and was down 2 1/4. Good luck to you. I also needed the accountability.
Ruth ~ I would love to have the sauna!
Peachie ~ I see the pigs are flying, I need a pic of you in the chicken hat!
just checking in here to say I'm still hangin in. I'll have to have a chicken purse for our chick meet too. Wonder what a fancy resturant would think to see a large group of us fluffy ladies all dressed up to the 9's and all carrying chicken purses!!!
Woke up to some snow on the ground--our school already was out for a teacher inservice--but the other schools closed down--one less day we will have to make up!!
Going to take the girls and one of DD friends to the mall today--I need to get a lot of stuff for this competition coming up--I have never been to one so I was clueless about all the stuff the girls need!!
Not much else going on--Taz--my Pastor's wife has been doing Atkins for awhile now--and REALLY losing--she eats fruit though whenever she wants--at least a couple of servings a day, and she is still losing! She says if you eat it on an empty stomach--and with nothing else (like eggs or toast) then your body will not absorb the sugar that is in the fruit, but use it, but if you eat it with something else, then your body will store that natural sugar and use whatever else you are eating as fuel. Don't know if that helps or not, but I found the concept interesting.
DonDar~A Facial--never had one--sounds heavenly! I had wonderful skin in high school when all my friends were breaking out--now I pay for it and my skin erupts all the time--I know you wanted to hear that!!
sherrie.. hope the BF comes back for more waiting on you hand and foot. it's the LEAST he could do. maybe he could start building you a sauna in his spare time?
well, sitting here watching the snow fall. about 5 inches already, no snowplows, and it's hard to get out of this street right now. the office isn't opening until 10, but there's no way i'm getting there until the plow comes.
so, here i am.
as of yesterday. officially. my lung function is finally normal after at least 5 years!!! all the weight. all the swimming. it's all paid off. i was sooooo happy!!! all that and 1/2 mile swimming and a long soak in the hot tub last night for a reward [so, what's wrong with me that i'm using swimming as a reward??? sometimes chocolate is better]
well, i'd stay longer if i had anything to say.l but i love you all... and so glad to see you..
Well. I had a AWFUL day yesterday. Client meeting that had me running around all day and lunch and dinner out! I ate way too much, got indigestion and had to take Rolaids which probably messed me all up! I didn't even weigh or test Keytones. I don't think I will until tomorrow...
Snow here on Long Island too. We will have about 5 -7 when all is done. It was already slippery getting here this morning. I fear what it will be like when it is time to go home.
I have been slacking on my excercise BIG TIME! I need to get back on my treadmill. I hope I can make myself do it tonight!
Gina
Good Morning everygorgeousoneofyou!
I am back home from dds house - she and the baby are home - the family are all well - and most definitely insane! I've so lost my mind that I don't remember if I told you baby's name.... Emma Zoe - dd hasn't yet decided what she wants to "call" her, cause the name Zoe is so pretty and she doesn't want it to get "lost" - anyhow, she is a tiny little thing who looks a lot like her "big" 21month old sister Rosie. We took lots of photos and some video, too, I'll try to see if I can get any of it uploaded - maybe a pic of the 3kids so we can have a "contest" to try to rename me!
Anyhow, the snow is really coming down here, 3 - 4" already and no end in sight - I have a chiro appointment in 1/2 hour (all this driving back and forth to NYC and sleeping on floors and couches has most definitely not helped my back!), but fortunately her office is close and I have 4-wheel drive, so I'll be able to get out of the driveway! - also, no plows in sight yet here either, Jif!
Welcome back to those lovelies who've been missed
Taz, glad kitty is doing better
Sherrie - feel better soon
Jif - huge hooray on the lung function!!! I am sooooo proud of you!
I want one of those chicken purses too!!! As for the feathers, well, we can talk more about that later - but those tassels - even tho I am "vertically challenged", I think my size is extra long!!
Barb, Sue, everyone else who at the moment I simply cannot remember due to craft:
Have a good day all - will check back later........
Well, good old Kevin called to say he has "the runs" and isn't coming this morning. I guess it will be Monday.
So....free morning which I will spend in the sewingroom. Goodforme can join me.
Jiff, come on up and we can spend the day together! (Wouldn't it be fun to live closer.) Congrats on getting the lung function back! Breathing is very important! I bet you knew that.
Barb, I was wondering where you were. How is Ole Alvin?
Les Mis - should be good, Dondar. I have never had a facial but am going to get one. Is it true that you can't put on makeup for a few hours afterward?
MissD - fruit on an empty stomach. Interesting theory. I love strawberries and other berries and find that part of Low CArb difficult.
OK - I'm off to rearrange my day. Too bad it's snowing or I could go to town for lunch - again!
Well gang, I have a whole five minutes today to sit and post so here goes...
Going to take M to gran's house this weekend with Rosie (who is big, plump and silly ) and then race back to get in some sleep before my start of shift. In between this, dealing with insurance, and general clean/prep to go. Amongst all this, my period is really trying to come all by itself (for those PCOS ladies, you know what I'm talking about). Should just be an extra special weekend! LOL
Ruth, that sauna sounds like heaven, can I come and get it?
SamsG--glad that the baby is doing so well, and congratulations! I love the name Zoe too
Gina, I feel the same way after eating too much--a good litre bottle of water fixes me right up!
Jiff!, congrats on having healthy lungs! Just think--you are gonna be one amazingly healthy woman!
Miss, I don't about the fruit thing, but I can say that I have been craving fruit recently and I figure it's a better source of sugar than the refined garbage out there. And your pastor's wife is right about this as it doesn't seem to effect me the same way as refined sugar. Don't know if that would apply to everyone though.
Barb, not just the purse, but the thong, pasties, feathers and everything else!
Jenny, have fun at the play!
Sherrie, glad to hear the surgery went so well and even happier that you can enjoy the time away for yourself!
taz, I know about the constipation you are talking about! BUT! Don't give up on low carb just yet--there are other low carb plans that allow fruit--why not try Carbohydrate Addict's Lifespan Program? They allow one "Reward meal" a day where you are allowed to have a carb, and in your case, you can have some fruit!
Hope you all have a good one--ready to get crackin' and get packin'
Jiff....congratulations on your lung power!! Your an amazing lady
Taz...I used to have the same problem....and knew exactly what you meant when you mentioned the mac truck anyway, I boosted up my broccoli and I havent had a problem since. About the fruit, Miss D's right. In somersizing, that is how you are suppose to eat your fruit.....on an empty stomach, and at least 20 min before eating anything else.
Pooky...do you get the popping ovaries too? lol Isnt it wonderful being a woman??!!
As for me, well, I finally made my January goal...7 days late, but thats ok I am officially 199lbs and Im thrilled!!!!!!!
Off to make my broccosalad for lunch........I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!
I am really so tired of the snow. It seems most of you have already been pounded by what is coming our way. It always seems to snow on the weekends which are my only time to get out of my house childless. I had an accident 5 years ago and hit a bridge during a freezing rain storm. Now I will not even drive with my husband in flurries.
Congratulations Robin. That is awesome. Four years ago I got down to 197 and I can remember how wonderful and proud I felt.
I pulled out all of my weight watchers stuff last night and have been thinking long and hard about it. One of my friends joined again . I am not ready to call it quits just yet. I feel better now but it is just so hard to not have comfort foods when you need them.
