15 minutes warmup on elliptical, resistance at 3, going backward
60 minutes weights
30 minutes elliptical, resistance at 8, most of it backward
Another curtailed cardio session, because I was hurrying to get to work in Connecticut this morning. There's a gathering after work tonight for a coworker who's getting married in a few weeks. I want to be there, so I won't get to the gym tonight; I had to get in my workout early this morning.
I'll stop slacking tomorrow. Thank goodness for the weekend.
X-trainer, rower, yoga/stretching. I've done two weeks (6 sessions) of this to get myself back into things. I've felt it.
I see the new physio on Tuesday and then I'll start the next phase, probably on Thursday. It's going to be weights, more conditioning to promote stability. (Lydia226 gave me a fab outline of muscle strength & muscle endurance over on the Weights board. On phone so can't give link. I'll come back to it.)
My joints are fairly decent, actually, Birchie. My cardio is all done on machines, to mitigate the impact. I don't run. Every few months, I try a run, and find I've got the breath for it, but that I'm annoyed by the pounding & jouncing. So I don't run.
As the weather gets better, the gym is emptier on weekends. Except spin with the instructor who's doing intervals with light 2-lb and 3-lb weights. This has became a craze among gymgoers. The class filled completely & started a waitlist by 8:15 AM the other day.
May 14: 40 minutes Boot Camp
I was planning on going to Bikram Yoga in the afternoon but when I got there the only instructor I really didn't like was there. I decided I'd rather not use one of my expensive passes for a class I won't like. So I ended up with less exercise than I planned.
9:44 minutes rowing on the Concept 2 with resistance set at 6 got me just past the 2,013 meter mark
60 minutes weights
45 minute spin class, mostly ladder sprints
A sleepy rainy day. Sitting on the spin bike, waiting for class to start -- the instructor was a little late -- I found myself nearly nodding off. Yes, with my legs still peddling beneath me. This was probably due to the Claritin I'd taken earlier.

60 minute Endurance Ride in spin class, with weight intervals
Driving home in the rain, in various traffic jams, and with all my new projects that were handed to me on Monday on my mind, I was feeling very low in spirits. Spin class woke me up again. Now that's something I feel fairly competent at when I'm doing it.
10 minute warmup rowing on the Concept 2, past 2,000 meters, but I'm trying not to get caught up in the numbers, just to warm up
60 minutes weights
45 minutes spin class
Missed doing weights in the morning, as I started work at 6 AM on the laptop instead. Finally walked off just past 5 PM, because I needed to, and now I'm back & see they kept trying to reach me for an hour & a half afterward about five different projects. But I was at the gym, blowing off steam.
45 minute spin class
30 minutes Pilates mat routine on my own
A nearly full 6 AM spin class, despite the rainy, dark morning. And I liked doing sprints to an old song by Queen, I think it's called "Mr. Fahrenheit" or "Don't Stop Me Now." What an extraordinary voice Freddie Mercury had, and it was like no one else's.
Towards the end of the class the instructor all of a sudden led a woman out of class and told us to do the next pose ourselves. I could halfway see what was going on and she was obviously not doing well. They were giving her tons to drink and when I left she looked very out of it and an ambulance had arrived. First time I've seen that. I sure hope she is okay. The only thing the instructor told us was to make sure we stay hydrated.

Saef-- do you go to the gym twice daily or do you work out for two hours at once? Just wondering...
