Default Check in #2 from a Pregnant chick...

Ok we had the ultrasound done... haven't watched the video yet but it sure was wonderful to see it on the monitor in the exam room.

They will only commit to being 80% positive it's a .......

GIRL!!!!

The best part though is that it seems to be totally healthy. The place I went specializes in high risk and problem pregnancy. So the Dr was very thorough, both in looking for abnormalities and in letting us know what we were seeing. This u/s put us at 2 days ahead of what our original due date was but he said to just stick with the 23rd of March and not change it.

We are thrilled that the baby is healthy, and will definitely be picking out girls names, although with that 20% chance we are still going to think about at least one boys name. We really didn't have any prefference as to the sex, and in fact we were a little surprised as everyone has been telling us it would be a boy because of the heart rate.

We only got one picture and even that didn't turn out very well, I was very glad we had taken a video tape with us.

I hope everyone else had a good day too.

That's wonderful news Lara! Yeah, I'm surprised too about it being a girl, but hey no one REALLY knows until the baby is born!

Thanks everyone we sure are happy to know that the baby is healthy, and growing right on schedule... (and not septuplets like in my dream!)

I'm sort of happy to know it's a girl as I've always loved all the little dresses you can get so easily, however there really is some cute little boy stuff out there too. I really wasn't hoping either way, and neither was dh. Although if we go the next 20 weeks thinking it's a girl and that 20% wins out it will sure be a shocker! It was a surprise to be told it was a girl and we'd only had about 3 weeks thinking it was probably a boy.

Anyhow... the baby is healthy and that's what counts the most.

I'm so happy for you! The baby is healthy and so are you! Great!

I remember wanting a little girl too. I changed my mind when she was a teenager though. Now that she is 31, I enjoy her again! LOL! And she has a girl who is heading for the dreaded teen years!

Boys are easier cause they have the sense to close their mouths when Mom is angry! Girls don't!

Lara,

Congrats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girls are great, but when you get closer and they do more tests they can pretty much be 99% positive. Let us know the names you pick.

Love Yah

Thanks for all the congratulatory posts

I don't know why but I'm still having problems adjusting... The weirdest part is that I always thought I'd have a girl first, but then when the Dr said she thought it would be a boy I guess I just shifted my thinking... now shifting back isn't quite as easy. Although I do love the idea of having a daughter. I'm sure it will soon become second nature to think of the baby as a girl, I just have to go look at little girl baby clothes this weekend.
