LOL. It never crossed my mind that one of the guys would reply in this thread. When I read your post I couldn't help but think of you as John Travolta in "Saturday Night Fever."

^This.

I used to leave the house without even glancing in a mirror. In fact, I'd go days without looking in a mirror. I just did not care. The fat was covered and that was all that mattered. But now I find myself checking the mirror 3 or 4 times after I get dressed.

Yes! I am leaving the house in something other than a baggy men's sweatshirt these days. I still haven't splurged on any bright colors, but I'm thinking soon my closet will have more than black and dark grey.

I have found, since losing some of this weight, that I am having more fun with my makeup, and really playing up my eyes. Before, I didn't want to draw attention to myself at all, not even my best features.

Thanks for replying everybody! It's good to know that I'm not the only one. I definitely try to make sure I don't look like a total tramp but it's really an amazing thought that someone might think something about how I look other than 'fat'...and especially nice to catch my reflection somewhere and be like 'Who's that sexy thang? Oh..that's me!'....so I say everyone should let their freak flag fly in whatever capacity they like...men included! Like some of you said, we've earned this!
(shortly after my post I went on a shopping spree...it was heaven...expensive, but heaven. And in a non plus sized section of the store! woohoo!)

Life is too short to worry about other people's opinions. Even if you went out to the bars wearing red sequined booty shorts, you know you're not a tramp and that's what matters.

When I was younger I had friends who were total party animals and got into trouble- the funny thing was, their moms thought I was bad news because I wore short skirts and had purple hair. On the inside, I was the most conservative of the bunch! People will have their opinions...doesn't make it true.

yes, not really revealing but definitely more fitted clothing! I still lots of issues with my body image because of extra flabby skin

I have been. I haven't been able to do it. I'm going to flaunt while I can and while I'm still young.

My views on modesty changed drastically when I lost weight!
I went from little chubby conservative girl who thought shirts were too low if I could see any skin on my chest when looking down, and shorts were too short if they were more than a few inches above my knee. I would never wear tank tops or skirts/dresses. I thought bikinis were awful.

When I lost weight, then came the cute bikinis and short skirts and tank tops and cleavage!

Now that I gained 50 lbs, I miss being comfortable in those clothes... I will get there soon, though!

I'm not very modest... But I'm not trampy. I just like to be free. And I'm pro-nude.

It's actually funny, I have no problem getting naked to sauna with a bunch of other people (mixed sex and gender), but the thought of wearing swimsuits and shorts scares me...

anyway, I agree with others- you lost the weight, revel in it, be proud of your body and show it off!
