I second the suggestion for Spanx. Oprah talked about them on her show, said she wears them every day. They are wonderful for smoothing everything out. You can get the high waist or just the panty. and, unlike the simular products, they don't leave a "bulge" on your leg when they end. They are pretty pricey, the panty is around 30 dollars the high top is a bit more. I put off buying them for awhile but they are SO worth it.
I got a wonderful shaper from QVC. It's like a tank top. It fits like a shirt from the shoulders to under the 'girls', then it gets tight around the midsection. It's long -- hip-length. I love it under fitted shirts. Warning: Don't wear it with nylon panties. It will roll up and make bad, low muffin top. Would that be muffin bottom?
Yeah...it's not just you. Every since putting on weight, i've had a "side-ways" butt. I never thought of it that way...but yeah...i thought it was just me. I figured it was from all the years of wearing my jeans too tight at the waist, that i had made a permenant indention there. lol.
I just try to buy shirts that don't really cling to me..but if they do cling, then i try to make sure to pair them with a pair of pants that aren't tight around the waist. That's about the best i've come up with for dealing with this problem so far to date. I hope that it will in time not be so noticable. In the meantime, i just keep excersizing (well...i started back excersizing) and keep trying to drop a few more pounds to see how the ol belly comes off.
Luckymomma...you made me laugh. I could never get down on all fours and show my bf how my belly hangs down (like a little butt) but i do notice it sometimes when we're doing ....things....(tmi??) and i am praying he doesn't notice it!!! lol. Hoping once hitting goal and with a little time, most of my belly will shrink and maybe tighten up some.

Reason: went back to see who had made the comment about being on all fours!!! lol.
I don't have the "tummy butt" ...but I definitely have a little pouch there. It's gross. I have a feeling it's going to be the last thing to go though...
Well, I have a REAL "butt in the front" from a classical C-section done ages ago.
But good news! 6 years ago I went from 237 to 147 (lost 50 # right away and the rest over a year) and the "butt" went away! After 2 years everything tightened right up, and I was 40 years old. Now I'm 46 and having to lose again, and I'm hoping and praying that it does the same.
So all you young chicka have nothing to worry about. Please pray for us old chicks.
I have a "tummy butt" too. Actually the top part looks like a barrel and the bottom looks like a kangaroo pouch. Since I've lost a few, it's gotten smaller, but it's still EXTREMELY noticeable.
I think it's the first place I put on weight and the last place I lose it.
Those pants make you look flatter but for me they just seem pointless because I know as soon as I get home & take them off everything will sag back into place. I'd rather people see direct results. Plus those pants are hard to breathe in..
like a sideways butt??!!!... Like a top bump a crease and a pooch..
Seriously I ALWAYS have a muffin top.. even wearing jeans that are so loose I dont have to unbutton them to pull up and on (non stretch)... I only get rid of the lumps if I manage to find jeans that go up to my boobies! (not really but you know what I mean)
Anyway will this get better???Am I still gonna have a tummy butt when I reach my goal weight?? I Have already lost a bit.. and it IS getting smaller but looks the same..
I have no idea if it will go away for you, but it does go away for most people. I have a friend who is anorexic and that is her number one complaint about her body. What it really is is that you have a horizontal bellybutton, most likely.
But the other thing is that a LOT of thin people have this, and a lot of thin people do crunches and get rid of it. I have the opposite -- I have the barrel stomach that leaves that crease line at the bottom.
But for me, my problem area goes away when I'm at a normal weight. It just flattens out on its own.
Think about it this way: There are a lot of people out there with horizontal bellybuttons who are thin, and you rarely see them with the sideways tummy crease.
It should go down. The people who still have it when they're thin are the skinny/fat girls. Just work on toning it.
I've got the dunlop...my belly dun lop over my belt. Ok, not really...it is lower than that. I'm a bit of a weird shape and always have been but all my belly weight came on as a barrel...but then the barrel started to sag. I have always...even when I was anorexic and got bruises when I leaned up against things because my hip bones stuck out too far...had a bit of a gut. I don't have much hope of it ever going away, but I'm sure as heck going to try.
get yourself some spanx and stop worrying about it....it should get smaller after you reach your goal weight and do some toning. Realize though that sometimes pregnancy can cause a separation in your abdomen muscles and will always have a loose outward appearance (reason a why I plan to have a tummy tuck when I'm done with babies).
