Going to vouche for Spanx...or Spanx like products. (Never owned the real thing) I was amazed at how much mine slim me...It makes me look like I have a little waist! And totally gets rid of my lumps and bumps.
Try going a size bigger than it suggests on the packaging.
Pantihose and tights are practically impossible when you're tall and overweight.
The 'recommended size' chart pretty much says 'if you're skinny but tall, use XL...and if you're actually overweight...uh, go away and don't bother us'.
I may be paraphrasing slightly, of course.
