Merry Christmas, Tazcat! Merry Christmas my chickie friends!
The little guy is still sleeping, the big kid is up and watching cartoons and Santa came last night. The big kid has not inspected the presents under the tree, so he has not seen the fish that his brother got for him. He has opened his stocking!
Yesterday went very well and we will be opening presents shortly and then off to Mom's house. I'd like to hop into the shower but I don't want to risk missing the little guy's face as he comes down the stairs!
I'm sittin here enjoying a cup of coffee with ole Alvin, waiting for the kids {stretch of the imagination}to get here for breakfast and to open presents, then it's off to my Mom's.
Yesterday afternoon we went to Alvin's sisters for supper and to open gifts there. For someone who did no cooking and supposedly on a LC diet, I've managed to collect a whole table full of cookies, candies, and other unmentionables. Don't know for sure what to do with them, I can;t stand to throw them in the trash.
For my good deed of the year, I donated about three big boxes of AVON stuff to the children's home our church helps support. I decided after five years, enough was enough, and I had tons of stuff like lipsticks, mascara, nail polish and bags,(evening bags, cosmetic bags, coin purses, etc most of which were "gift with purchases") I thought about the many ways to sell them, other reps, ebay, garage sale, etc, and then thought about the teenage girls that would love the stuff, so I boxed it up and donated it. Hope they have a merry christmas when they open the boxes.
Merry Christmas to all of you, and a happy new year!
Merry Christmas Morning, Taz and Peach and other Chickies.
Lucy got us up with whimpering this morning - I think she is excited about Christmas! Big Kid (81) has made coffee and is sitting downstairs waiting to open presents! For a guy who never wants anything, he sure gets anxious!
Last night was wonderful - a lovely Church service followed by champagne and terrific food at Bob's house. The man bought a whole Stilton cheese! It was huge - and smelly. By they way, I stayted OP - a bit heavy on the fat but really low carbs. Today will be a bigger challenge.
I hope you two and the Chicks to come have a wonderful and peaceful Day!
Barb, you snuck in. Have a wonderful Day with the new ole Alvin and your family.
It is 931 am and all the presents are opened, Daddy is putting together, pirate ships, vanity's barbie cars, the whole works, so far so good, and it is snowing in Tennessee!!!! Gotta love that!!! DH wants to take a drive to kentucky later and get a Powerball ticket...its is 51 miles so we may just do it to get out of the house!!!!
Merry Christmas to all! We are having a birthday party for Jesus later today here complete with cake!!!
Merry Christmas! Pitter patter of little feet down the hall at 6 this a.m. She was so thrilled! Now, the paper and boxes are put away, the gifts are piled back under the tree, and cartoons are on t.v. Just an ordinary day, huh? We're waiting on my sister and her family, they will be late to their own funerals! Then around noon we're off to grandma and grandpa's. I promise to eat OP, I promise to eat OP! Okay, maybe a little cheat. I hope ya'll have a wonderful day today, remember the reason for the season.
A beautiful and peaceful day inside today- but outside it is cold and rainy and we are expecting some snow later, so that will be fun!
Had DS family here last night for wine and snacks after church, then we all went to our own homes to get to sleep! Watched the DN sing in the jr choir, wow, that always brings a tear to my eye! For today, we will visit my SIL, home in bed, but wearing her Santa hat and in good spirits. then dinner at DS for presents and prime rib! What could be better.
Wishing you all a beautiful day. Enjoy those excited faces (my little boy is 54 and he LOVED opening his stocking!)
whew!!! what a day! everything ran smoothly - except for the snow. am very grateful to peachie for having all the kids this afternoon. the kids are nice even though the DNeph [18] is having all the angst a teenager can have at being separated from his girlfriend.
ladies: I COOKED!!! brunch. dinner. i've had it.
and for the first time since the surgery, i didn't pay the slightest attention to the amount of protein i ate and i had potato chips and cookies and a thin slice of cheesecake and wine and chocolate.
tomorrow, it's back on, but at least i tasted everything i wanted.
lots of lovely gifts. lots of smiling faces. and i'm wearing the angora blend socks peachie gave me. she had no idea that my feet were getting so cold at night, and here's the answer!!!!
and by the way, christmas eve dinner at peachies was wonderful, and her oldest son didn't even throw us out as santa got closer..
last year, it was "ya gotta go home!! SANTA IS COMING." and then a few minutes later; "ARE YOU STILL HERE??????"
poor little kid.
blessed day. happy day.
