SoulBliss-Hey my mom is very TOP heavy and she gets hers from LB FOR her water aerobics. And she works very intense workouts. She swears by them, I just think they are overpriced, but as a tool for workouts, it could be justifiable.

This is the one I like, but there is NO way I am spending that much. I haven't went clothes shopping in YEARS, (except to buy the same clothes in Large, then XL, then I just stopped because I wasn't a plus size, and I was too big for the xl's but too short, ahhhh...LOL!
and what is with the boobs, do they have to be that low!

I think LB marks them up so much so that they can mark them on "Sale" in the summer time.

If you are getting a suit for water aerobics, make sure you get one that will hold up in the chlorine!!!!!!!!! I know Junonia has several styles for that. If it isn't the right material, the crotch of your suit will be down between your knees and ankles sometime when you get out of the pool. I am talking from experience here!!!

I am going to absolutely, 100% recommend the suits from "It Figures" sold over at the QVC website.

They have many styles, and some are going to be styled for older women, but there are PLENTY there for younger ladies as well. They are in both misses and plus sizes. Many of them are tanktini styled-and are really, really cute. The tanktini styles have the cute top, and then they either have a skirt OR shorts bottom. Not the skin tight boy shorts, but like real shorts, with a built in panty underneath.

They are FABULOUS, and many of them are super cute. The tanktini 2 piece skirted ones do NOT look like "old lady" skirted suits.

soul
142 dollars is more than half a car payment or 1/4 of a house payment. That is crazy lol.

$142 for a swimsuit IS crazy.

I *can* see some of the reasons for them being expensive ($50-$100 for a suit) but not THAT expensive.

Good quality lycra is a pretty expensive fabric, and sewing a swimsuit is gads more difficult than sewing, say, a t-shirt or pair of sweatpants.

I can go get many fabrics for $3-$7 a yard, but lycra blends are usually $10 and up a yard...

In general, I have a problem spending over $20 for any single piece of clothing. bathing suits are my one exception. I'm perfectly willing to spend $100 or even slightly over $100 for a bathing suit. Since you are so exposed, if it is something you will wear for a while, it is worth it. That said, I bought a miracle suit from Eddie Bauer for about $100. I loved it. Unfortunately, I grew out of it and I was so sad. I recently spent $20 on a swimsuit at Costco which I really like but I consider it a temporary swimsuit.

I saw those 2 piece swim suits layne bryant came out with this year and that would be the only 2 piece this fatty would ever consider. I haven't owned a swimsuit in years. But when I saw the $120 price tag I put it back down.
I found out one year when I got a gift card to layne bryant that they also own Fashion Bug and you can use the gift card there also. A month ago we were out shopping and walked past Fashion Bug and the same swimsuits were 50% off that layne bryant had. I was able to get a nice 2 piece for $40.
