Talking Saturday January 18th chick chat

HAH!

I got permission from my supervisor that I can use the computer at work! Whoohoo! (Lord knows I don't want to get fired after being here for only a month! )

So it's very early in thje moring and you chickies should all be tucked in your beds. I am listening to internet radio and sitting at my very boring desk. I have no one else here, just me and that's it. Does get boring for sure but this really is a lovely break after chasing around an active 3 year old all week!

BRAG ALERT! Speaking of Miree, I tried the "school at home" thing on Thursday morning adn she shocked me! I mean, I know my child but I seriously underestimated her ability. I gave her a sheet to practice printing her letter "a" and she did the whole sheet! What's more is she still knows how to do it and is eager for more! Very proud Mommy moment. Even better, today I was approached by the manager of the daycare she goes to (which is run more like a school than anything else) and they want to bump her up to the senior room! Those kids already attend school, and are a good 6 months older than her but the teachers all assure me she is soooo ready to go. I am just thrilled Now I am worrying about if I teach her too much, by the time she goes to Jr. K in the fall (registatration for which is the first week of February) she will be bored since you get such a diverse mix of kids--some have been at home the whole time and don't know the rules all the way to those who have totally done the daycare system. Hmmm--wonder if they will let her go to Kindergarten instead if she does so well

Well, got to run and do a patrol now--have to do them every 2 hours--in an empty plant! OY!

I'm still up but just about ready to call it a night, Pooky. I feel like I might be coming down with something as my head feels quite woozy. Probably just tired though. It's midnight here.

That little gal of yours sounds ready for Grade 1, never mind kindergarten. I'm wondering if part of the behavior problems at drop in were because she needs more mental stimuli. She doesn't seem like the type to be content sitting in a corner playing with blocks. She's so eager to learn and obviously ready.
Well, I'm sorry I can't stay up and keep you company but I'm zonked. Goodnight. I will check in with you all tomorrow.
By the way, Chicks, I just heard from my daughters MIL in South Africa regarding that friend of her daughter's who has this terrible virus that is turning her blood to pus. She is still unconscious but has shown a very slight improvement. It is still touch and go, so please keep your prayers winging her way. They sure can't hurt. If she does survive, she will have lengthy rehab, probably having to relearn how to walk and talk. It sounds just dreadful but miracles happen every day so we will try to think positive.

Morning earlybirds!

Just a quick one today- I have a cut on my finger and it's hard to type! Nothing serious, but bandaid is bulky.

Not too low Carb this week, but not terrible. I am not getting on the scale becasue I am exerciseing, and I think I am getting some muscle -I'll weigh on Monday, maybe.

we are going to friends for dinner tonight, that will be nice. Work is out of control- too much going on but I don't even want to think about it on Saturdays! I am having real sleep problems this week and took some Ambien 2 nights- that is very unusual for me. I think it's just the stress, my mind is full of junk! So for today, just taking care of some of my To DO list- and get in some play with DN>

Yea! 3 day weekend!

see youze later!
dottie

Hi Linda, praying for your friend...

Hey Pooky.. BRAG AWAY...I used to do it all the time and still do..LOL and my children are 19 and 20 years old...they could also read, write and tell time by the time they were in pre kindergarten..and they never got bored.. In fact they helped teach the other children...They are now both in college and my daughter achieved a 3.94 out of 4.0 on her report card and my son received a perfect 4.0.. ..they are both first years.. So YEP I'm still bragging..LOL

LindaBC I hope you get to feeling better soon.. This flu season has been terrible.. so much for our flu shots....

Dottiejon I hope you have fun at your friends.. My sister in law is having a birthday party for my 4 year old nephew tonight so I will have to be prepared..LOL I'll stick to proteins and cheese,,,She makes a lot of pasta salads but those are no nos in my book.. I may end up making myself a salad and bringing it there....I've come too far to let a party damage me...

Have a great day everyone.

Default 3 day weekend??

i'm SOOO jealous..

not much here. work was productive last week, and not TOO annoying, as the wacky boss woman was away. she still did a couple of very strange things, like going from phoenix to california, thereby changing time zones, and not telling anyone. of course, she was scheduled to be on a conference call and MISSED it. and then blamed the office!

Today is a hair and nails day. mom's getting a perm and i'm getting my greys removed.

many prayers for debk's friend and that lady in south africa. there's so much sadness in the world, from the very personal to the global. ya gotta be grateful for what goes right in your own life!

and i agree with linda, pooky. miss miree sounds bored and acting out! All this advanced work will keep her busy and stimulated. of course, she'll learn all kinds of things you'd prefer that she wouldn't, but that's called growing up. a good thing over the long haul.

let's see...what else is there... dottie, honey. you're injured. take to your bed!!!!

many hugs.. will try to stop back later. and SOONER. now that you've come out again, will you please hang out more??? you've been MISSED!!!!

Pookie, so glad you can use the comp at work. That will help you pass the time more quickly. I know that when I am on this thing time has no meaning.

I must tell you about last night, the Devil had me for sure, I woke up at 2:30??? and I went to the fridge, I had a lsrge glass of mikk AND A ONE PIECE OF WHITE BREAD WITH PEANUTBUTTER. Please pray for me.lol Oh I don't know what to do???

I will chat some more tomorrow as I am going to make pizza soup today, then we are going to SIL to play cards tonight.

Love you all,
Tazcat

Slept late today, wonnnnnnnnnnnderful! Now I have to play catch up the rest of the day. My wee one wasn't ready for kindergarten when she started this year. She was scared, because I was an overproctective mom, she was in private home daycare with about 3 kids her whole life. Talk about culture shock!! Now that she's adjusted to it, she's a different kid. Smart mouth and all, I blame it on the daycare. She's hanging out with 12 year old's after school now. Hmmmm. . .

Anyway, it's good to talk to you all, now I'm off for laundry and "brunch" so MIL can come get Tommie out of my hair!! Hooray!!!!!!!!!! (Should I be getting this much joy out of time alone?)

Default Happy Saturday!!

Im finally wittling away the lbs I put on during christmas...yaaaaaaaaaaaa!! One more lb to go, and I'll be back where I ended/or started eating off program lol

Going to take my northern ontario winter gear to work for my walk today!! Have my fleece lined snowpants, head band, and one of those tubey things for my face. I havent a clue what its called lol Not alot of snow, but its very windy. Its only -7C here today (im still not used to the farenheit/sp?) but the wind is really bitter cold off the lake. But hey! walking is making the weight come off.....so Im even more determined!!

Pooky, I had tried your suggestion yesterday morning, but before I actually got a real person to talk to, they had a blurb about donations, and that they didnt need anymore clothing. This is the same place we did our mitten tree for at the store.

Thats about it for now....Im off to make breaky, and pack our lunch. Have a great Saturday Ladies

Robin

Fly By post ...... got the PC but cannot finish my Net connection. Looks like the modem is either not there or not installed or not activated. So I've set the old PC up again!
I am waiting for calls from the techies so will not be on much today. Need to catch up later!
Yes - I am mightily pissed off!

Default GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

They FORGOT to give me the disc to install/activate the frigging modem! Could I come in and pick it up? NO! So they are going to mail it to me. I just refuse to drive into Kingston again this week. I was supposed to go in on Monday to have lunch with my sister but she gave me a raincheck as her daughter just can't cope at the moment - new baby, really tired, whiny husband with the flu so Granny is going to Toronto to rescue.

Anyhow, I'm back on the old clunker and am going to try to stay calm, cool and collected but write a narky letter to Head Office when I get the thing going!

IT'S NOT GOING TO RUIN MY WEEKEND!

Nope, I don't have the flu. I guess I was just super tired last night. Today I'm having a problem with my right ring finger. Sometimes the arthritis acts up and it's a royal pain to type. Otherwise, I've been doing some sewing and general housework. Nothing too exciting.
I made the mistake of getting on the scale this morning and found I'm up 2 lb from yesterday's WI. What is THAT? I'm not even going to think about it. Just a fluctuation or whatever. I'm not going to weigh now until Jan 31 and that's a solemn vow.

Ruth, I don't blame you for being pissed off. That's a darned nuisance. I'm also having some puter problems...actually problems with my accounting program (Simply Accounting). For some strange reason, I can no longer access my client list which can be a major problem when I want to add a new client or change an addy. Can't reach customer care as their lines are always busy. So, I'm ready to march on whoever with you if you're game.

Bacon & eggs for breakfast, chicken wings for lunch, jello & whipped cream snack. Not sure about dinner yet.

Hello ladies! Pooky and Ruth, thank you for writing me! Pooksie, I have a mail coming to you soon!

I have had loadsa compute problems the past two weeks and have spent practically no time on the site the last two weeks. I have mostly read mail, and that has been very little. I've spent the extra time helping Cody prepare for the Scripps Howard Spelling Bee, which was snowed out yesterday! Fine with me, gives us a few more days to prepare! Also, as usual, loads of things going on at work and I just get all consumed. We have a big customer inspection this coming week and it is going to drain me.

Linda, prayers coming from here for that poor girl in SA! I have never heard of anything like that, the poor thing! DebKay, I need to backtrack and read what your family needs, but I will send prayers that way too!

I am supposed to be looking at the pretty snowfall right now, so I better get to it while it is still snowing, then I will be back to catch up on reading. Anybody got a synopsis of the last two weeks? Anything hot and exciting that I missed???

Miss you!!!!!!!!
