HI EVERYBODY!!
I just had to pop in because I had a feeling something MOMENTOUS was going on and I was right.
JIFFFFFFF I'm soooooo happy for you. You must feel light as air after losing 200 lb. Gosh, it seems like yesterday we were all so worried about you and now you're a weight loss queen. I agree with the others who suggested a total spa experience. Just be pampered and pummelled and spoiled rotten for hours and hours. You deserve it.
Sounds like our Ruthie is getting a touch of Spring fever...??? Look out, Harry!
I'm still on WW and finally broke the 20 pound barrier. Sheesh, it's only taken me 10 months!

But, it's 21-1/2 lb I wasn't losing on any other plan. Still a long way to go. The Meridia seems to be helping me control my appetite and, hopefully, the Metformin is helping to metabolise glucose better, although I haven't noticed any big drop in my blood glucose test results.
I have increased my exercise level, mainly because it's easier now. In fact, I'm really noticing a difference in how much I can do in the garden compared to last year at this time. At 300 lb I could barely walk and any effort was totally exhausting. Even with just 21+ pounds lost, I'm able to work for hours without being overly tired and I'm certainly able to bend, stretch and lift a lot easier. The pool exercises have helped to strengthen my legs so they're not aching as much and lately, (you won't believe this) I've started going to the fitness room for a few minutes before going in the pool and working out on the recumbant bike. I discovered that it doesn't make my back ache like the upright bike does. I'm gradually increasing my time on it until one of these days I hope to do about 20 minutes on it before doing my pool exercises. Then I might get REALLY ambitious (and out of character) and try the treadmill.
I'm also ever so glad I finally broke down and got fitted for orthotics. It has taken a while to get used to them but now I can't imagine my life without them. Trouble is, they only fit into my New Balance walking shoes. Around the house, instead of going barefoot as I always have done, I'm now wearing a pair of Birkenstock sandals and they have saved my feet in more ways than one. They have just enough support that my feet aren't aching after standing just a few minutes at the kitchen counter. I've also noticed that the thick calluses on my heels have begun to disappear (once a week I massage in Udder Balm which stinks like heck but works wonders).
Well, I just wanted to say hello and instead I've written a novel. Nice to see so many familiar faces still here in Low Carb. Sounds like you're all doing well and I wish you continued success. I loved low carb but it didn't love me, unfortunately.
Talk to you soon, I hope.
