Default Independence Day Challenge #6

Good morning, Ladies!

We've been more than a bit scattered on this challenge. So here's what I propose. I'd like everyone to check in this weekend to this tread and let us know how they are doing on their personal goal.

Are you meeting your goals? Do you need motivation/incentive/support? That's what we are here for!

I know that I won't make my 30 pounds. However, as of last week I've lost 7 of my original pounds. So I'm thinking I'll be happy with 20 pounds lost.

If you set a goal for pounds, don't forget the inches. I know I've lost 7.5" off my lovely body since joining the gym 3 weeks ago. I'm bulding muscle so the pounds won't come off as fast as just dieting. Is that happening to you? If it is, you may need to adjust your goal weight by 5-10 pounds.

We can do this. We are not stupid -- we did not set unreasonable goals. Let's kick some hynie and get this challenge in gear! (No, I was never a cheerleader although I did just watch "Bring It On" with DD last night. )

Have a great day and make sure you check in this weekend.

I didn't start with the rest either, But I did start my own goal on June 1st for a month, so I'll use that. I am trying for 1/2 pound a day. so that would be 15 pounds in 30 days. I think I overestimated my ablilities, but like nasus, I'm on a roll too.

I did over do it in the exercise dept. I tried this week to spend 2 hour a day at the club. One hour doing walking, curcuit machines, and the other hour in water aerobics, and I failed big time. by thursday, I felt so weak that I didn't go at all and today I slept throught the time for the classes. Next week I'll pace myself better.

Welcome, Barbg! Good luck. Easy on the exercise though. You don't want to be laid up with torn ligaments or worse.

Sue, Welcom back! You did sign on at the beginning (set a goal of 25-30# lost). I've reset your goal to 6# starting from today. Good luck!

I'll be registering in tomorrow. Got a late start this AM and have already eaten breakfast (without stepping on scale).

Have a great weekend!

212.5 to start and am 204 this morning. I've been yo-yoing for the past two weeks but think I have the water retention licked now! Aiming for 199.9!

Good morning!

Back to 264 this AM. I started out this week so OP it was funny. By Wednesday, I was sliding. Yesterday wasn't even recorded in my journal. Oh, well. I'm still down 5 pounds from my starting point and my size 24 jeans can now be zipped so I'm not beating myself up over this. I feel really bloated so maybe the scale will be friendlier in a day or two.

Hope you are all having better success.

the best way to beat fluid retention is to drink!!!! NOT alcohol!!! but tons more ater till you float then all of a sudden it will run right out of you!

Well, I'm back to 262 (and I must be desperate because I actually think that's a GOOD thing ).

I've also lost another 1/2 inch off my body (1/4" off my upper arms and 1/4" off my waist). Guess the aqua classes are paying off.

Talk to you soon.
