Default How much weight loss is normal for induction diet on Atkins?

Hello, my low carb buddies! Just curious-I am on day 5 of the Atkins induction diet. I had 100 to lose when I started this and lost 8 pounds in just four days! I know a lot of it is water, and Nasus has told me to keep up the water to make sure I keep losing, but how much is normal to lose in the two week time frame? I am just curious. My mind is racing. Maybe you could lose 15 in two weeks?? Is that possible? I remember reading in Atkins newest edition one guy lost 17 pounds during induction. I know everyone is different but I am psyched.

thanks!

15 is possible. i have heard of more but that is rare. but make sure that you drink the water with that. it is important. Keep up the great work!!! read the section on stalls in the FAQ section that will help explain what you are experiencing. (it is regarding the water loss/fat loss. yes some of it is water but there is fat being lost in the process too.

I lost 11 in the first 2 weeks I did Induction a few years ago. At that time I had about 100 to lose. Earlier this summer, I did it again and lost 10, with about 90 to lose. Both times I did find that I lost more in the first week than the second, so don't be disappointed when it slows down! And yes, most if not all is water weight loss! But it IS a great morale booster! I say, keep up with the water drinking and if you're not putting in some exercise START - building those muscles will help boost your metabolism and (eventually!) make you feel great!

thanks for the responses! Well, I am trying not to be bummed. I weighed in today and the scale went up even though I have been following the plan. I think the 8 pounds down may have been due to all the diarrhea I was having the first few days. I think my body was in shock due to the change in eating habits or something. But since I know I havent "cheated" I know the fluctuations are just water. Still, I hope I do lose about 10 for the two weeks.
lets see how it goes...
thanks again!
