Pink - So glad you went anyway! And hope you feel better soon! I have had problems with chronic headaches in the past, so I know what you're going through and I might wish it on my worst enemy - maybe! :headache:

Mini-poll: would you recommend LAWL to someone with only a few pounds to lose - less than 20? Have a friend who is trying to ditch those last 15-20 post-baby pounds and has an appointment at LAWL on Saturday. I think I personally would have been turned off by the idea of paying for a year of maintenance if I hadn't had SO much weight to lose and struggling with it unsuccessfully for four years already.

Have a good evening everyone - going to go "test drive" some more ellipticals and see what else is out there, so that I can decide exactly which one I want! :D I wish they had an elliptical smiley, but this guy :tread: will have to do, I guess!

Hi everyone. Pink, I'm so proud of you! I hope you didn't take me the wrong way in my earlier post, I just wanted to give you a boost in the right direction. The reason why I asked about excuses is because believe me, I've had every excuse in the book the past 3-4 years for not losing weight, and each year I gained more and more and because more unhappy with myself. What a terrible cycle that can be. I'm truely happy for you. About the money up front it's normal, and I think if you didn't pay up front you wouldn't commit yourself for the long haul.

Drum roll please!

I weighted in today and was down 3.2 lbs. The lowest I've been since July 1st (as the past 2 months I keep going up and down a pound (or 2)). The Take Off worked for me. Another person that I got today at the center said, now for the next 3 days - stick with everything as unlimited. Protein and starch as well. I'm trying my best to do that for the next 3 days. I will also do take off again in a couple of weeks. I'm very excited. One more thing, I only worked a 1/2 day today and weighted in a 12 noon instead of 4:00pm. I hope that is not the difference in my weight lost. Gees, forget I said that - I'm only looking forward on this!

Everyone have a great evening. I'm beat. I went to the NY State Fair today with my mother and sister. We around walked for 5 hours and my feet are killing me!

Thanks for all the support on the 2 Day Take Off! Happy dreams!

Hi Again,
I spent the rest of the day cleaning since all the work in the house is now complete, fresh paint and all. So now everything sparkles and I feel good about that. Just a couple of quick notes, as I read through the posts very quickly.

SY: CONGRATS - I'm so happy for you - you did a wonderful job, but I knew you would. I think you just made it past a plateau and will start to see more steady weight loss again. Big Hugs.

Pink: So glad you decided to sign up for LAWL. I was very skeptical in the beginning as well, but after being on the program 6 weeks and seeing the results - I'm a believer!!! Ask all the questions that are on your mind and don't be shy. So glad to have you with us and Good Luck on ast you start the journey.

Sammy: Congrats on your loss as well - you're doing great.

Star: Thanks for the post on the M&M's - my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and is now in remission - so I was happy to see this support.

Fiona: I think it's a good idea to give your friend as much information as possible about the program and encourage them to make an appointment for informational purposes and then let them decide if it's for them. Your encouragement and support in whatever program your friend chooses is important.

Kristi: Hang in there - you're gonna do it!!

Well ladies, I need to get some sleep. After all this hard work I am going to pamper myself tomorrow morning - going to go get that pedicure!!! I probably won't post until the afternoon. So you all have a wonderful morning.

Big Hugs,
June

Good Morning Chicks.

Amy - I have the same weight goal and stradegy about it as you do. I'm 5'7" and the chart at the center says 133 for me. When I saw that I thought "Geez I would look like one big wrinkle" Back in the day, I weighed 118-125 and I was very thin, but at my age, I think I deserve afew extra pounds....lol
June - So glad to hear about your mom being in remission. Now I will buy more M&M's for sure..
Fiona - I really enjoyed your motivational post (I need all that I can get). About your friend that has 15-20 lbs of babyfat to lose. I have lost 10 to 30 pounds so many times on my own - it's hard to say. I think she could do it with a "home" diet, but the decision is ofcourse her's alone. I'm sure you will be a great support for her either way. I do know that once you get 20 lbs or more overweight it isn't easy to lose no matter what you do. Once I get to goal, I'm not going 5 pounds above that number without going back on plan.
Sammy - Way To Go on the weight loss...now stay away from the M&M's...
Pink - glad you took the plunge, sounds like it was a real expense for you. About the cleansing program, it involves the juice. At my center it is $28 a bottle, it was in my original program sign up cost. But after that it's not, I do know people that have replaced it with the Hollywood Diet Juice you can buy at Walmart. The cantalope sounds even better. Also at my center you can be on a payment plan, it is called CareCredit. If you firmly tell them that your budget is set and you can only afford so much I think they will work with you.....
Kristi, Very good advice to Pink. I'm making a mental note in the back of my head to ask you for advice.....glad your juice is going so well...tell me, do you think it would hurt when we do the juice if we added just a touch of vodka?
Sy - Congrats on your loss!
Beach - I agree, I love this thread and how chatty we all are.
Karen - Stop working so hard and get on here, your missing all this fun....

Good morning gals! :flow2:

Weigh in day! At lunch as usual. My *new* scale said 210.4, fully dressed just before I left the house this morning, so we'll see how things compare in a few hours. Was POP yesterday, so that feels good...just hope it's reflected in the numbers! ;)

Will catch up with the rest of the posts later...have a great morning!

I understand that the cover story in the current Women's World magazine is about a woman who lost 77 pounds with LAWL. Has anybody read it? I'm going to make sure I pick up a copy over lunch.

Star 09-02-2004 12:39 PM

Fiona - Yes I read it- good article, it also has some recipes ....
I'm going to K-Mart at lunchtime......and then getting off early...
Hugs.

vibrantecho 09-02-2004 01:43 PM

Gosh, I'm hoping that they might take pity on us here and send us home early...we'll see. We get Monday off, of course, so that's something. :)

Yay, another pound down! :dancer: Actually I was up .2 on Tuesday (I thought so) but they didn't say anything to me, so that means it's a net loss of .8 for the week so far, and a grand total loss of 5.6!! :D I would love, love, LOVE to see another pound gone on Saturday.

I'm sure there are people out there who would like to kill me for saying this, but I really didn't expect it to be this easy.

Doh, I knew there was something I forgot to do - pick up that article! Oh well - I guess I'll have to catch it after work. :p

Fiona - Good job girlfriend!! You look good doing the happy dance! I'm glad you find this so easy....For me, sometimes it's easy, sometimes it hard and once in awhile it is impossible.....But I'm not a good role model.....

Kristi - The B&B break sounds wonderful, is that to celebrate your reaching goal? My hubby and I went to our first B&B last valentines day, on our year anniversary. It was in Frankenmuth, MI and the owners made sure everything was home cooked; baked goods, juices and meals, even had cocktail hour.....awesome!
Okay about leaving early today, My boss is on vacation and we have been leaving everyday this week. This weekend we are going up north to our lake place. We will leave Friday afternoon and come back Tuesday (we both took a vacation day Tues). Some of our kids and grandbabies will be there with us, it should be alot of fun......

Sy _ Congratulations!!!!

beachlover 09-02-2004 02:40 PM

You are all so inspiring. I was at the mall and had half a roasted chicken sub for lunch which counts as 1 protein, 2 starches and 1 veg. and now I feel stuffed and after reading your posts I think I better get out and go for my walk.

Hi Everyone,

Well it looks like everyone has had good losses!!! I weighed in today and am down another .4, so that's 3.4 total for the week - and all my weigh-ins are done this week.

Fiona, Kristi, and SY: Special congrats to you on your losses!!! Good going.

Star: I am going to need to pick up that Women's World magazine!!! And thanks for supporting research in breast cancer - it means a lot!!

Well, I cashed in on my reward today - got my pedicure and manicure, and had a nice relaxing morning. My new loss brings my net loss to 18 pounds - so only two more pounds to that next mini-goal!!!!

We have a faculty dinner tonight, and I am going to have to go get ready for that. This will be a challenge as it's a buffet and the food is always excellent. But beachlover said it in a nutshell - you ladies are inspiring, and I know that will help me to make it through this dinner.

Talk to you all later, and have a wonderful day!!!!

Big Hugs,
June

Star 09-02-2004 03:30 PM

Kristi - That B&B and treatment sound romantic and wonderful. I know you will have a heavenly weekend.......
June - Congrats on you loss - you and I have lost about the same amount.....doesn't it feel great to be so much smaller.......Have a great time at your dinner...
I'm getting ready to go home, talk to all you losers tomorrow......HUGS

vibrantecho 09-02-2004 05:14 PM

Loooooooooongest day everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... :dz: Can't believe I've got another one just like it tomorrow.

How are you all doing this afternoon???

sammyboy 09-03-2004 12:05 AM

Hey everybody!

DH is still painting and it is almost 10:00 at night. I am tired and ready for RR but he has one more wall to finish before he gives in for the day!! It looks so great I told him we needed to put the house on the market now because it looks so good

Sy: congrats on your big loss! As bad as the take off is I guess after the two days to see the loss makes it worth while!!

Beach-the sandwich sounds great what i would do for a sandwich with two pieces of bread!!

June- Way to go on the loss and you are so close to your next mini-goal! How was the mani/pedi? That is one thing I would really love is a pedicure! Glad to hear your mom is in remission! My mother is a breast cancer survivor of 15 years this May!!!

Kristi-I am jealous of your weekend away with DH! I would love a weekend with no kids! Plus what is better than being at the coast and skinny... in Levis no less!!!

Pink-Congrats on making that first step I don't know how many times I called my center and they told me and approximation on price and I quickly hung up the phone! I think when we decide enough is enough then it is worth any amount of money to feel good about ourselves.

I have a good story about dinner at our house tonight! I know my family is sick of watching me eat chicken and a big pile of veggies so I tried to fix them something different with pork chops in a casserole. Well I ended up threatening them that if they did not stop complaining about what they were eating they were going to become new members of LAWL and mom was going to be the counselor. YIKES.. Needless to say my 9 year old went to bed hungry as he chose not to clean his plate, my 13 year old only ate the potatoes and my 3 year old ended up dipping his meat in mustard. NICE! I have lost the touch of being a good cook and turned into a psycho dieter!!

Another story about my scale. I purchased one and after programming it decided it was not working right as my husband only weighed 138 with all his clothes on and returned it on Wednesday. After making a trip to Target and seeing the health-o-meter that everyone is talking about priced for 39.99 I decided it was not meant for me to have one and will not be joining the scaleaholics for now.

Okay I think he is wrapping up so hope all is well with everyone! I weigh in tommorrow then not again until Wednesday. My family is coming tommorrow for the weekend and I am sooo nervous about staying on plan. I think for dinner tommorrow night I am going to make taco salad and give up my beef for the week. I wish I could find a no salt/low sodium taco mix for my meat any ideas? Then on Saturday we are taking my sister out for her b-day and not sure of the restaraunt but I am pretty sure I can stay on plan and then on Sunday she is cooking Ham or Turkey, Turkey would be preferable as I don't think ham is on the limited? Any suggestions???

Have a great day and I will try to post after weigh in and hopefully I will have my 10 pound avitar ;)
