  • Good Morning
    Sue, would have loved to see the elders with nose jewels. Sounds like they really enjoyed it. As someone who has spent way to much time in hospitals, both as a patient and as a patients family, let me say, caregivers like you are few and far between, wish there were more!

    Jiff no, you are MY hero!!!!

    peachie, come out, come out wherever you are!

    Janice tell Dawn hello for me.

    Toryah, sister's what are you going to do

    L, drink up and put them on the bus.

    Warning: You are about to enter a WHINE zone!!

    I'm mad at my whole family, right down to and including the dog! You would think I had pms, but I don't.

    My middle son, who will be 20 in less than 10 days, thinks that the whole downstairs is his closet/bedroom/bathroom. He leaves his deodrant on the mantle, shoes everywhere and comes down stairs to brush his teeth. Now mind you, he and his brother share a full bath with two sinks, one for each. It just really bothers me that he leaves junk EVERYWHERE!

    Older son cleaned his bedroom out and threw piles and piles of clothes out in the hallway to wash, over two weeks ago and until I threw a fit this AM they were still there. Now they are back in his room.

    Daughter believes behind the couch is her storage area, band stuff galore.

    Husband, don't get me started here! I'm married to one of the good guys, but in the last week any and everything he does gets on my last good nerve.

    And then there's the dog, who thinks he has to go outside every two minutes.

    Okay I'm done. Yes, I need cheese with my whine

    Whine Zone Ended!!

    Today should be a quiet day around the home front, but somehow I know it won't.

    Hey on a good note, two of my friends and I are going to the Yellow Daisy Festival on Friday. It is one of the largest and best craft shows in the country. It is held at Stone Mountain Park (where we had our chick meet.) Peachie wanna come? The "C" word will be there, lots and lots of it.

    Okay the whiney one is done!

    Have a great day
    Debbie
  • I am such a slug! I can't believe I really did this, since I am (at last check!) a grown up, but last night I passed out around 8:40 Then I slept a half hour late and almost made dd late for school. What the heck is going on???????

    Gotta get my bath today since I never managed it last night, then it's off to work. Hope ya'll have a great day!
  • Sheesh, Debkay! I'd want to go outside every two minutes with all that crap going on. I can totally relate - in retrospect - to the kid and mess problem. If it makes you feel any better, my son and daughter are now compulsively neat.

    Goodforme, that is an incredible sleep! Your poor body must have needed it.

    Toryah, when my sister was in Singapore she used to call me in the middle of the night! a real drag as I usually could not remember the conversation next day and she had to email me what she said!

    Sue, I am chuckling over the glamourous ladies with their nose jewels! You must be a joy to work with.

    L144S - hey! Cheer up! Caffeine up! The kids are going to school! More of your day will belong to you.

    Leenie! Playing hooky AGAIN! Nora and I may have to buzz down there and give you a good shake. Please send up some of that rain - we just got a flea pee's worth yesterday.

    Hi to all who have not checked in yet.

    Yesterday was a busy day and I got lots off my list. Of course, as you do stuff you think of more that needs doing so the list never ends. I sometimes do yellow stickies instead of a list. I get great satisfaction from crumpling up the stickies as the job is done! I addressed, filled and sealed 134 envelopes with Fair Ribbons and little bits of money for the School Prizes. I will deliver them to the schools early next week. There is no way the Secretaries need more work this week! The children's art work goes back at the same time but I have my pal Rob to help me lug it in.

    Miss Lucy is now in her first heat - in case you care. She is very very cuddly and wants to climb on my lap for a love-in several times a day. Kind or reminds me of my daughter when she first got her period - she seemed to want to go back to being a little girl. Lucy also behaved like a teen last night - she grabbed a salmon filet off the counter and ate it raw! Oh well, PWD's were bred to work on fishing boats. Remind me not to get another puppy! Famous last words!

    Hershey and I are off to the "fur stylist" this morning to rid her of the last of the mats in her fur. Rubirose's daighter recommended some great stuff which I've tried out. It works well on small areas but Holly and I will tackle the big areas this morning. Poor Hersh should feel better - right now she has a sort of felt undercoat on her butt and back legs. Poor baby!

    Right now I'm off for a quick bath and then we are off. Gorgeous morning again. I hope to work in some outside work - maybe pull a weed or two?

    Cheers, Chicklettes!
  • Good Morning Chicks

    Well, I thought I was done painting but last night (after the paint dried) I noticed some spots that need more coverage. So today I'll roll another coat on the walls As soon as I get breakfast, I go out side and plant the mums I bought.

    Jennifer~~~I did not read your last-night's post (you know I did!)

    Sue~~You sound like a wonderful addition to your hospital. They are blessed to have you there

    Leens~~~Come on girl, I know you can do it

    Toryah~~~Sisters: ya gotta love 'em

    L~~~Put them on the bus and kick-back and relax with a HUGE cup of coffee

    Deb~~~I can recommend the best cheese to go with that whine. I should know because I use it with my whine all the time. We don't mind at all!!!

    Sherri~~~It's OK to be a slug Please take care of yourself and get lots of rest. How is the flow-thing going? Have you had your blood levels checked lately??

    Jiff~~~Oh my God, did you hear the "C" word ????? I've gotten some great deals at the local Hobby Lobby lately.

    All to come~~~Have a great OP day
    ~~~Sil
  • 'morning to all you chickies..... where's my coffee? I can hardly see straight this a.m.!! Yesterday we had a break from the rain - it was sunny and warm and beautiful: today looks to be back to the gray, ucky stuff! Well, I guess it suits the mood of the local kids, who go back to school today I think!
    Sue .. you must be the absolute best - it's not wonder your old folks love you...... you care for and about them! I love the nose jewels!
    Toryah .. yup... sisters!!
    L.. did you find the coffee yet? I need some too, please!
    Leens.. I'm with you, trying very hard to be good!
    Deb..... your whine goes very well with mine! why must the people we live with (our kids and spouses, ALSO our pets!!) push our buttons until we explode! What the heck is so darn hard about picking up after yourownself?!??! Hmmmm... maybe we can make some kind of pact: I'll hurt yours if you'll hurt mine?? Enjoy your festival! you deserve it!
    Sherrie.. glad you got some much needed rest.....
    Well I don't have too much on today - 1/2 day work (that's all for the week, tho, I GOTTA find another job!!! ) finish putting the fringe on the baby blanket I just made and then start making something else (hey - it's useful and keeps me from eating!!)
    Hope everyone has a great day!
    Hey - Sil and Ruth.... you sneaked in on me! Hope your days are terrific!
  • Hi Ruth You snuck in while I was posting. Your dogs sound wonderful. I think that Lucy's body was craving some essential fatty acids and the salmon fit the bill At least she has healthy cravings. We all should be so lucky
  • Hi SamsG~~there seems to be alot of "sneaking-in" going on this morning. Either that or I am a very slow typist. Have a great day.
  • wow! busy morning! how is everyone? i'm so tired it's unbelieveable....pass that coffee!!!
  • Great morning !
    My first "work" e-mail this morning was a co-worker who wanted to know if anyone wanted a free Soloflex machine. She got it from a neighbor and couldn't use it. Luckily I was the first one to answer so I'm now the proud (and unbelieving) owner of a Soloflex machine. I'm doing the happy dance..
    And I'm signing up for a fitness accessment class at the Junior College. Can I count this as my exercise today, I was at least thinking about exercise. LOL Guess not, I'll strap on the skates afterall.
  • Goooooood morning! I don't get to say that often enough! I don't go to work until noon, so I will probably be here until about 11:30, then screaming and running through the shower and closet for the next 25 minutes (I live close to work!) I tend to show up at work panting, with wet hair quite often!
    Sil, glad you didn't read my post last night! Therefore you probably don't know that my answer is uh, ...no bigger than 500 pixels in height or width, and no larger than 24k!
    Debkay, you have a right to whine! My son is potentially a huge slob in the future. Rob is trying to train him! Poor kid, he will go brush his teeth and come back in with dried toothpaste foam on his glasses and just watch tv like that..scatters his clothes and shoes around, but is pretty good with toys. I guess since 99 percent of his playing is with his Nintendo, he can't get too messy! Rob walks behind him with directions...put this up, now wipe this off, now put your things by the door, etc. Kinda sad, but necessary! A lady on the mailing list has a husband and son that sound a lot like your family. She subbed everyone to Flylady.net and they actually do it! Previously her exercise was hurdling stacks of magazines in her living room, but now she comes home to find them doing little clean-up things. Maybe you should give it a whirl!
    Ruthie, what kind of dogs do you have? They are so lucky to have you!
    Off to make more coffee!
    Have a great day everybody! For you challengers, lets try hard to make it!
  • I'm sensing hostility toward those of us who are "cleaning-challenged". I like things neat and tidy, but my DH is a neat freak. He seriously is anal, to the point that there is a certain way the remotes must line up on the coffee table. I know I drive him nuts, so I empathize with those of you who live with us messies.
    I have chick envy today, Ruth has dogs and Debbie is going to a craft fair. :sigh: and I'm at work with nuthin to do.
