Oh my goodness! A kicker is a euphemism for cowboy, originally derived from "sh*t-kicker" - cowboys being around horses and cows...you know... Maybe it's a Texas thing?? Of course, Houston's biggest country station is KIKK!
Anyway, in high school - not just mine but also all my cousins all over Texas - cowboys were never referred to as a "cowboy" but as a "kicker."
Hey, I'm on the East Coast, and I know what wranglers and ropers are! They sell and wear them around here. They even have a rodeo every Saturday night in the town I live in.
I even saw that famous rodeo star that hurt himself real bad (can't remember his name right now) in Pizza Hut one night.
Metalchic - was it Tuff Hedeman (had to have major face reconstructive surgery from a bull riding injury) or Jerome Davis (was paralyzed from a bull injury) man some of those bull rides can get nasty!
I bought some new jammies the other day that remind me of this. I can truly say that for the first time in MY WHOLE LIFE, I have started feeling sexy recently. For religious reasons, I never allowed myself to be sexy when I was thin. Now that the weight is coming off and I am liberated, I feel so much sexier than I ever have. My new jammies are pink satin. The bottoms are capris, the top is spaghetti straps. Dang, I love those pajamas.
Katie - those jammies sound cute!! As for me...Im sure my husband is tired of my tshirts and boxer shorts....lol....it will still be a while before I feel comfortable enough in my own skin to wear something else. When we first were married I bought a lot of satiny kind of sexy jammies from lane bryant but I haven't worn those in years....
Beanie,
Thanks for bringing this thread back up. I was rolling on the floor reading it all. I will say that in my hope chest discoveries that I unearthed 3 pair of roper jeans and 1 pair of rockies. Those jeans can make any butt flattering. They all fit and the first time I wore a pair to work a few weeks ago, everybody for the first time in 45 lbs. was asking me if I was losing weight. My DH followed me around like a dog in heat, and couldn't keep his hands off me. That did wonders for the ole confidence level. I can't wear the wranglers though, butt's too big, waist is too small. I have a pair of button up pinstripe Levis that I bought when I was in high school that are my ultimate goal jeans. I have always loved those jeans and only wore them a couple of times I think. I have them currently hanging on the front of my closet to give me motivation every morning.
Debbie - I loved rockies... I had a pair that were black and blue checkered...I loved those things...in fact I had bought like 3 pair of them...sad to say they are long since gone.
