you are brilliant!!!! and so talented!!!

and peachie is doing just great... i'm so absolutely proud of her.

ok. now yesterday's doctor visit. he said that i look terrific, that i'm doing great, and that soon i'll be in a slinky black dress. here are the numbers.... remember, at surgery on january 29, i had already lost 97 pounds. at the week after the surgery, i had lost 18 pounds. over the next two weeks, which brings us to yesterday, i'd lost another 26 pounds, for a total of 44 pounds in 3 weeks.

and a grand total of 141!!!! i'm just about halfway there!!!!!

after peachie took mom for some errands, i loaded up the old gal and we went to the drugstore, to boston market [to get her some nukable dinners since i'm not cooking and she can't], the grocery store, and out to lunch...

she's asleep and i'm on line.

as for last night's hockey game [sigh]. of course i'm disappointed that the US girls lost, but frankly, they were nervous and disorganized most of the time, and Canada was up and together and really hauling. so, it was a good game, and at least the gold stayed on this continent....

and now canada has beaten [destroyed?] belaruss in men's hockey, so it'll be an interesting game tomorrow... don't expect me to be online!!!

Thank goodness, not a moment too soon. When I woke up this morning I was already wondering if it was 5:00 yet!

The good news is, the weekend is here, the dd is spending the night with her friends, and I'm off to dinner with a girlfriend. Dang. If I had said boyfriend, that would have made things sound so much better!! Oh, well, maybe next year.

Chickadee, you are killing me! I have been known to draw on the magazines, but never design dresses. You are so talented!!

Jiff, WOW! I can't wait until you hit goal!!! We're gonna have to tie you down!

Chickadee - What can I say? That had me giggling in my morning coffee this a.m. Actually cutting out cloth and gluing it on to the swimsuit models? Woman, you have TOOOO much time on your hands! Clever, tho! I'll give you that! LOL Tooooo funny!

Short post today since I have FINALLY been doing some work this week (I have taken procrastination to a new level, I do beleive) and I want to finish a certain project before the kids and I leave to take my mom to dinner this evening. She is doing well by herself (my stepfather died 1 1/2 years ago) and I even think she has a 'gentleman caller'! (now THAT is an old term for ya! I remember my grandmother calling my boyfriends that! lol) She has been talking about 'Jay' coming over and BBQing for her a couple times a week. We have known Jay for years as he was a neighbor of my mom's before they moved.

I had my first break from dd in about a month tonight. She WAS spending the night with friends. I had my quilting materials all laid out for an all-nighter (what a social life I have!) Anyway, I was thoroughly enjoying the peace and quiet when the phone rings at 9:00. The mom calls me, dd is "homesick" and wants to come home.

My gut instinct was to get mad and fume and whine and complain. Then I got over myself and realized that tonight is a gift that I may never get again. We stopped by the video store to rent some of her picks, and picked up some snacks at the store. Now she's in there waiting for me, and we're going to snuggle and watch cartoon videos until she falls asleep. She is overjoyed to stay up past bedtime, and I am overjoyed because she missed me tonight! What a confession.
