Monday, Oct. 8th:

45 minute spin class with weight intervals

Full of guilt tonight. Usually I go to an hour-long circuit training class on Monday nights. I laid out the clothes for it but made a conscious decision not to attend, because I wanted to work on painting something with this rather cool Martha Stewart distressed-look crackle paint. I got my task done but felt some guilt last night and again this morning. But the world did not end and my body did not deteriorate overnight. And I got up & went to the gym the next morning, as usual, so it didn't signify the crumbling of my will or my routine.

15 minutes Stairmaster step mill, aerobic, resistance at eight
60 minute shoulders, chest and triceps routine
60 minute spin class with weight intervals

I know it's easy for me to say-- and you know this-- but you shouldn't feel guilt over missing the gym ENTIRELY for a day-- we've talked about this before. Do you really think it is rational to feel guilt when you go to the gym once instead of twice in the same day? Of course not. Allow yourself some relaxation-- sounds like you did something you wanted to do!

Was going to go to Bikram too-- got dressed, got in the car, and decided I was done. Went back in and took a long bath. Now I'm trying to type without getting bit by a very happy Wilbur-- when he is really happy he purrs and love bites.

Michele, I know it's not rational, but it's a big step for me NOT to go back for a second bout. That's as far as I can go, for now. I'm working on having no regrets about my choice to do something else.

In my excitement at returning to my gym, and its big menu of classes and instructors whom I like and am friends with, I have created a schedule that may not be supportable over a really long period of time. I'm just going to follow it & see how long I can do it before cutting back.

Very cool! You certainly wouldn't see that at the gym now would you?

October 9: repeat of yesterday-- 90 minutes Bikram Yoga. Different instructor though-- I really like her as she gives positive praise throughout! So many of the instructors are just correcting students in their postures-- it sure is nice to hear "beautiful posture Michele".

Wednesday, Oct. 10th:

45 minute spin class with weight intervals, a small class on a dark rainy morning at 6 AM, but very supportive of a new person taking her very first-ever spin class. I realized I've gotten fairly good at this.
