Default The Daily for Thursday March 7

Good Morning, Chickies. It snowed again here so this is another day where I can procrastinate about outdoor cleanup. The dogs had a smash and run session with some plastic flower pots which froze into the ground. Things look much better covered with snow! Friday and Saturday will be much warmer and it will get done then.

Piano lesson yesterday turned into a midwife session as one of Morna's dogs went into labour. Morna tried to call me to cancel but the phone was not working so she just let me come anyhow to help. Usually the "girls" manage to deliver during the night so everyone misses sleep! Karma produced 7 portie pups - mother and babies doing fine.

Today I go to visit my grand daughter Tayler who is staying with Granny#1 while her parents are off in Barbadoes. Gonna be a fun day!

Will check in later, ladies - have a good one.

Morning chickies,

We are getting rain here to melt the snow. Looks kinda gloomy around here.

Gosh, not much to report here, just a boring day, ALRIGHT! Drugs are beginning to kick in and I am feeling good!

Love and hugs to you Janice.

Scooby, Leens, and anyone else dealing with sick little one, I hope that they are on the mend.

Have a great day all.

Morning All. Today is pretty rainy, but nice and warm. About 75 degrees...I just wish the rain would stop. The CALP diet seems to be going well. I've also found an email buddy that needs to lose weight too. So, along with my friend and I, the three of us and trying a little goal together. Hope everyone has a great day. Sorry to hear about the little ones being sick. That never make it easy on the mommies. good luck with everything.

Good Morning Ruthie, Scooby, DonDar, Maggie & of course all of those you haven't yet checked in!!!

It is gray here today, but at least it isn't raining! I have errands to run with dd's. It seems I'm becoming a frequent mailer at the post office!

Good news is that my mom and my auntie are going to come visit this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it. I do enjoy their company, and the girls especially love having them over.

I am feeling extra blessed that with all the sick little babies (and big babies) that every one has, that my little ones haven't had it yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we are flu free this year!

Checked out my scale. Seems to have a lithium battery that can't be changed, but dh thinks that maybe the linoleum in the bathroom is too soft to give accurate readings and I should try the garage. I'll see if that works. I guess if I want to get really accurate readings I should schedule that put off yearly appointment with my doc!

Have a great day everyone!

Talking Good Morning!!!

Well today is a wonderful day .. I'm feeling sooo much better and guess what .. there are no kids at home to spoil my silent time!!! I don't know about anyone else but I do enjoy the sound of silence

I stayed pretty much OP so far this week .. just a little slip up with some white bread .. yuck .. it is even beginning to taste sweet. I am still struggling with the coffee but so far I have only had two cups .. I will hold off until homework time to have anymore. This is just as hard as trying to quit smoking .. which I havent been able to do yet either I know with the warm weather approching it is time to make my second attempt to quit that nasty habit too .. at least when its nicer out I keep busy in the garden and cleaning the pool so I am not as likely to smoke. I have tried to quit before and actually did really well until the doctor took me off of Zyban due to seizures I use to have when I was in grade 3 .. geeze .. I can't seem to win for loosing. Well I tried the patch .. allergy to the adhesive .. acupuncture .. same thing .. the gum .. well its just plain nasty .. so I guess it will be cold turkey for me

Ruth I hope you enjoyed my little chuckle .. thought you could relate

Chow for now chicklets .. have to clean the house!!

Hi!

Janice, Tippy, Pooky....huge hugs to all of you.

Hugs to you to Chickadee!

Pretty darn hectic around here the past few days.

The meeting with the big kids teacher yesterday went very well. Got home from that checked the phone messages and received a call from the little guy's school nurse that his ear was bothering him so when he got home we made a trip to the drs office. They did a strep test and we got the results this morning and they were negative...but you know it is coming any day now. Dh took the little guy to school and I went in at 10am (waving to Leenie as I drove by!) met with his teacher and then they had a little party today for his birthday. He is 7 today! WOW! Then I brought him home and he helped me make his cake.

I am so very blessed this year that my kids teachers are wonderful. The little guy's teacher was visited by one of the pompous school personel people that think the little guy ought to come back into district. His teacher and I agree that he is just too fragile for it so we begin the task of fighting once again. Dh even gave me permission to let loose if I want....He is so much more diplomatic than I, which often translates into hours of red tape and tons of discussions...all outwardly pleasant while both sides smile and grit their teeth. I am just not that patient (duh) I am the finger pointing momma bear that says, "OVER MY DEAD BODY!" (that is when I AM being polite) I would be a big coorperations worst nightmare...well, no, I would get fired real quickly.

So...it is the little guy's birthday! We can rejoice and be VERY glad! (especially if I can keep my fingers out of his cake...which by request is blue with little sweedish fish swimming!)

I've been a busy woman this morning with all my running around, getting blood tests and then doing the biweekly shop. I hate when my food levels get low--that's when I am more apt to cheat! Grr....

Now I have to clean up my sadly disabled house which is in need of a maid but there's no money and no time! isn't that alwasy the way?

Hope you all have a great day everyone

Happy Thursday all here and to come!

Crazy, crazy Houston weather. 75 one day, 25 the next few and back up today to a gorgeous spring like day. McMom and JHP, feeling the head yuckies, too? Although it's wonderful to have our springlike days it seems impossible to shake colds, allergies, sinus problems. DH's poor body is so confused that he's had this junk for at least the past 3 weeks.

Thanks to you all, my friends, for the wonderful words of anger as well as love and support. Yes, I'm angry too. You don't even want me to get too descriptive on what I would like to do to that "man". Does pickle jar and machete offer a hint?
But I need to focus on the fact that DD and the kids need my focus and not that @$$! Jennifer/Suzanne/Ruthie ~~ would you make an exception and let me say that word connected to "him" just once? My prayers and understanding go to those of you who have also endured this type of violation.

Been trying to get a duplicate of my social security card. What a mess when you've been married more than once. Having to call on ex-dh for help, I think.

Leenie-how's fart blossom?

Pookey-congrats on the new job! Don't overload yourself tho, 'K?

Ruth-Luv the Lucifer stories! Aw, the joys of kids- both 2 and 4 legged ones! I missed the DH ice cube story. What did he do?

Jenny~Luv you! You're a special lady!

Peachie~I vote for letting go! No fight is too much when it comes to your kids! You go girl! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE GUY !!!

Jif~So glad to see you! You sound great!

liz~Two weeks away! Lucky you! Do I remember correctly---Mexico? Wave to us in Tx as you fly by, okay?

Goomba~Welcome! Regarding coffee-have you switched to decaf yet? We weened ourselves off by mixing leaded with decaf until dh couldn't tell the difference anymore!

Kel~Your hugs are definately felt! You've helped me so much with Stephen too! I so appreciate my CA friend!

JenniW~Felt your hugs too! Thank you! Move that scale to the garage & an added plus -- no one can peek when you're checking it! lol

mk~Nice to meet you! I love the CALP program! Best of luck!

LindaBC-Where are you?

DebK-Think of you daily! Miss you!

McMom ~Stacey, come out from lurking!

Nasus-I miss our chats! How's the business?

Scooby~Hope your baby is feeling better soon! So hard when they're sick!

Tippy~You've been a true inspiration! Wish I had the magic words to offer for your DS/DIL situation. <Hugs>

Dottie~Willing to offer some private practice down Tx way? How was the vacation other than an eating frenzy?

I know there's so many that I've not addressed-- I'm sorry but still have some catching up to do!

Hugs and Love to you all!

Talking Oh Good!

It NEVER ends !!!

I think the kids get their revenge on us by spitting out grandkids !!

Oh my ~~ the very last coke? (I'm sure it was a diet one at that, right?) Fortunately our closest saving grace store (with high prices) is about a quarter mile away.

DH and DS went to the gym so I had a few minutes to run over! Hope everyone has a terrific evening! Ya'll are the best!

Hopefully see you tomorrow!
