The Yoga Fitness Plus is different, from Fusion, definitely. Fusion gets the heart rate up a little more I believe, more fast moving from pose to pose. Seemed to have more aerobic activity combined with the yoga poses. YFP flows along, focusing more on different groups of poses, more balances, gets up on the toes a few times. The majority of the down dog/plank/side plank are in the first 15 mins or so, with a couple of returns to a plank/push ups/up dog vinyasa (no idea how to spell that) scattered through the last two thirds. The balances always get me, because I have really tight hamstrings and hips so have a hard time on the standing split kind of poses. My legs always feel great when I'm done though. In that 'wow, that really hurt, can't believe I did that' great way.

ETA: the instructor on YFP is a perky blond woman who has grown on me in the last several weeks. She defines it as a "level 2 flow", and gives modifications as she goes along for level 1. I can't remember what the level was on YFF..

I haven't done YFF recently - I think I might try to toss it in this week.

Le Sigh.

I was on my elliptical, trucking along, 20 minutes in, and the front wheel FELL OFF the ramp. Just flew. I was pedaling backward, so one foot plunged downward and the backward momentum of the other pedal basically made me FLY off, backward. I didn't hit my head, but I did land really hard on my left arm....slammed my elbow into my closet doorframe, then my hand into the ground/bent my wrist back and landed my shoulder into my aerobic step that was right there. And I'm pretty sure my right ankle ended up hitting/tangled in the step, because it hurts in a bruised sort of way.

Owww. Thats going to leave a mark.

Wednesday

B - 1/2 cup oatmeal, 2 spoons apple butter

S - chopped cantelope

L - salmon salad (canned red salmon, a little mayo, onions, pickle) on 2 pieces of toasted whole grain bread, 1/3 package of crispy green beans

S - string cheese

S - the most wonderful cherries from the farmer's market

S - tall non fat latte

D - Leftover peanut marinated chicken from last night. I went a little crazy with the rice noodles last night (portion was too big) so I'm just going to Trader Joe's brown rice tonight, I know how many calories are in half! Oven roasted asparagus on the side.

Owww... You are not having good luck lately with the exercise equipment! Didn't that elliptical just get repaired?

Why yes, in fact, it did! Stupid lemon elliptical. It ran great...perfectly even... until the warranty ran out. Then it immediately started drastically falling apart in all kinds of places. This was a totally different problem than what was fixed and is a machine-ender...the front ramp wheel axle totally snapped in half. I'd have to replace a whole arm.

Sarah did say that when this elliptical's useful life ended, I could get a Jillian Michaels incline trainer...positive, right?

Hey, moving up to the incline trainer is definitely a sliver lining!

Kitty - there is a "Hips, Thighs & Buns" (Can't remember the actual name, but it has at least two of those words in it! ) yoga program on On Demand also, Tom Morley leads it, it is only 20 minutes but will also leave you feeling pretty burned.

Yesterday came in calorie wise, but my evening eating totally changed. I ended up with an extra snack in the afternoon, a sandwich & an apple for dinner, light ice cream for a snack before bed. I did exercise (ball, ab video, Weider, kickboxing) so that was good.

Today:
E: cardio when I get home. Maybe some yoga before bed if I'm up for it.
B: smoothie, coffee
S: string cheese, clementine
L: grilled chicken salad
S: kashi go lean, yourt
D: the planned ground turkey over rice & broccoli from last night
S: skinny cow or peanut butter graham cracker

Shoulder deteriorated rapidly yesterday, and I ended up giving in and going to urgent care at 6. Waited there for an hour, got sent for x-rays, waited for 2 hours (ugh), apparently she not only did them wrong (apparently there was a way to get the same shots WITHOUT making me lie on top of the giant shoulder bruise and pushing me around into different angles), but she didn't even get the angle the doctor requested. AND by the time I was done, all the pharmacies were closed, so I spent the night trying to take enough Advil to be able to sleep (apparently, there IS no dosage of advil big enough to make my shoulder not hurt, especially after it was pummelled by the xray lady).

Went back this morning (now totally stiff and with no ability to move my arm into particular positions) to get the necessary x-ray, and was helped by a lovely friendly lady who told me that there was no need to have me lay on my shoulder AT ALL and was sort of appalled that they did it. And by then the pharmacies were open so I could get pain meds. So today is better (except that whole unable to move arm into certain spots thing). I'll know whether I broke my shoulder blade by this afternoon.

So, with all that said, I'm barely allowed to move, much less exercise, until we know I'm not broken. So today I'll be skipping it

B - Greek yogurt w/ strawberries, 2 tbsp lowfat granola
L - Leftover chicken and veggie stirfry, brown and wild rice
S - Honeydew Melon
D - Lean pork chops cooked in that tomato/balsamic/veggie sauce I posted for the pork loin recipe earlier, polenta, green beans
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar

Shannon, thx for the heads up. I did no exercise last night, as it turns out. Came home on a late train, put kids to bed, rushed out to a meeting which ran very late and then zonked.

today... already ate:
uneaten cereal out of child's breakfast bowl
balance bar
small piece of salmon
a crapload of fancy cheese
piece of apple with pb (very small but def. mindless plate glommimg)
big glass of red wine waiting on me

dinner planning for children chicken shu mai-- will def have somadat
steamed broc

can you tell I have one sick and another extremely whiney toddler hangin around me? :^)
good news is that I did take off 1.5 of the 2 lb gain from my stress extravaganza.

exercise= 1 sweaty treadmill mile

edit== started this post then left fro few hours.. Amanda---- healing wishes coming your way
